I just finished the Archon quest, and now I want whatever sleeping pills he's on, cuz how are you still asleep? Mind you the fake sky got broken again and the actual moon is there.

People really take this "sleeping" part at face value, huh? Maybe it's not a voluntarily sleep, but they *can't* wake up until they regain whatever they lost, how about that?

Its because from our perspective(which is basically the perspective of the people of Teyvat. The Traveller is only hearing second hand accounts) HP is so strong that the concept of having them be out of commission(be it temporarily) is unthinkable.
Your literal "God among gods" was knocked out by something else. The concept would just break every gods psyche knowing that there are other beings that has the same power level as HP.
And remember that we have met only a *very* few people that has traverse different worlds.

I think as long as it's not the Traveler causing the possible disaster, the disaster is still under the fate of the world and HP knows if it will resolve itself or if intervention is needed.
Edit: We know 3 shades are still fine (maybe 2 and a half), even if HP doesn't get involved, if the disaster was actually putting the world in real danger, at least the shades should do something like in Khaenri'ah.
Let's say the Traveler was accepting to work with Dottore. At that point, the Traveler changes the fate of the disaster that's Dottore's plan, so HP has to come nuke them. But, without a descender, Dottore is still bound to fate, no matter how strong he thinks he is.

i've always thought the reason visions are granted is because the wishes of the allogenes that are surrendered to celestia in return are being used by the divine thrones the gnoses govern over to restore phanes' vitality. the weirdest part of the story to me is that no shades contacted anyone during - or even referenced - the annihilation of the hydro throne
guinaifen_enjoyer2026-01-19 06:47
Maybe HP left Teyvat to take over another planet like Surtalogi
SameEssay1932026-01-19 07:03
I mean the shades say the HP have yet to wake up and I’d think they’d notice if their creator was dead
KaedeP_222026-01-19 07:19
What if they're like the Emperor from WH40K? can't be alive yet also can't die.
Costyn172026-01-19 19:12
It isn't impossible, but if Abyssal Nibelung wasn't enough to put HP in that state (HP went to sleep during/after the Cataclysm 500 years ago) what even happened during the Cataclysm to put HP in that state?
Practical-Dark-99162026-01-20 11:11
Phanes chickened out when he saw Pierro aura farming during the destruction of Khaenri'ah.

The king size triple layer bed + Hot chocolate before sleep + rainy night + warm bedroom lighting combo is too damn strong. Buddy aint waking up anytime soon.

They are probably damaged from the war of funerary flames.
Or if they are an AI like some people theorycrafts then they may have lost some of their functions and the 4 shades pretty much does everything.
DarkAlatreon2026-01-19 10:22
But HP intervened during the Cataclysm, no? That was way later than the war with dragons.
Top-Idea-17862026-01-23 22:39
Correct.
They'd have to do so anyways since they moved the spaceship to the moon

Spoilers are allowed, right? Extra spoiler warning just in case.
Because we're here. If the heavenly principles is our ship's AI and the entire purpose of the AI is to repopulate our species and deliver traveler to a new planet, then it's not gonna nail us, obviously.

Istaroth to the PO: so I just checked the future and it seems like all's according to my plan.

I guess it has something to do with the Descender. I forgot the exact words but it was revealed that outside influence is needed for the world (Teyvat) to flourish or something. Since Traveler were involved in those events, it's still considered a part of the plan of HP.
New_Economist_94292026-01-19 13:07
He won't wake up until the protagonist regains his powers; only the protagonist can confront Phanes and make him wake up, thus beginning the game's ending.
Rex_Lapis_2026-01-19 13:18
You know he went from being a top athlete to someone who cant even stand, he cant control the world no longer, thats why he made archons, also shades also do part of his jobs. He got fucked up. On a godly level sleeping for 6k years is nothing.
RemoteEconomics90272026-01-19 13:38
At this point bro is probably us or some shit, we can not keep blaming the sleeping pills forever
iPcFc2026-01-20 18:54
If we are going to follow the theory that HP is AI, then they are already in EOL, that's probably why they haven't made any move yet especially after this arc.
The fact that Furina destroyed the Hydro Authority should be a wake up call for the HP to do something but they didn't.
I guess we're going to see "the burning of thr old world" and "the ascension of the new god" soon.
