Do you think the traveler canonically spends at least one year in each nation or will the story end in just a few months canonically when it's finally complete?
Knowing they are finding their sibling, it would be kind of weird that they would spend a whole year in a nation. This popped into my head when thinking about the new players who are joining nowadays. Since they missed all the events, their story will progress quicker and end soon. Unless hoyo reveals that alternative universes do exist in this game.

So yeah, the implication is that Traveler spends several years exploring Teyvat. Of course, we won't get an exact acknowledgement of how long since we'll never see Klee (or any of the younger characters) grow up, but we do get an acknowledgement of the passage of time that elapsed when appropriate.
There's also a LOT of stuff the game skims over that canonically happens; namely Traveler and Paimon sleeping in the wild or in the Teapot, cooking in the wild, etc. It just gets glossed over in 90% of the cases because what you do in gameplay is mostly a microcosm of the "most interesting" part of the Traveler's life.
The Jade Palace being rebuilt can happen before or after the Inazuma trip, and if before, you have to wonder why Traveler is even still in Liyue at that point.
Going from one particular town to another is sometimes instantaneous, sometimes an afternoon walk, and sometimes a multi-day endeavour.
And stuff like this is all over the game.
But perhaps most noticeable of all: Characters mention how years have passed, and we go to Lantern Rite 'each year', but the children never age.
