Can the devs please remove the 1/1 weekly boss limit?
Every new character that is released alongside a new weekly boss always requires their materials but we only get 1 chance to fight that boss per week and the character requires a total of 18 boss materials for all 3 talents upto level 10. Even for 2 talents at lvl 10, we still need a total of 12 weekly boss mats.
Not even the first-boss clear rewards that they've added helps because we need atleast 8-12 and getting them over the course of weeks is annoying.
Not to mention the rare dream solvents drop, we get like 1 per 3 or more drops and we have a lot of characters to build so please if possible, either make dream solvent permanent per weekly boss fight or allow more chances to get rewards from each weekly boss.

* You have 3 free challenge attempts per week.
* You can challenge the same weekly boss multiple times.
* Once you run out of the free challenge attempts, you can consume 60 "resin" to challenge it again.
Genshin's system already has pretty much the same system in place except for point #2 (and well, that instead of free we have half-cost). It's honestly a thing of its time and needs to go.
Even if we assume you don't need to max all of them (generally BA), you still need around 12 mats, which is still 4 weeks at best, and 6 weeks if you are unlucky and only get 2 mats per kill (which is a very likely scenario to begin with). And you still have the dream solvent issue, esp for people who only clear 3 bosses per week (so on average around 50 solvents for a year).
On the other hand, ZZZ characters only needs 9 boss mats in total, so even if you keep your batteries for other activities and just use your free attempts, you consistently need only 3 weeks for completely maximize an Agent passive. It goes without saying that spending some batteries and trading the monthly boss mats with Hollow Zero currency makes it much less frustrating to use a new character right from the bat.
So yeah, it isn't just an issue of getting the mats, but also the huge requirements on Genshin side.
No resin overflow, lots of daily/weekly blocks, stingy battle pass reward and progression, no dialog skip, no overflow on leveling mats etc
Nobody noticed how backloaded weekly mat requirements have become which is great.
In reality this is hardly an issue. All you need is a little bit patience, especially in genshin where the dev direction has made it clear that its essential.
Its really just staying consistent and doing the newest once a week.
Most people play prob on 2 9 9 Talents which means 8 Drops. Thats like 3-4 weeks which is not a patch at all. And usually or rather recently the newest charas dont even use the new boss fast.
Its really not as much as an issue as you think.
Take the chess boss.
Skirk Flins used it. Thats 2 whole patches apart.
Same with Mav and Varesa.
They are very intentional nowadays.
Meanwhile, the Lord of Eroded Prima Fire's drops are still regularly required, and The Knave's drops were useful as recently as Aino's release.
They seem to be aiming for 9-10 characters per weekly boss, with 2 weekly bosses and 17 characters in total per version, so they release weekly bosses faster than they can release the characters who need them, which is why the chess boss and now Dottore don't instantly have every character needing their drops.
There are some situations like newer or returnee but at that point weekly mats are hardly the issue you should concentrate on.
But im also not saying its bad, the devs clearly are intentional with it. This really isnt an issue. There are bigger things to complain about. All this saves is remove the need of patience in one of the 20 systems designed around it.
But so far at least that hasn’t happened so probably won’t happen.
.
Edit : see, few minutes in and the comment section just prove my point lol
Natlan is probably the best map for exploration and they give you many tools to do it with indwelling and Nightsoul.
We've been cooked for a long time now.
They are not the same, at 55/200 resin, back up resin allow us to fill up 5 to make it 60; after we use, we are zeroing the resin tank at 0/200 before we log off.
I have done this soo many times in Wuwa & ZZZ. I dont have to wait 40 mins to zero my tank.
I only have my newest character to build so on the days that the domains are closed I'm back to artifact farming since I have nothing else to spend my resin on.
It's an unnecessary time gate on an already timed timegate (resin), it's really ridiculous at this point in the game.
The lack of a *skip button* is a huuuuge red flag that only continues to grow as the game grows older. It's literally one of the most basic QoL imaginable and even the jankiest Visual Novels tend to have it. And VNs are usually at least 99% dialogue and yet they still consider a skip function to be an essential feature.
And yet Genshin still doesn't have one, over 5 years later. Surely there's at least one dev at Hoyo with enough free time on their hands to program a skip button in under a day. It can't be that hard.
This leads me to believe that someone up the command chain is blocking it. Someone clearly hates the idea of *anyone* daring to skip their beautifully bloated dialogue. They want us to be miserable while listening to the endlessly bloated dialogue, especially after we were just forced into the cutscene against our consent.
These aggravating mechanics completely ruined Natlan for me. I was never able to get attached to the little Saurian after it was literally forced on me, especially since i was already short on time at that moment. I just wanted to quickly unlock some waypoints and not deal with a quest.
"You want to play Genshin but don't want to read? Just say you want to roll gacha. Uninstall it if you can't take it." is the most response I've seen in my country group.
"i don't play the game"
so how about you get the fuck out?
People ask for a skip button because they don't care about the arc they're stuck on but want to get ahead: "you just want free primogems without having to work for it! How dare you!".
People ask for events to become permanent, like every other Mihoyo game: "How dare you! My phone would explode if they used 2GB on old events! You're trying to kill me!"
Some people don't just want the game to not improve, they take personal offense to the mere implication that the game has flaws.
Lets be real, no one looks at Genshin's dungeon system and says "Man i cant wait to beat the same 6 enemies 18 times today for relics!" Its absurdly dull and its true for every single one of them.
I know it's a different game but I'm slowly shifting my game time from Genshin to WWM. That game has so much going on and also QOL that I can't imagine Genshin will ever have. Not to mention the lack of Gacha lucks needed to make my character strong.
December 2025 and I was thinking of buying 5 months of Welkin. January 2026 and I'm not even considering extending my 9 days left. The frustration is building up and Hoyo is not doing anything about it even in small QoL, like not limiting weekly bosses to 1 claim only.
Remember that Genshin is already a 5 year old game. The fanbase will not let go easily in a short amount of time.
At some point I just play genshin story mode only & drop that daily login grind.
Same goes for hoyo. Genshin was special when it first came out but there is a lot more competition now, including their other games. They had their Apple moment last year when they were joking on the 6.0 live stream how they hate making money. They tried to present themselves as generous but just came off as out of touch at best. That was on the same live stream where they announced level 100.
They don't want you to instafarm materials for newest characters in 1 single day.
And even without the weekly boss I can bring the talent levels up to 6/6/6... good enough to at least just play around with them for a week or two
Edit: free for the first 3 every week
"Talent" materials are generic for the attributes, so for example all fire characters use one fire type skill chip.
Agent level up materials are generic for the class, so all supports use the one material.
It's the best game to build characters imo
Genshin have 108 playable characters but most bare minimum QOL still missing. It took me 2 months of prefarming to get enough weekly boss materials to get ONE furina skill to 10. Ofc solvent never drops when i actually need them.
In wuwa you atleast get 4-5 weekly boss drop per attempt and dont need to fuck around with conversion.
we need zzz qols in every hoyo game ASAP
the only reason hsr doesnt do that is because theyve always released weekly bosses before the character but they still have the weekly limit of 3 runs per week and without any free runs too so youre still using energy regardless. its good but it can be improved
So all in all, ZZZ is the most "expensive" one stamina wise but also the one where you don't need to wait for any timegates to actually do what you want.
Then again ZZZ's Notorious hunts cost 30 by default, when Genshin's are 60 when you don't account for the first three being 30 resin.
If I could do the same domain three times for 30 resin each, I'd be happy.
In Wuthering Waves I can just indulge in the hype of a new character and have them nearly maxed out over a weekend if I wanted to.
Hoyo needs to understand that we don't play games to practice **delayed gratification** , I think we play to escape it actually.
How much that time gated domains help with this is something no one can say for sure. Based on Genshin Impact success even after a half a decade, it is most likely at least neutral. Maybe now it might be a negative with other options out there, if that’s the case they will eventually change it, like they have done it many times with resins and artifacts, etc.
HSR: 3 runs a week on any boss, 30 TB power each, 3 mats per run, 12 to max out full traces
Genshin: One run per week per boss, first 3 are 30 resin rest are 60, 3 different mats that need a separate mat to convert between them (33% to drop one per run) and each run drops 2 random mats with 10% chance to drop 3, 6 mats to max out one talent
And people will still defend this dated system
Allow us to create ‘tickets’ from the other weekly bosses, using 60 resin and the treasure collection point.
Can only craft after doing the three discounts and you can’t create any more than the available bosses for that week, to stay ‘weekly’.
Solvents should have been guaranteed since they added them, weekly bosses should either cost no resin or never go above 30 resin, I’m trying to get solvents for Columbina and that shit doesn’t drop, spending 60 resin on random weekly bosses and getting nothing sucks.
Genshin has 13 weekly bosses now. It's all good and fine for those of us who have been playing for the past 5 years or so and a have a build-up of mats but for newer players? The system is practically rigged against them.
This isn't 2.0 anymore there are too many weekly bosses for the existing system to be anything other than completely unfair. I don't even understand the point of it tbh because there's no way for the company to profit off it. You can't spend primos to get another chance.
In that game you're not locked in fighting only ONE different boss 3x per week, you get to fight ANY boss you pick 3 times without energy. After you used all 3 up, you'll need 60 energy per fight if you want to farm for more mats.
You get 3 free runs per week with every run after costing 60 and you can do the same boss as many times as you want. It’s perfect.
I dont see the need to 10/10/10 just to complete content except for completion sake.
If the devs want to? cool. If not, to me not really an issue either.
so rare i got over 100 and i throw them around for fun sometimes...
But you also average one a week if you just do your 3 kills, so unless you only farm weekly bosses specifically when you need their mats, it shouldn't be an issue... I've got like 200 lying around.
They’ve decided that it’s gonna stay
Plus if the devs did give everything quickly to players the word boring/bored would be spammed 100x times more.
I got my columbina 8/8 talents on first day because of the first time clear rewards..
Hoyo doesn’t have infinite wisdom, and isn’t always right.
I envy people who doesn't max their talents 😭 a friend of mine has 50+ solvents
There is stuff we asked from the beginning of the game and none of it yet. There is stuff from HSR/ZZZ they can just copy , but don't. As long as Genshin keeps making good money, the devs won't care about QoL, and the sad reality is they really don't have to.
