Need a tip

Hi all! :)

I’m pretty new to the game and I’m trying to unlock Xiangling by clearing the Spiral Abyss Floor 3.

Floor 1 was pretty easy (except for those damn hihe shield guys🥲), but I saw that on Floor 2 the enemies level is 40 and I don’t want to waste resources leveling characters I’ll replace soon, so I’d like some advice on the most efficient team for now. :)

I currently have:

Jean (LV30)

Beidou (LV30)

Fischl (LV30)

Kaeya (LV19)

Traveler (Geo/Anemo)

Barbara

Noelle

Chevreuse

Amber

Lisa

Dehya

The ones with the levels next to them are in my current team. I'm not totally sure about Kaeya, I was planning to replace him with Xiangling, so I didn't level him that much. So yesterday before going off I replaced him with Chevreuse (I love this character!).

What's the best team I can make to get to Xiangling?

I know that the point of the game is to have fun, and I'm having A LOT of fun with this game. The world and the story are wonderful. But I also want to be more efficient and have a better understanding of the gameplay. :)

You could do a good overload comp with what you have. Dehya OR Beidou/Chevreuse/Fischl/ (Ideally Bennett) You can play on field Dehya/Beidou for now

May I ask? Do you care about meta.

Cause on the hand that you don't, then early game levels don't use that many resources and since most units can clear abyss, never mind overworld, I wouldn't worry to much about a waste.

If you do care about meta, the endgame is basically locked unless you have 32 characters in 3 elements ( element changes per month) to play. So your recommend to level all units anyway

Though I don't know if that helps much so, you can try a overload comp with beidou, fischl, dehya, cheveruse but in reality it's not a good team. You just don't have the units for a good team currently :(

I care relatively. I prefer to use the characters I like, but at the same time I can play like 1 or 2 hours per day so I don't want to waste time trying to do something again and again that I might do in 1 try with a better team.

Like, I don't necessarily want to play only with the best characters. I mostly care not to play with only the bad ones. :)

If your repeating things it's more likely your builds. Like your pretty early to do abyss so your not the strongest Thier, nothing about your units

So I would focus on builds not characters

For now I didn't have to repeat anything, everything was easy, sometimes hard enough to be fun too. :)

I just wanted to spend my resources mindfully. I upgraded Jean, Beidou and Fischl because I like them and I know they're good characters, I was looking for a 4th character to upgrade even if I'll replace it with Xiangling, but I wanted it to be at least a good character so I might use it again in the future. I don't know if it makes sense 🥲

Jean can be a pretty worthwhile healer in a lot of scenarios. Id level her. Shes good for comfort, if you encounter something that does a little too much damage+ can hold VV as an artifact which gets enemy resistance down, from the element she swirls.
Kaeya would need a different team, in this setup youd rather level Jean.
Jean, Beidou, Fischl, Chevy. And replace Jean with Xiangling, but have the option of using Jean for other teams that appeciate a healer/ dont have a shielder already.

Just a quick question: why Chevy over Dehya?

I got her for free, I could choose another character but I really liked her. Finding out how important are 5-star characters and that she's basically awful killed me😂🥲

Ok, after a bit more in depth research, as I dont own either Beidou or Dehya, I found out, that my assumption of playing Beidou as an on-field dps is wrong. She is even more effective if played as a subdps Therefore.... to explain my sight. You dont have many Electro options for off field application.

So I would have chosen the electro dps. But she works from off field.
So my new thoughts would go more like: Dehya, Beidou... and then theres the problem. Your team would love Chevy.. if:

it is only made up of electro and pyro characters. Chevreuse buffs the overload reaction a really fair bit, so for playing an overload team shes an optimal choice.

But to proc overload you still want enough electro uptime to actually.. yknow, proc overload as a reaction. I dont think Beidou has enough electro application and Chevreuse is sadly Pyro.

So slotting in Fischl for more electro you loose the slot for Xiangling. Her pro is providing a ton of Pyro and great damage, but you already have so much pyro.
There are mono pyro teams, whoch I dont play as a archetype, but maybe Beidous electro is enough if you live with proccing overload less times. Or you use Fischl instead of Beidou.

Try them out and decide which one does more damage/ works best.

And I thought Dehya is not leveled/ not liked, cause she was at the very bottom. So thats as far as I thought...

Oh and just to warn you, if Dehya is the on-field dps she needs lots of Energy Recharge(ER) to burst every rotation. Her burst does most of her damage, so youll choose Emblem of severed fate as an artifact set for her and that will buff her burst by 25% of her ER which works very well for her. (Xiangling and I think even Beidou like this artifact set aswell, so you can farm for all three, which is perfect.) All want like 200, Xiangling maybe more ER.

Just ignore abyss for now. Come back when you've leveled up a bit more and you should breeze through the first few levels. Also, you can buy 1 Xiangling from Paimon's Bargains for 34 Masterless Starglitter (through the end of the month).
