Not directly related, but the fate of the Iridescent Moon became so much more tragic after seeing what sort of person Sonnet was. And that conversation where the moon marrow called Columbina "Hypo" makes a lot more sense.

I feel it is less of a reincarnation and more like the moon naturally making a new goddess. As for why it has to be 5500 years after Canon was imprisoned (500 years ago) is still not yet clear to me.

That's the missing piece, the story never seems to have explained why she was born. Unlike the rest of it she didn't cause her own birth, so what did? "500 years ago" can't just be a coincidence; it must have related to the cataclysm somehow just like everything else that happened "500 years ago". I'm stumped on how they are related, though.

The only related occurrence is Tholindis and Rerir going to the moon's reflection through the Moon Gate causing the prison to become unstable and triggering the Frost Moon to have a small burst of power to birth a new goddess, but that’s not confirmed.

Especially with how Nilou is the most tolerant and understanding character in the whole game. She never judges anyone. She is one of the rare characters who doesn't insult Paimon, too.

I loved Sonnet’s character (I loved all 3, but Sonnet really stood out for me). Her story is so tragic and she and her sisters were victims to both the Heavenly Principles and Nibelung.
It was so sad that Columbina couldn’t warn her about not giving herself to the Abyss. Knowing that she was so scared to die and then that she had to endure being held by the Abyss for thousands of years makes the whole situation much worse.
I truly wished they could have made it out alive.
