Playable Rerir?

Hoyo loves a character development bad characters turn good, after him and Columbina came to terms during the newest archon quest, how wild do you think is the idea if him becoming playable in the future? Like in the Khaenria storyline for example

Wouldn't make sense for story reasons. He is stuck in a place where time flows backwards and only Columbina was able to move (relatively) freely in it and only managed to return to the present by some timey wimey shenanigans involving the trilunar divinity I don't fully understand myself.

Plus, the last shot with him and Tholindis was probably as definite of a sendoff as a character can get in Genshin.

I wouldnt want it even tho i kinda like Rerir-Tholindis story. I dont want Genshin to become the generic anime where every villain dead or alive, eventually becomes an ally and we will get playable Rerir, Dottore or Signore. Let the finished storylines rest in peace and dont rehash the same villain 5 times- introduce new ones with proper buildup instead.

Dude he's trapped and can never get out just like his wife. Only Columbina could leave because of her unique case of being able to move freely through that space and having the moons authority. Rerir rather spend the rest of his life with his wife and to atone for what he did. Just like Capitano like this immortal man finally rest.

People hate Azar and think he should get executed for high treason against Nahida. He was an old guy , if he was hot handsome man i guess people will try find excuse to forgive him and make him playable.

It is hypocrite people only tolerated villain that has caused child genocide , far worse than Azar because he is hot and handsome.

Did they took abyss power and created abyss anomaly like wild hunt, terrorized and killed many Nod Krai people for 500 years and the threat still exist even until now.

So every villain can get white washed no matter how crazy their crime is as long they are saying " sorry"......

Also if you forgive Rerir or tolerate him, then you should also tolerate every single every evil npc in genshin like Azar for example or that Vacher guy that killed many woman and turned them to oceanid.

Would you have done anything different were you in Rerir's shoes?

Born an orphan and raised in a government institute to serve as the Vinster King's hidden blade.

Serve a King who is not just powerful, but getting madder as the day goes by, where displeasing him would be met by extreme punishment.

Love a person after your entire life of not knowing what love feels like, only to find her on your assassination list.

Have your fear and paranoia magnified by some eldritch forces, which is also manipulating everyone else in your kingdom.

Chase the person you love into a space unknown after gaining the power necessary to do so, only to be torn apart into a million pieces.

Have fragments of your body scattered all over Nod Krai where they would turn into the Wild Hunt, not that you have a choice in the matter.

Have Dottore collect fragments of your body and resurrected in an incomplete form that is insane and driven by obsession, due to being incomplete and Abyssal influence.

At what point would you have done anything differently? At what point CAN you have done anything differently?

The difference between Rerir and Azar, Dottore, even playable characters such as Nefer or Childe, is that his actions are relatable and they make perfect sense.

I too would have done what Rerir did, if not more than what he did, in his position, in the name of love.

Again, you seem extremely critical of Rerir, but I ask you again, are you not a hypocrite? Can you fight back MEANINGFULLY when your loved ones are not in danger? Would you fight back despite you might lose your comfortable life?

You have to remember, Rerir isn't built like the Traveler or any of those grand characters whose moral compasses are frankly abnormal. Rerir is a normal person, much like you or I. So can you go assassinate a wealthy person whose company is exploiting the poor right now? Or can you go take down a world leader whose policies and decision making is steering the world towards WW3? If you cannot then, you're as big a hypocrite as Rerir.

If i was smart and strong like Rerir who have knight training and going to school then yes i will find a way to escape such shitty life. Rerir was one of elite executioner and was really good at espionage or information network. There is many way for him to fight back especially when Dainsleff and many Khaneriah knight decided to rebel because they are tired and hating the king tyranny. So rallying others is actually not that hard.

If i can't fight back or kill the king then i can just run away or such rather than killing children as a way of living. He choose that life, he know he have option to run or such but he don't want to leave his comfort life and afraid of getting hunted down.

I like the idea, but i'd put it as 0% chance since Hoyo has never made a character in a confirmed relationship playable. Rerir’s ending is the best ending he as it is since he's already reunited with his love in some way, and erasing that just to make him playable would just cheapen the emotional ending.

And if they did go that route, they’d either have to kill him off (wc is already impossible unless they do an asspull) and make a new character based on him and double down that they’re not the same person like what they did with a married character in HI3 to make her playable.

For Alice, the only thing we know is Klee is her kid. Her husband isn’t really brought up in the story except for that one line from 5 years ago that could easily be retconned if she becomes playable. Rerir is different because his relationship is confirmed and is a big part of his story.

Well... he and Guizhong (if that's who you're referring to) are only fanon and not confirmed. In fact, I remember some of their lore was even removed from beta cuz CN girlies were really mad that they are being hinted at and are close friends. So I believe something similar will happen to Alice.

Frankly I choose to remain delusional. The chances are close to zero, but that weird drip marketing art keeps me up at night. I mean, come on, Varka is 100% confirmed as playable and he still doesn't have his official drip marketing art, only teases.
Either there were plans for Rerir to be playable at some point and they were abandoned, or he's still going to be.

As much as I'm against Rerir being Playable, for Narrative Reasons, it's honestly kind of crazy that we never actually saw him...die. I mean, they LITERALLY make it a point that he's ALIVE within the Reflection. Crazier still? He's still Strong enough to get rid of the Abyss in Columbina's path, in a place where nothing but Moon Goddesses seem to be able to survive.

Not only that, that 6th Character in the Silhouette Teaser, is a REFLECTION. Now, where is the ONLY space IN-GAME that we just...I dunno...see a BUNCH of Reflection...? Ahhhh, you're seeing it now, aren't you? He's got a Tall Male Model already In-Game, a Weapon (Polearm), he's REFLECTING on his Past Sins the last we see him? Hell, the Silhouette Teaser literally looks IDENTICAL to the Moon's Reflection Space. He's also Insanely Popular in the Community.

I dunno, if I were Hoyo? The ONLY one that literally fits into that slot in almost everywhere would be Rerir. They could even spin his Redemption Arc, write it in a way where he's trying to find a purpose BEYOND Tholinidis. Also, Columbina is a Tri-Goddess now AND on the other part of the Gate. If she wanted to, she could totally pull out Rerir and become his Nahida. But again, doubtful. I just find it kinda crazy that he had a fleshed out Story, Past, Model, Boss Fight, Weapon, etc. and...that's it? He's just...PRESUMABLY Dead off screen? Why not just Kill him from the get go when he was tossed into the Gate? Why make it an EFFORT to show he's Alive, Regretful, and still PHYSICALLY Capable within the Space?
