Both. Craft until you get a 4-line starter with perfect or near-perfect base subs. It will roll shit. Then you reroll your 4-line artifacts with perfect base subs, then they reroll shit. Repeat.

Are two sub stats out of 4 on a 5 liner artifact considered near perfect?
I-LEWDED-MY-SISTER2026-01-19 19:50
I'd try for at least 3. Double crit then whatever their main scaling stat is (ATK%, HP%, EM). The 4th is usually just gravy like ER or EM for non-EM scalers, you can opt out of that realistically. Feathers are precious and I just couldn't see myself settling for just 2, but to each their own.

No, I personally wouldn't roll artefact without 3 stats that character for whom I roll needs (so most of the time no flat atack, flat hp, nor any Def). And of course never roll artefact that starts with 3 substats.

There are 5 liners tho? Unless youre considering main stat as a line?
NarwhalWeird1772026-01-19 20:20
I meant 5 rolls on substats
jonnevituwu2026-01-19 20:29
Oh so you mean 4subs at lvl 0
Theres an... opportunity cost on doing this, yes ofc if it has rolled shit you should try to fix it cuz it has more rolls than a 3 liner that became a 4 liner after lvl 4
But sometimes with a single reroll you reach a point where the stats are good in a way that it would be better for you to move on and fix another, probably worse artifact for the other slots. Like, Ive got a bunch of 6/23, 12/14 pieces, they are quite decent if you have a good crit ratio and all that so finding a worse piece to fix would maybe give you better results.
Im an 1.0 player and Ive got a single piece that is like, 14/23 and it is a feather, one of the easier ones and I got it a long ass time ago lol

You should really only use feathers on good artifacts that roll into bad stats. Such as double crit artifacts that have rolled 2+ times into flat stats or other useless stats (like ER on Mavuika).
NarwhalWeird1772026-01-19 19:10
Well for example, my escoffier has a 5liner stats sands with cr/cd/atk/def. Is this considered worth rolling? I never know if base attack is actually a good stat
CorrectOlive43842026-01-19 19:27
Ideally you want to use it on a piece that starts with 4 subs and they cover all the ones you would want on it, but its not like you’re making a horrible mistake just cuz you’re missing the atk percentage especially if escoffier is not a character you plan to min max and getting good enough is fine for you. I know a few people who have used the feathers for a piece that only had double crit and were very satisfied cuz after that they could consider the character built and move on. Of course tho if we are speaking strictly optimally, then yea u can wait til u get one where all the subs u want on it are there and its a 4 liner as well.
BoughKeeper2026-01-19 19:10
5 rollers, or atleast double crit goblet or sands
KuShiroi2026-01-19 19:13
Reshaping is good for when you already have the specific piece with the main and sub stats that you like but the rng rolled upgrades into unwanted sub stats. Crafting is good for when you don't have the piece with the main and sub stats that you like and you don't want to grind and pray for the perfect piece that may or may not come.
