Have you gotten/started using a character you don't like for another character?

Title. Pretty much, what character you dislike (for whatever reason) or felt very indifferent about that you pulled for one of your fav characters/teams, that otherwise you would not be found dead getting them?

Mine was Ineffa. I don't hate her nor dislike her but I barely cred about her (gameplay wise) until I found out Flins loves having her in the team. Again, no hating Ineffa, I just am very indifferent about her, even though I know she is very strong.

I don't hate any character, but Bina is only on my account to apply good hydro/give buffs for my flins, and for some goofy overvape Mavuika teams. Otherwise I wouldn't have pulled for her

Yes, in the earlier days. But now, there are more options, like i can use iansan instead of bennett, or xilonen instead of kazuha

Hmmm I like to collect characters and don't outright hate everyone, but... I will admit that I don't really gaf about Yelan, but until/unless Columbina comes home, she will live in my Flins team

I got Lauma for Nefer

No regrets gameplay-wise, but there's no way I would have pulled her if her kit wasn't so completely busted

It's the dendro way, Alhaitham(rip) was the same with Nahida

You could at least kinda counterbalance needing lauma with Nefer sig and cons, her early cons are SUPER strong, but now that columbina exists, lauma is just objectively the best dendro unit with no competition in the bracket

But I cannot get over her character design, it's just Too Much

I don't really hate her but I do use Sucrose only because she boosts my Flins' damage. I'd replace her in a heartbeat if there was an upgrade to her though. I'm kinda contemplating biting the bullet and just pulling Citlali for my Mav, Arle and Neuv but I don't think I can justify spending the pulls to get a character I genuinely dislike as much as Citlali lol

I got Furina to c2 for Neuvillette (I wanted her but she would have stayed at c0 if not for him). Also back in the day I Really disliked Xiangling but Childe had one (1) good team and it was international, she's free but I don't think I would have built her so early otherwise.

I like her character story and concept. And her kit is ok in general. But her design is just so mid, like they could've done more with her, based on her concept and she just feels sorta disappointing to me.

I liked Iansan in the story but never really cared about her buffs until I got Varesa. She's awesome, I underestimated my short queen, lol.

Mine is Ineffa as well.

I need her because without NK character Columbina is dogshit. This is actually what made me choose to go only for Columbina C0 rather than C6. An archon-level kit designed around heavy restrictions and corporate greed doesn't deserve that many of my primogems.

If it's someone I *hate*, I will not get them no matter what they do, even if they help my favorite. But I have gotten several characters I was indifferent about in the past for that specific purpose:

- I got Yelan to make Yoimiya less bad (though at this point I think I like Yelan more)

- I got Furina for my DPS Xianyun

- I pulled Mavuika entirely to be off field pyro for Emilie. I refuse to use her on field because I hate fighting on the bike

- I literally just pulled Columbina because of how incredibly convenient she is for my Lauma/Nefer team. She's skill based with huge uptime--best QoL ever.

I didn't *hate* Yelan, Furina, or Mavuika. They were just, eh, fine. I really did dislike Columbina--especially her voice is annoying--but starting with those Sandrone bonks at the festival, she ended up charming me and I have a "just above neutral" opinion of her, now.

I got Mualani for no reason at all though, I don't even like her and only play her in the IT. I don't even remember why I pulled her in the first place because it wasn't an accident lol.

And on the opposite, I got a bunch of characters just for "fun" and utility without any intention to use them in a team: Xianyun C1 just to jump around the world mainly, and Gaming because he's fun to play in the overworld but I'll never purposely use him in a team (he was a 4 stars so it was a selector pick that lasted while exploring Chenyu Vale).

I like Ineffa’s character, don’t like her design, but the deciding factor for me to pull her was for the Bineffa wheelchair. It’s already paid off with Mizuki in the second half 36\*-ing Abyss with a lvl 60 Bineffa core.

Same with Escoffier - Don’t like her design, meh about her character, but she made Ayaka meta(-ish) again, so I’ll take it.

Yup, I got Ineffa otherwise I would have to use Aino which is pretty meh or Jahoda which I like but she can be unreliable.

I can't complain with the result but with no Glem Moon lvl I would have done nicely with my beloved Fischl.

This is what's going to happen to me when Lauma comes back for her rerun.

I just... can't like her. I don't dislike her either, it's just... I find it hard to care about her character. She's just a regular nice person type of character, no edge, nothing particularly 'interesting' in her writings.

But if I want my Nefer to do respectable damage, she needs Lauma. I'm so annoyed at how big the difference is for Nefer, with or without Lauma. I really like Nefer. I want to provide her with the best team. But I can't do that without Lauma.

I will see what happens later, because as of now, my top priority is getting C6 Varka and I have saved my primogems for him. If I get him without too much fuss and primogems to spare, I would probably pull Lauma in the end.

Normally I don't, I was neutral on Ineffa to start off. I pulled her for Flins, but the more I got to know her and looking at her ingame model she's pretty cute especially the hair buns. So she had rown on me by the time Flins' banner came around.

A close second is Escoffier. I considered grabbing her for my Wrio and Neuvi but ultimately decided against it because I dont care for or about her.

Don't get me wrong, I liked her story a lot, her design is just not my thing at all.

Iansan too. I've been hopeful with her, but the resulting character was nothing like I imagined. Ironic that she now serves a character I thought I wouldn't like at all, but ended up adoring so much (Varesa).

Yeah, I'd never do something like that for character I disliked or was indifferent to. Even if my fav was basically a dedicated 4\* support for said character, I'd rather just run them as a mdps instead of pulling just to fully use them for a character I barely care about.

There has to be some likability or it's just not happening.

Fischl. Keep in mind I started after some of the summer events where she got more story, so I did not like her personality and did not understand her playstyle. Even though I had her I never built her and never played her.

Later I learned how her kit worked and started using her a bit more, then I learned more about her as a character. I wouldn't say I love her, but I understand who she is and the character she represents and I respect that. Now she's been in several of my teams over the years and I don't regret building her.

I’m going to get downvoted to hell for this but Furina. She wasn’t my favorite, I don’t really even passively like her. She’s just kinda there, and even at times thought she was slightly annoying. All my friends and ppl I know love her though so I’ve learned to shut up when they start complimenting her. Got her solely for my Xiao, and no regrets (even have her c1) but yeah don’t really like Furina at all

Ineffa had exactly 90 pulls to come home. I don't dislike her, but same as you, only pulled her for Flins. Columbina however, I actively dislike (no hate to anyone who loves her) and will not be pulling for. Not even for Flins.
