What's the point of reshaping artifacts even?

I was trying to build better Crit Rate for my Skirk, and decided to reshape one of my best artifacts to hopefully make it better. HOW COME IT MADE IT WORSE EVEN IF IT UPGRADED THE SAME F'ing SUB STATS???!! I literally can't make this results sheet up..

It's only a 3 like start and 4 roller anyways, so using a feather on it to begin with isn't really worth it.
These feathers are one of the best QoL; is stupid spit on it only for a bad episode. In HSR we have a similar item (Dices) and I used it on a Elemental piece: 4 dices before to have 3 rolls on the Crit stats (that shitty piece avoided FIVE time CD and all the time HP and ATK got at least 3 rolls...)
