From a meta perspective ranging from 3.3-3.8, and every main DPS at C0.

The king of the meta was Alhaitham, he was the #1. People weren’t as attached to him as they were to HuTao, especially because he was a husbando, his gameplay was more technical and required some brain, so people didn’t really pay much attention to him, some agreed he was #1, just didn’t bother to pull, the others still argued HuTao was better. HuTao, obviously was #2, was nowhere near falling off at this point in time. #3 we had Ayaka, who had a prevalent freeze team, no arguments here. For #4 we have Xiao, who had a very minuscule difference in DPS from Scaramouche. #5 we have Scaramouche.

What followed after Scaramouche were Cyno, Tighnari, Ganyu. If you’re asking why Tartaglia and Nilou aren’t here, their roles aren’t to be Main DPS. Nilou’s Main DPS playstyle(the NA infusion) goes unused to this day. International’s main DPS was technically Xiangling but it was only for a niche.

Raiden at C0… was never a good main DPS. Sorry.

What can you do with all this information? Well, nothing. I just found it funny to notice that Scaramouche was definitely overlooked and even trashed on once he came out, but still had very good stats for a main DPS of his time, even if he wasn’t at Alhaitham, HuTao, or Ayaka’s level. Main DPS were almost always compared to HuTao or Alhaitham, because they were the top damage dealers.

Just like how in these days, Mavuika is the one Main DPS are compared with, because she’s the top damage dealer.

In today’s date, Scaramouche, and honestly a lot of other DPS I mentioned at the beginning of the post, have already fallen off, with some being able to compete in the Abyss at a certain circumstance. Scaramouche is probably not one of them without constellations, but it still is a funny thing to look for. Outliers in the meta. Certainly you can still use Clorinde in our meta today, right?
