Genshin Impact : Prince route vs. Peasant route
I was thinking about the two ways people play this game.
On one side, you have the **Prince route**. This is the **whale** life—**C6 R5**, throwing money at everything, and just having the "shebang" ready on day one. It’s flashy and definitely a different kind of reality.
On the other side, you have the **Peasant route**. The **F2P** life. This is for the players who are super meticulous. You’re hording every single primo, researching which characters actually help your account, and waiting for that one perfect moment to go all in. Honestly, the payoff feels amazing because you actually worked for it and planned it out.
**One thing they both have in common, though? They both answer to RNG.** Whether you’re throwing thousands of dollars or thousands of saved gems, the artifact grind and that 50/50 screen don't care about your status. We're all at the mercy of the roll in the end.
At the end of the day, it’s a **symbiotic relationship**. Without the whales, we wouldn’t have high-quality free games, so it is what it is — just **the reality of gaming**.
Which side of the split are you guys on ?
**PS : Question for the Veterans :** Since it’s 2026 and the roster is massive now, what advice do you have for newcomers trying to stay F2P? Who are the "must-haves" to pull for in this meta, and what should they avoid doing early on?

Just get who you want and have fun playing.
In game content is not hard to clear with a decent builded team so I'd just say enjoy playing and have fun.
It's a fun game. It has a lot going for it. If you enjoy the story and the gameplay and the world, you'll have a good time. Pull the characters you think look nice or are fun to play or will help you progress, and every new character will feel like a great help
If you play the game as a gambling simulator, and only care about the dopamine hit from pulling five stars, everything will feel like a burden getting in the way of more new characters, and bad luck will make you rage
Genshin is designed from the ground up to be casual-friendly. You don't need the newest hottest characters to play the game, enjoy the story, or explore the world. Just have fun with it.
And if ur fave thing in the game is seeing big numbers and u don't care abt which characters u play then just ignore what I said.
But it might differ from person to person, so I think people should know what they actually want long term and know what to how to rank meta, aesthetics, and kit design by priority. If they just focus on one aspect, they might later on regret a character because they found the character lacking in at least one part they actually care more about.
"Pull who you like" is a good advice but I think people shouldn't pull on impulse, specially if you're F2P. I'm an occasional welkin user but I still look at leaks to properly plan my pull priorities and I always save for guarantee because I really hate the feeling of running out of pulls. If I can't guarantee a character, I'd skip the banner entirely.
Also never pull just for the 4star if you don't want to get the 5star.
And what are your :
Favorites that stayed favorites ?
Favorites that turned out not so great after all ?
Overall :
Your favorite main DPS characters and your favorite support characters ?
Raiden was my favorite before she even released. I like electric element in all games and knowing there's an electro archon got me sold instantly. I got her C3R1 (I honestly got lucky though I did lose all 5 of my 50/50s before her) so she still clears floor 12 and fearless unless she gets hard countered.
In a vacuum, I still like Cyno but considering I have Keqing, a standard character, I do regret pulling for him. He's just too close to team comps and playstyle to Keqing while also not being versatile nor that far ahead of her so any content I would've played him, I'd rather play Keqing.
Meta-wise, I do like Mavuika and Skirk and they're my go-to for when I just want to get things done. Otherwise, I try to avoid using them since they're just really strong. For exploration, Chasca, Xilonen, and Xianyun are really fun and convenient. I put at least one of them on my exploration team for when I explore a new area with Traveler (world quest immersion), a local specialty radar, and last slot as flex, usually another exploration character. But overall, probably still Raiden. My bias for her is just too great.
As for the other 5stars that never been, or have been overtaken in the meta (Ayato, Xiao, HuTao, etc.) or replaced in the exploration team (Wanderer, Venti, Kazuha), I don't regret pulling them since I had fun playing them and if I skipped them knowing they'd be replaced later, I don't think I'd have enjoyed the game as much back then.
I envy you for playing on the big screen. must be such a qualify of life difference. and you would know since you play in both pc and mobile on the go.
btw what constellation you would recommend for Raiden, i like her too, her burst is godly and her skill has been mighty helpful, there nothing to hate about her.
Yeah i see Mavuika, i like her power and i love to collect the archons and since Diluc i haven't gotten any one that matches his energy but i have Hu Tao at least and she's been good to me plus i was lucky with her signature weapon won 50/50 and i will take this win and never wish on the weapon banner ever again cause that thing is very scary since pity doesn't carry over.
But i digress, back to Mavuika, so she's on my priority list as the next DPS to hunt for since Neuvillette was the last one i got and i couldn't be any more happier, he's been such a step to my account and his playstyle is very comfy.
PS : when Mavuika and Skirk released i was burnt out of Genshin so i still need to do some research to be up to speed.
For real exploration with Xilonen has been a relief after so many long climbs and stressing over stamina. love that gliding DJ so much. also finally someone that give reason to care about DEF stats 😂.
For me, my love goes to the Samurai Princess Herself, Kamisato Ayaka still my favorite, i like everything about her, on the road to get her C2, i am 2 weeks away from getting her C1.
No worries my friend i too sometimes need someone to remind me to just enjoy the game and the characters, that's why i had to get venti way later in the game, i still use him to this day in exploration especially and combat sometimes. Also this reminded me about Noelle, she was so good to me before Zhongli replaced her and made the game almost too easy for a while.
Man, Genshin has taken a place in my heart same as One Piece and it's gonna hurt when it's gonna end. and watching Frieren was really the hint i needed to enjoy the moment because i don't have a long time on earth, since i'm only human (Rag N Bone Reference).
I personally wouldn't recommend going for Raiden anymore unless you actually just want her. Her C2 is a good stopping point and her signature isn't really a necessity as The Catch or Favonius Lance are great 4star alternatives. But even with C3R1, she's only just a bit stronger than my C0R0 Clorinde on some situations and a C0R0 Varesa with the right team could easily get to or even surpass my C3R1 Raiden's performance. I skipped Varesa but I can't deny how strong she is.
Mavuika is strong but her main strength (or weakness) is her combos. A C0R0 Mavuika can reach something like 130k+ DPS if built and played properly but it's something a casual player would struggle to get to. Meanwhile, NK DPS teams get to around 100-130k DPS with barely any effort. A Columbina+Ineffa wheelchair could get too at least 80k DPS with almost any character, 100k+ if the character either contributes to lunar damage or does decent personal damage. I still think Mavuika is the DPS ceiling but I think her floor is lower than NK teams.
If you're really into Ayaka, Coffee's a really good character for her, or just any cryo DPS in general. I only have C0 Ayaka but I still use her in abyss unless it's a bad match for her.
Every player should really think about what they actually want in genshin and know what to prioritize when choosing which characters to pull for. Some just get swept away by hype and meta that they pull for characters they don't actually like.
