Do you suppose Hoyo will have to skip an Inazuma event this year due to RL politics? I hope not.

I don't know if the situation between China and Japan has softened at all, but given how HSR had to change Planarcadia, I doubt things have smoothed over. As a result, Genshin doing an Inazuma-centric event this year might get them in trouble with the government, who seem intent on quashing Japan-related media at the moment.

So, do you think it's possible we may be forced to have no Inazuma event this year? That'd ***really*** suck if that were the case.

what do you think they changed about 'planarcadia'? because the latest leaked environments, npcs, enemies, music etc are all very japanese.

They probably had to lower the amount of influences compared to their original vision. I think I also saw a rumor that they had to remove Pearl of the Stonehearts from the 4.X storyline due to her parallels with the Japanese Prime Minister.

I'm probably wrong, though.

I think the reason they keep going back to Saurians is that they offer unique movement options, but in an accessible and familiar way, unlike characters where you can be thrown entirely in the deep end unless you own them.
