Is the Fatui HQ subreddit just insane?

Every single post I see there is actively whining about how Columbina isn’t an eldrich horror and is instead a moon goddess. They’re calling it a retcon and use that word like a slur. Like… it isn’t? Nowhere is it confirmed that she was supposed to be an eldrich horror, and EVERYTHING is explained by the in game chapter.

Just because she’s not what you thought she would be does not make her and all of Nod Krai the worst things to ever happen to Genshin

Don't treat them seriously and treat them as comedy for your own sanity. So best to just let them do their thing an

Besides any post about them brought on this sub gets removed due to auto mod after mass reports so even more reason to just treat them as their own seculiar thing

Nientea2026-01-20 02:47

Fr they’re treating years old leaks as canon lore

furinaphile2026-01-20 03:05

More like headcanon fanon as canon lore lol.

Corvozz2026-01-20 02:55

"Comedy"? Tell me you used that as a reference for commedia dell'arte because that is how I exactly see the people that post in there. That and because I genuinely can't belive there is so much hate in that subreddit.

Nientea2026-01-20 04:59

BRO YOU WERE RIGHT THEYRE INSANE

BidDaddyLei2026-01-20 02:52

Cult sub reddit ignore them. There was a time where that group is actually funny now its just full of doom posting, agenda pushing. Wait till the Tsaritsa isn't going to turn out based on their head canon that group would explode.

_hhs2026-01-20 03:58

bro real i genuinely enjoyed scrolling that subreddit back then and now its just like wtf is happening to this place, i had to leave

Ill-Hold64212026-01-20 04:23

People realized they could whine there and their posts would be less likely to be removed over there. Eventually a lot more people joined and it became what it is now.

Iihatepineapplepizza2026-01-20 04:00

like its literally a gacha game, if they think that the tsaritsa is gonna turn out anything other than amicable with the traveller, they're coping. You gotta temper your expectations with these games lol

edit: ok well it kinda sounds like im saying that you can't criticize the (admittedly) bad writing, but that's not my point. I just think they need to calm down a bit 😭

edit2: i didnt edit fast enough they're after me 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

andrewlikereddit2026-01-20 04:19

Oh so it wasn't always like that?
I got depressed scrolling that sub reddit

_hhs2026-01-20 05:47

personally it started going downhill during natlan with the capitano mavuika situation but it was still tolerable, and then columbina happened

ForeverOutrageous2026-01-20 02:54

I never get why people complain about opinions from other subreddits/platforms on this subreddit. Who cares what a small corner of the internet thinks. It’s kinda a wasted discussion and it legitimately makes NO ONE happy to see. I’m not on FatuiHQ; so I don’t WANT to see posts *about* it. That includes on this one. Plus it makes a toxic environment when subreddits make posts constantly digging on each other. Unless a subreddit is GENUINELY toxic or disgusting (like many of the subreddits of the “Loli” characters.) I could care less what drama they stir up in their own communities.

Corvozz2026-01-20 02:58

Yeah, that place works in mysterious ways that I cant belive

jotarD42026-01-20 03:00

jesus christ can we be in our own sub without you people complaining about it? people have the right to be disappointed and also have the right to post about it in their safe space, mind your own business

Fabulous_Ground_19832026-01-20 04:11

Stay out of this one, Sloptui HQ drone

CHILLED_02026-01-20 04:23

wah my head canon was retconned

IxravenxI2026-01-20 03:00

welcome to reddit. if you don't like how that subreddit turned out just unfollow them.

Zenzero-2026-01-20 03:10

Like every other subreddit? Yes.

Seth-Phiroth2026-01-20 03:10

Don't take them too seriously, their complaining comes mostly on how their headcanon wasn't true, at least for Bina case, it sounds that those headcanon made more harm than good

Ginsmoke32026-01-20 03:11

She was waifu bait.

Making her complex characters gonna be risky if people dislike her because of that, so Hoyo needs to tone her down to naive and innocent girl personality.

Common-Chip-49282026-01-20 03:16

1) she can be waifu bait and that doesn't mean she isn't a complex character

2) you can hardly call the headcanon version "complex" in fact it's not, the word you're looking for is "unique" (relative to all genshin playable that is)

Ginsmoke32026-01-20 03:28

She "can" ?

She already is...a waifu bait, it is already a fact. People pulls for her because she is beautiful, she is cute and innocent, she is moon goddess, so amazing i can play a cute godess.

Complex character is like Arlechinno for example.

Common-Chip-49282026-01-20 03:42

Columbina used to have the same view regarding relationships as dottore, one went through a whole 20 hours of development and changed their view and one acted as an antagonist who challenged her. Both characters have flaws, internal conflict but fatui hq will only admit that only one of them is "complex" (because the word you're all looking for is "edgy" not "complex")

Ginsmoke32026-01-20 04:00

Sure but my point still stand, she is waifu bait whereever she is complex or not as characters.

I bet only minority people gonna pull her if she was just an old lady playable characters.....

Are you saying she is not waifu and there is other reason people pulls her ? Please elaborate if you think she is not waifu characters.

Common-Chip-49282026-01-20 04:08

Sure, she is but your original comment just sounded like "a waifu character can't be complex and hoyo chose waifu instead of complex" and that's why I responded because hoyo chose both (you can say that they play it safe sure I won't argue with that)

Ravemst2026-01-20 03:18

Ignore them it will save you some braincells.

Tamamo_was_here2026-01-20 03:25

They have slowly turned into the crazy sub, I would suggest acting like it's not real. They have overtime just started hating everything about the characters.

MaeveOathrender2026-01-20 03:45

You wouldn't believe how easy it is to not see or think about FatuiHQ. I do it every day.

...except when someone imports the drama to a subreddit I *do* frequent because they can't help themselves.

Cut it out.

Regal_The_King2026-01-20 03:46

Yes, they don’t even know what their own purpose is now.

anarchy7532026-01-20 03:50

I'm tempted to agree to a point. I don't need her to be an eldritch horror per se, but they definitely built her up early on, and what we got instead is just exceptionally safe and bland.

No but seriously, you guys are frothing over like the 14th "teehee, I like traveller, I never have any conflict with anything seen as 'good,' and all of my problems are solved by the power of friendship."

maxwellreformed2026-01-20 03:54

Tbh when the "winter night" teaser came out she seemed kinda wierd leaning on a coffin singing + Childe advising us not to start anything with her cuz even hes scared so idk

DevolayS2026-01-20 04:05

Childe was just being reasonable and cautious, she was very mysterious and had the power of a moon goddess, plus she was kinda "up in the clouds", probably acting weirdly and not able to socialize well, so of course he felt anxious around her, but people took it as a confirmation that she's some kind of ancient evil demon lol

acrylics72026-01-20 04:05

ive had a friend argue to me (who still i disagree with) that she should have been a biblically accurate angel like the fans wanted or hoped for since that one hoyofair fan animation. and i still stand by this, if you let fans write the franchise's story it would very likely be horrible.

huggingpotato2026-01-20 04:25

i mean what they did to the fatui as a org is pretty horrible already

uptodown122026-01-20 04:05

As much as i like the current story. I gotta say i kinda understand them

Like...what the fatui has became.

And i lowkey want Dottore to be back because i think he's currently the most entertaining villain

And i hope the rest of Fatui or even Tsarita won't be buddy buddy with traveler

Idainaru_Yokubo2026-01-20 04:10

No, they're still angry Mavuika beat Capitano

andrewlikereddit2026-01-20 04:25

Why do some people projected columbina as eldritch horror and stuff? Genuine questions

Nientea2026-01-20 04:29

“A Midnight Winter’s Lazzo” as well as Childe’s voice line on her.

Camper3312026-01-20 04:28

FatuiHQ is essentially a folk subreddit if you know what those are. Basically a subreddit where people critical of a series their fans of gather to voice their frustrations with it. One Piece a Jujutsu Kaisen have similar subreddits like Piratefolk and Jujutsufolk. While they can have legitimate complaints, they often devolve into circlejerking the same complaints and a downward spiral of negativity.

LibraProtocol2026-01-20 04:28

Have you seen them malding about Rosalyn being portrayed as something other than a cartoonishly evil villain? I’m sorry but tha sub is totally nonsensical

Turafo2026-01-20 04:29

They're the same people who wrote love letters to Jeffrey Dahmer back then

Something they imagined did not happen. That sub is exactly what happens when you become a copium addict

Big-Cauliflower-34302026-01-20 04:32

Just block the sub

AccomplishedHope37382026-01-20 04:36

I don't get why people post about other subreddits here constantly. Just mute the subreddit and move on 😭😭 people are allowed to talk about whatever they want in their own dedicated subreddit.

bruhhh_bama2026-01-20 05:01

Im so tired of seeing a random tiktok or reddit comment with like 2 likes getting blasted on here as if its the end of the world 😭 genuinely chronically online behavior

ForeverOutrageous2026-01-20 06:22

Exactly what I said too and they downvoted my comment to oblivion💀the people here sometimes are just as toxic as the people they loathe. Like I can’t imagine actually getting so pissed about a subreddit that I drag my complaint about it into ANOTHER subreddit.

Perfect_Increase87922026-01-20 04:39

1. Why do you care?
