Now that Miliastra Wonderland has some DPS-tester setups, do you think Hoyo should do their own?
It may not be necessary now that we have Wonderlands with which to test our DPS, but maybe Hoyo might be of the "don't make these, we'll do it ourselves" mindset. Then again, if they were going to do it, they probably would have by now.
It makes me wonder ***why*** they didn't make one themselves, though.

This would prevent people from overhyping certain characters or power couples, and also be significantly less affected by FOMO. They would know that even if they have suboptimal or outdated teams, they could clear endgame modes.
Example: Thanks to skill issued people who could achieve 30K DPS with premium teams due bad rotations, when Neuvillette came out a lot of people overrated him due to being able to achieve 60K even in the hands of an absolute dumbass, which created the illusion of an upgrade, whereas he was in the 5K region of current best teams before Furina was released. Furina's release pushed him further up and at that point people's minds melted and everybody was convinced that the game was going through a massive powercreep cycle and started doomposting about every single older unit. Of course, the synergy between Furina and Neuvillette was an isolated event and it didn't affect game's balancing and other characters could achieve good results with Furina too, but Hoyo already cashed in the FOMO brainrot before people realized that. Same thing happened with Arle release, Natlan power couple releases, etc.
Because it's easier to sell people a dream than a goal. A lot of people pulled Mavuika or Skirk thinking 150K DPS was automatic because they don't understand DPS for real. Characters like that are made so casual players can keep up with HP inflation without a lot of effort. Most players are casuals when it comes to combat, that includes a lot of players here who think they aren't.
If you have a boss with 20m HP, but it takes 3x damage from *Newest Character*, the actual DPS is pretty inconsequential.
The primary reason that damage numbers are displayed in RPGs to begin with is a form of feedback that appeals to a vast majority of players. Most players are casual gamers and would not engage with DPS trackers even if provided in-game, but still want to "feel" the progression and power of their characters/teams as they level them up and build them. Genshin does provide a lot of support towards more hardcore players, such as with in-game stat/build recommendations. However, these systems are rudimentary and can't encompass the wide range of variables that go into higher-level theorycrafting and DPS calculations, which are easier to leave to the community to develop.
The amount of people who would use it is miniscule, thus it is not worth the dev time to implement it.
That's it.
