Because of the vastness and constant expansion of our universe, any object that is light years away from Earth shows us a moment from the past.

For example our Sun, Its light takes about 8,2 minutes to reach us… that means we’re seeing what the Sun looked like 8 minutes ago, and stars and nebulae as they were millions of years ago!!
