I think at some point HP evolved into thinking they can think for themselves and gave up on helping thier purpose and got rid of (or split) thier code designed that cared about the twins and thats what became paimon (which honestly makes sense why she's too attached to us and makes full circle on us taking care of her just like how she took care of us)

If that were the case why would they have a genetic vault on their spaceship? It's much more likely that they are some sort of immortal species born from a star that for some reason is trying to save humanity.

I'm of the opinion that they're of the same or a similar species to Skirk. It explains the elemental affinity, kuuvahki affinity and abyssal affinity a little too well.

First of all, nothing suggests the ship is AI, rather it is actually sentient. Secondly, I don’t believe their ship is the actual HP. I think what is really going on is Khaenriah is what our ship tried to make but there’s another force, possibly very similar, that is overpowering it. That’s part of the reason the abyss twin is locked into Irminsul.
