What would be the strongest mono element team nowadays?

I was just looking a video of a guy trying to do the abyss with every mono element team and got curious to what would be the strongest one nowadays.

I guess Nod-Krai units are all out cause they are very tied to Lunar reactions, same for the Dendron element. Characters that depend on reactions like Nilou or Chasca also are out.

My guess is probably Geo, Pyro and Cryo (thanks to Escoffier). But I think Geo takes the lead in most cases unless you have a pretty good Mavuika with cons and sig, then Pyro maybe win. Other than those 3 I guess Hydro can work with Neuvillette but think it would be kinda underwhelming.

What are your thoughts on this?

True mono-element teams just aren't all that viable. Even meta comps that don't rely on reactions for damage, like Chevreuse or Skirk teams, still need to trigger a reaction to activate all of their buffs.

Although if all you mean by mono-element is that the damage comes from raw numbers and not reactions, then both of those would be good.

For me Cryo with Skirk. She is built to have other cryo characters. With Escoffier and Shenhe she is a powerhouse. Even Pyro with Mavuika is really good. The problem is that completely mono make them weaker compared to meta team. Mono Geo can be good because Geo doesn't have reaction (until Columbina) so I did some run with Navia, Chiori, Zhongli and Xilonen and they were good, but not high level. For Anemo I don't know, because I don't have a strong DPS for it so I can't say.

I'm talking about team with C0R0 characters. Anyway with this question I noticed that I need a Idro character for every team to be good. Dendro with Nefer, Lauma need an Idro for reaction, the same Electro. Even Cryo is better with at least one Idro. Now even Geo need Idro Columbina to do more damage. Maybe the only one that can stay without an Idro is Mavuika with Citlali, another Pyro (Bennet) and Xilonen, but maybe with Columbina even this team will be surpassed.

Pyro especially that Durin exists now. Mav Bennett Durin and somebody else. Got heals damage shred buffing…

Most likely PMC to charge Mavuikas ult, no other Pyro NS unut exists and Xianglings damage doesn't make up for missing a Mavuika ult every rotation.

Not the strongest but electro is pretty decent. Varesa + Iansan is still good. Ineffa is still good even if you ignore lunar reaction unlike the other lunar characters.

it used to be cryo until durin released now mono pyro mav is the strongest single element team you can make

Mavuika + Bennet + Durin + PMC just beats any other mono team. (Pmc to build Mavuikas ult).

Looking at the comments seems like Pyro takes the lead by a large margin. Going further into the question then, if I were to play a mono Pyro account and wanted to clear the abyss what would be 2 good comps?

I was thinking something like:

Team 1 — Mavuika + Durin + Pyro MC + Xiangling

Team 2 — Arlecchino + Bennett + C2 Klee + C4 Yanfei/Thoma (using the Retracing Bolide set to give a good shield + normal attack DMG)

What you guys think? Maybe Arlecchino can be swapped with other pyro dps but I think she's the better one even in mono Pyro (maybe Lyney?). Nicole is coming soon as well she may be a good support for either of these teams.

And pls don't take that too seriously, I'm just imagining things for fun here.

Swap Durin with the shielders maybe? That would give team 1 a sustain and Klee+Durin together get you their hex bonuses.

I'm so offended that nobody has mentioned Anemo. It will let you swirl whatever enemies are in spiral abyss, and Xaio keeps getting buffed every other patch with new supports or new artifacts.
