Am I playing the game wrong??
Hii, so I started the playing the game in late October 2025. And rn, I'm ar45 with 2 two level 80 teams. I have spent all this time doing exploration and 100%ed mondstadt and liyue, and now doing Inazuma. I have finished upto chasm archon quest. I see everyone talking about the new archon quests and locations, so I'm wondering if I should speedrun and finish them? But I don't want to have any spoilers either, because the best way to feels exploring each region and doing all the world quests too. Hoping I can find some guidance here ^_^

The only thing you're missing by not beelining it to Nod Krai is the extra rewards you get for completing the content within the patch timeframe; which only really amounts to a small handful of rolls.
Just keep going at your own pace.
The new archon quests and locations are permanent content and will still be there no matter how long you take.
The only tricky part might be pulling on banners for regions you have not yet unlocked. Also think about if you want to do that or not.
You should feel proud. Stop caring how others play, how they think you should play.
Genshin is still releasing new content. You’re ALWAYS going to be “behind” until you are 100% caught up today. Tomorrow (figurative) when next patch hits? You’re behind again.
Unless the reason you play is to chase the “behind” feeling? Then get off Reddit, and just keep playing how you are. Most of the people I know? Enjoy playing at their own pace. Every day may be different. They may not touch story for a week.
I haven’t touched story since new years. I’m in the desert. And could care less what Reddit or others say about newest lore. I’m having fun, at my pace, using teams I enjoy. It’s a more enjoyable experience this way.
i would ve played the game like you if i was to start today, playing the game in order how the regions was released is way better to understand game story and events ,
also do not rush it because once you are done with the content you will enter in the true endgame, which consist in a 10-15 minute daily gameplay.
I ended up not doing Archon quests for a few months and just went exploring through the regions completing world quests and collecting chests and oculi.
Having some milestones might help you, but they can also be a problem if you make them too hard. For example, see if you can finish Sumeru Archon Quest by the end of February and Fontaine by the end of March or April if you want to feel safe. The meantime you use to explore and do world quests. You're not as far behind as it might look like, it's just that the content is very sparse so it looks like you are. In Natlan though you should play world quests before the last act of Archon Quest, so give this region a bit more time.
It's infinitely more satisfying to clear out regions one by one in order at your own pace. If you rush ahead, you undoubtedly miss world quests and exploration in parts of areas like Inazuma, Sumeru etc and possibly never go back to them, or get back to them once enough time has gone that you already forgot what happened in the area.
You won't miss out on "meta" units as by the time you get to the latest area the new units releasing will be the meta. The end game and limited time rewards you grab by getting to end game ASAP will be offset by the ones you miss in earlier game exploration. The only thing that will be different is that you'll rush to the end of the book/movie and spoil the middle parts for yourself.
Take your time. Enjoy where you're at, because you're at the best part of the game right now! The rest of us end gamers just wait for patch releases, play through it in a week or two and then twiddle our thumbs with day in day out grind.
Enjoy the journey. The destination is a moving goalpost.
