Help with Genshin lag/stutter?
So I've recently come back to playing Genshin (since Durin release) on my current laptop and the past month I have noticed intermittent lag/stutter problems. Sometimes, it's not that bad and goes away on its own after a bit, and other times it makes playing the game in any form nearly impossible. I have tried-
\- restarting my laptop,
\- turning off my laptop completely, leaving it be for an hour or so, then turning it back on,
\- checking for hoyoplay updates,
\- running diagnostics tests in hoyoplay (all come back normal),
\- repairing client,
\- clearing cache,
\- turning ALL graphics to the lowest quality/fps as well as turning off all effects (sometimes this makes it worse???),
\- making sure genshin is the ONLY program running on my laptop at the time,
\- checking my gpu (NVIDIA) for updates/issues,
\- checking my laptop itself for updates/issues,
\- making sure my laptop is plugged in,
\- checking my network connection (my ping is green mostly. i had network issues before, but solved them and this issue still persisted),
\- going into windows security virus threat protection and putting hoyoplay in the exclusion list,
\- uninstalling, then reinstalling (this previously fixed my star rail when i was having the same issues about 2 months ago, but the issue has since come back.)
For extra information, I have an ASUS TUF F16 Gaming laptop, an intel core i7 processor, and NVIDIA Geforce GPU. I bought it approximately 5 months or so ago so it's not old at all. I will not lie, I am not very computer smart so any information past that is beyond me. I will mention I am playing on an America server account while being in Europe (moved here for uni), but my friend here that also plays on America servers does not have the same issues that I do, and I only started seeing these issues pop up around early November, right before Cyrene released in HSR. Genshin/HSR are also the only games that have had this problem for me, so I doubt it's my laptop. This probably has no correlation, but funny enough the issue will sometimes go away when I stream it on discord vc (how??? i don't know but it works i guess?) if anyone has any sort of solution please let me know :') I want to be able to go through the Nod-Krai quests without pulling my hair out from the insane lag.

Asus might have it's own built in monitoring software.
The relevant graphs are Framerate/FPS, GPU usage %, CPU usage %, GPU temps, CPU temps, and the perfcap reason/limit charts - it's 1 chart in GPU-Z but 4 separate charts in Afterburner.
Also, when you're posting your system specs, the specific model numbers matter.
"i7 processor" and "Geforce GPU" can both refer to a wide range of processors with wildly different performance.

If you get lag the first time you go somewhere after a driver or game update, get severe lag for a second or two, then it goes away, that's likely shader compilation stutter, and it's completely normal.
If you get stuttering just in general, even for places you've been to before, then there's additional troubleshooting that's needed.
GPU Clock- 1600-1900 MHz
GPU Power- 25 watts
GPU Temperature- 55-60 celsius
GPU Utilization- 23%
CPU Utilization- 13%
i'm really not good at understanding any computer troubleshooting stuff so i feel like i'm struggling a bit trying to comprehend anything so sorry if this really isn't helpful at all ;;;; i'm not sure the best way to log and post it but these are the stats it tends to sit around, and the only ones that spike are CPU/GPU utilization, and the numbers i gave are the highest they've gone to.

These make it easier to tell if the stutters are originating from the CPU or GPU, and offer possible explanations why it might be doing that.
You can take a screenshot with a button labelled prtscr on your keyboard, or, you can press win+shift+s. If you're on Win11, it should automatically save the image in pictures/screenshots, or some directory like that.
With the stats you've given, GPU utilization and power both look unusually low. Your laptop will have 2 GPUs - the CPU will have an integrated GPU attached, and the second GPU will be the discrete 5060. Make sure you're reading the graphs for the correct GPU.
If those numbers are indeed the stats for the 5060, and not the iGPU, and since you have an Asus laptop, it might have Asus GPU Tweak 3 pre-installed.
Open that and check that the power target slider is at 100%, and not something lower.
sometime can happen that PCs does not recognize you are playing and keep using igpu ,especially if lag is severe, which given your spec should not happen
i think you can set it in nvidia panel control>manage 3d app
or
go to Start > Settings > System > Display > Graphics settings > and try to add genshin.exe here and set it to performance or something like this (cant check now since i am not on pc)
also you can give a try in changing battery performance by going to power & battery section and set it in best performance.
if game worked fine before, i guess some setting changed due to an update or such .
Have fun with Nod Krai !
