Powercreep doesn't make older characters useless, anything post natlan is still top tier, and can clear as long as you can deal with the mechanic of this boss (which seems more restrictive compared to previous bosses).

And feathers are very rare, so even 1 feather per patch adds up to the guaranteed 3/3/4 roll mechanic counter.

But I was replying to previous commenter, who implied that rerun banners are worthless, when characters like mavuika/citlali/skirk/furina/arlecchino etc are still very strong in their best teams and can clear stygian, and natlan dps characters are very close to nod krai dps in damage. I think mavuika can easily beat this boss, and probably varesa can also do it with good artifacts.

The OP asked for advice on how to clear this boss, the answer "lol no, just get the primos, you don't need the feather" isn't very useful.

My pre-nod krai pull was skirk anad shenhe, so no primos when i entered nod krai

Then inatead of neffer, i aimed for furina for skirk premium

Then i got durin and his sig for arlecchino overload

And lost my 50/50 on trying to get Venti. Leaving me primoless, and somegow never get to experience lunar-reactions, unless i go for bina but then i wont have anything for varka

That’s very unlikely.

You can pretty much trigger any lunar reaction with Columbina in the team. This makes her very universal and can be used in pretty much any team as a lunar reaction enabler (with the right elements). The only drawback with her is that her utility shines the most only when doing lunar reactions; her utility falls off when not triggering them.

As a sub-dps/support, she is very unlikely to be benched so fast. Just look at examples like Furina and Bennett, they are still used in almost every team (Skirk freeze, Mauv melt, etc.). Only main dps units tend to get powercrept more often in a couple of patches (e.g. Hu Tao > Arlecchino > Mauvika)

You need someone who can do 12mil while slotting in a grouper.

I'll be honest, very few teams can actually meet the dps check for this boss. Some of them that do struggle to slot a grouper.

If I had to make a guess, your best bet is to do varessa + kazuha. You're gonna need to figure out the last 2 slots, but durin + iansan doesn't sound bad. (I'm not sure if this meets the dps requirements of the boss tho).

I saw your dps list: Alhai, navia, neuvi, skirk, varessa, chasca.

Alhai we can almost instantly ignore. He needs lauma to be relevant atm. I don't think navia would work either. Getting a grouper would gimp her dmg too hard.

Chasca if c2 is probably really good. Completely useless without it.

Neuv is actually good, but you might struggle against the fire crab without him. But I also wonder how you'll deal with 12mil hp on neuv.

That leaves varessa and skirk. To my knowledge skirk might struggle here, and she can't slot a grouper so you're just left with varessa.

the main thing is that shield dynamics like this are more about elemental application than elemental damage. I'm not 100 sure if this one is the exception. So if you have a character that can deal huge elemental but applies elemental damage slowly, you should rule those chars out. You will also want as many off field elemental applicators as possible.

with that said fearless for me has always been an hp barrier more than an opponent dynamic barrier. The only team that might not work against this is a hypercarry style where you boosting a single char with reactions and buffs rather than applying reactions

This might be the first time that Genshin hasnt provided a free character that cannot trigger the basic regional mechanic. Sumeru gave Collei and Traveler for dendro, Fontaine gave Lynette and Traveler for Ousia and Pneuma, Natlan gave Kachina and Traveler for Nightsoul... I just assumed Aino gave lunar trigger for Nod Krai. Weird.

Let me tell that - fearless is hard! Very hard! Sure, it's not "dire", but dire wasn't meant for general public anyway, it meant for a "whales" audience, with c0 clears "while possible, requiring a godly skill and min-maxing".

Not everyone can do even "menacing", let alone fearless. If you would have a specifically invested character, like c2r1 to bruteforce it, you wouldn't need to ask here about such possibilities.

Long story short, just be happy with a "menacing" clear. And even menacing isn't really "required", since no primos - if it's difficult as well, then just clear "hard" and be done with it. And i can't really imagine an account that can't clear "hard", but even if such a thing exist - multiplayer is available for up to "menacing" difficulty.

Yeah, I'll be honest, I'm in the same situation as you (just have Columbina for now, will fish for a DPS later), and the only way I could do it, was with my top 1% C3R1 Arlecchino lol. And even then, because Xilonen and Citlali went to Neuvillette (cause if I did Kazuha-Citlali for Arle, Neuvi's last slot after Xilonen becomes dubious at best), with Kazuha and Zhongli, I didn't have as much leeway as I was expecting.

I’d say my arle is pretty invested, c1r1 and top 1% on akasha. I did swap skirk and arle, so skirk can fight the shock trooper, arle is close to beating the last dog, just need to refine my rotation
