Stygian Hard Difficulty only giving 2 mins (usual 10 mins)
As you can see the boss is Lvl 90 meaning Hard difficulty, usually I get 10 minutes to defeat each individual boss. Why did it turn to 2 mins? Am I just dumb or did I miss anything?
This is the 3rd boss and I checked the other two bosses, both gave me 10 mins.

Regardless, if it's taking you the full 2 minutes and beyond, then you need to build your characters better.
Hard Mode in Stygian is a glorified World Boss/Domain run. Each stage should take you like, 30 seconds tops.
Given that their Kinich is lvl 70, did it never cross your mind that they're a player whose account is on a progression stage where hard difficulty is equivalent to menacing or fearless?
Not all people are Deep-Endgame 1 year+ investment players
Anywho, for those using Stygian as a method of progression, rather than an Endgame check, co-op exists.
Is it really so incomprehensible that OP might just be a newer player whose account and player skill progression aren't at the point where they're past the stage of trivialising floor 12 equivalent content. Let alone the lower barrier that is hard
Kinich last rerun wasn't even that long ago.
The mode is tailored for LVL90 characters, it really isn't worth the 10 minutes of wall-beating they're putting themselves through otherwise.
And not everyone wants to use co-op and people are perfectly valid for wanting to use the game purely single player
>The mode is tailored for LVL90 characters
If it was, then Easy/Normal/Hard wouldn't be difficulties that exist.
Stygian is at least generous enough to offer that co-op lifeline for the full Primo rewards. Abyss and Imaginarium are much more stringent on that front. I daresay they're an outlier if they were actually clearing it before, solo. I doubt Hoyo's done any balancing for the mode with players of their type in mind.
**Stygian as a whole is not endgame content. Menacing/fearless/dire are the endgame content portion of of Stygian.**
Lmao no.
Lvl 90 content unlocks at AR 45, which is world lvl 6
Max World levels players are expected to fight lvl 100-110 enemies in endgame content.
A 10 to 20 lvl difference between player characters and enemies isn't even that unusual. Most non-transformative chars are fine at lvl 80 for fighting lvl 105 enemies
I main Arlecchino and Flins tho
The fact still remains that an A12 level team just sneezes and clears Stygian on "Hard".
What you said is objectively true. People with characters built for A12 won't have an issue with hard. But OP seems to be a lower AR player (level 70 Kinich). Their characters clearly aren't A12 equipped and they likely need more time to clear hard. Your comment is in no way relevant to OP.
Still don't get the hubbub, this is very obviously a bug and will be addressed in due time.
You are exactly stating what my problem is with your remark... The OP of the post has a lv70 Kinich, which is in no way Abyss Floor 12 ready. So why do you think they should clear SO in 2 minutes?
In an alt-account of mine, with only a limited amount of characters, I am screwed this patch. No Lunar reactions, because picked it back up when Durin came out, got him, and am out of pulls right now. So no Lunar characters, means two of the three levels I can't even clear on Hard level (most of my characters are LV 80), while the Emperor just doesn't work because my freeze teams su I in his account. So no way of easy Artifact farming for me either.
Any other groundbreaking insights you'd like to share?!
I can't pull for each and every 5* that comes out. I have to choose. I do not want my accounts to feel the same, so some have Flins & Ineffa, others have other combinations.
Thing is, they made this SO so, that you need a lot of 5* Hydros (and we all know most of them are either 5* or useless) to clear this content. Where do I get the pulls to pull them all?
I haven't done the current reset but last time, HARD keeled over if decently built characters do as much as sneeze. My Mavuika / Neuvilette / Nilou teams didn't even manage a full rotation.
Content like Stygian is not designed for accounts like yours. You are simply underleveled, so naturally, w/o access to shill teams you will struggle b/c you lack the builds to brute-force.
Keep in mind that this IS a Gacha game. Content like Stygian is supposed to make players feel inadequate and pull for the new shiny.
And FYI: I was right. They changed the hard difficulty back to 10 minutes time per enemy, instead of only a 5th of that.
People love to forget that there is a stream of new players joining the game. Meaning there's always a stream of players whose account hasn't yet progressed to Abyss Floor 12 readiness yet.
Though obviously that timer is just a bug but even if it wasn't, I don't see the issue. If Hyv suddenly decided that 2 minutes is what players get, then that's their prerogative.
Easy/Normal/Hard difficulty are not endgame.
Menacing/Fearless/Dire are endgame
Just as A11 is also endgame.
* Difficulty Normal, enemy level 40
* Difficulty advancing, enemy level 70
Stygian is a Quasi combat event open to all stages of game progression, with endgame level difficulty within the challenge itself.
You really wanna tell be a lvl 40 difficult is "endgame"
That would be:
* Abyss 9-12
* Theater
* Stygian
Whether difficulty settings exist to make certain parts of it more accessible or not, does not mean they aren't considered endgame. Gacha rewards are budgeted around these 3 lockouts.
There is a very simple reason why Stygian beyond "Hard" does not reward Gacha currency: Hoyoverse deems it inappropriately restrictive/difficult for the general playerbase.
So yeah: Stygian "Hard" is part of the endgame. Whether your arbitrarily set personal definition agrees with it or not.
"Endgame content isnt meant to be cleared by new players"
And
"A lvl 40/70 difficulty option" are inherently contradictory.
If Stygian wasn't ment to be attempted by new/mid lvl players, then normal and advancing difficulty would not exist.
(The same applies to easy and normal mode in the theatre)
The fact that they do, permanently disproves any kind of argument you bring up here
>And
>"A lvl 40/70 difficulty option" are inherently contradictory.
Incorrect.
The developer sets the barrier of entry. It's as simple as that. Difficulty settings, allowing PARTIAL clears, are designed to ease people into it, instead of placing them in front of a brick wall.
If you can't deal with it you are too new / inexperienced.
Assuming the 2 minute timer isn't a bug (I'm 99.99% sure that it is), then the player in question simply did not meet the criteria the DEVs set to clear the mode.
**This ain't rocket surgery, mate. This is basic game design logic.**
Yea no.
This kinda logic sets the barrier for "clearing the mode" at "beating dire". Because that's the last difficulty option available.
That's basically arguing that you can only actually clear the mode for real If you're a sweat or a whale. Disqualifying even people who can go up to fearless from "being able to clear the mode"
This sort of thing is becoming too common. It happened in Safe Engagement Training too, and we didn't get 360 extra primogems as an apology.
Everything the developers of this game do is evil, and deserves an apology. Maybe we can get everyone to boycott.
