Tbh c1 xiao is a better option here, and tbh c1 childe is barely an upgrade, and c1 xiao is actually good, unironically it is one of his best cons (mostly bcz his cons are horrible ahahaha) but yeah

Depends... do you actually use Childe? If not - it doesn't matter how good or bad his constellation is, it would just be a waste of resources. Prioritize getting cons for characters you actually use, preferably more than just in IT (unless those characters have absolutely dogshit cons that wouldn't matter at all). If you don't really use any of them much - then I would just get the cons for the characters I like more. Or you could go for Keqing C6 for the chance to get Masterless Fortuna in the future... though I personally wouldn't recommend that, lvl 95/100 isn't that big of a deal, and it would not be a consistent way to get one anyway.

Actually I just want all the characters to be consistent at the max....i always all lvl 90...talent 9/9/9.
now that im thinking about it...... what do you think about Childe getting a buff in the future? basically this is an investment/bet.

To be honest, that is not a bad idea. Since we already had buffs for certain older characters - we would expect to get more. The thing is - if they're trying to make the buffs "lore accurate" as they (mostly) did with the Mondstadt characters - I think it would be hard to fit Childe with the rest of the cast. I would much rather bet on them doing something like "Adeptus buffs" for characters like Xiao, Ganyu, Zhongli, Xianyun, Shenhe, Yanfei, YaoYao and maybe some of their acquaintances, for example.
But hey, you never know what Hoyo might cook up in the future.
PS: Now that I think about it again - they could add Childe to that group since he is (or at least was) quite close with Zhongli. But I still think he doesn't quite fit.

xiao is another good choice...but the weapon options for xiao is so bad... like even after playing for 5 years ...still no jade spear...meanwhile childe weapon options....i have like 2-3 5 star options....even more good 4 star weapon options. praying everytime i pull on standard lol

yeah. i personally never use xiao and the other constellations here are either bad investments or not impactful. a little qol for a really good overworld character compared to everything else you have seems reasonable. if you use xiao, though, maybe you'll like c1?
