Primos=resin
Im a 1.0 on and off player, with a lot of half built characters like a lvl 60 c6 sucrose, c6 xingqiu and more..
I buy welkin and pass but it seems like i am comiting a war crime if i spend 50-150 primos daily on resin to build said characters?
I own both raiden and miko that are 90% built, but after hexerei buffs I finally built my c6 fischl that’s been sitting in my acc on lvl 60 since 1.0 and I don’t
Regret investing into an older character at all..
Usually if I didn’t buy pass it would take about a month worth of resin to fully build a character
Lvl 90,weapon,talents and artifacts (no sharing).
I have been spending primos on resin for the last 2 months and I probably made the most progress on my acc since starting the game. Am i not getting a better return if i invest primos in characters i already own rather then always saving for new ones?

There's a reason why restarting from scratch is bad whenever someone asks if they should create a new one or keep their current. The gacha's energy system (resin) is a pain in the ass that won't let you build everybody in an instant. The answer to an old player with 40+ characters with 1/3 of it levelled up to 90 is always "keep" for that reason.
you have to accept that not all your characters are going to be built
and if you're going to build a character you will have to manage your expectations. You can't min max every relic. Again, you can play this like a normal single player game. The RNG works against you.
You say your an on and off player which I assume then your letting your resin cap out for extended periods of time, all of which is lost material which you then used primos to catch up on.
Unlike hsr or zzz there isn’t an additional tank for resin here, hitting 200 and letting it sit there is about the worst thing you can do for material efficiency
250 primogems = 180 resin, which is only 1 day’s worth of resin. In two months this is 15000 primos, which is equivalent to one 5-star character. If you’ve been refreshing any more than this, you’re losing far more than your Welkin can give you back.
If you’re honestly that against getting new characters, you may as well use those primos to vertically invest in pulling constellations for your 5-stars. That way you achieve the same thing (you use less resin to build characters) while also actually making good use of your primos.
If you aren’t playing and using resin consistently, then ofc you can’t get the materials you need fast enough. This is just part of a live service game.
For example, if taking 4 characters to level 80, make the last ascension and take relevant talents to level 8 will take 1 month, by spending primos it will take 3 weeks.
You are gaining a week but you are spending a resource that is WAY more limited than resin and that is also the only one you need to get new characters.
Honestly, you're doing it wrong imho.
Also, ascend the characters and level up talents it's ALWAYS more valuable than anything else in this game because aside from that (and weapon level) every other aspect of a build is RNG.
Just stop spending primogems on resin, make yourself comfortable for a month, try to understand which characters are still worth to raise up and farm for them with the daily resin.
For most of them getting to level 90 is a very small increase but that last 10 levels are very expensive in terms of experience books and mora, keep this in mind
Most people don't play like that though, so we can't help thinking you're wasting important resources into something that you'll reach just by playing a few more days in the week. Gacha is a game for you to have a slow but steady progress.
Personally, having more characters is more fun, swapping them around, finding a team that feels good to play for your individual preferences, etc.
Wouldn't recommend it tho.
