Nefer's story in the Archon quest made me buy 300 dollars in primogems because I haven't felt a character story wrap it's fingers around my heart and squeeze like that since Masquerade of the Guilty and Arle's story quest ending.
It's not even Nefer's circumstances, but the conviction and resolve she developed along with her internal disbelief because she doesn't want to be the person she became. She was clearly a damaged and hurt person even while she was getting revenge.
She feels to be always walking a tightrope and it makes her banter with Lauma so good since I get the sense that Lauma is the only person she feels emotionally safe with.
Nefer is a terrifying but simultaneously deeply vulnerable person and her vulnerability based in distrust, trauma and disbelief is just relatable as hell for most people.

I think Nefer's struggle with being a good and heroic/altruistic person at heart mixed with her getting the coldest reality check ever in her youth, leading her to conduct herself via cold calculations and not trusting anyone is Furina and Arle levels of character internal struggle/disbelief.
It makes her relationship with Lauma so good with how she terrifies most people but folds instantly under barely any pressure from Lauma. I think she really respects Lauma for being the person she (Nefer) wanted to be while remaining "clean".
Nod Krai has given us a cast full of incredibly deep divable characters and it's just so good. I feel so immersed in this story because I feel this cast can easily step through the screen into real life and no one would bat an eye. Writing these super humans who remain grounded is so hard and I'm so impressed they pulled it off so well.

UGH NO did they really put the males and females in the same combined list? 💀 this is BAD STATISTICS!
The poll was conducted with male and female characters polled separately. First players were asked to pick their top 10 males. Then, in the a separate poll on the same post, players were asked to pick their top 10 females.
**Since there are 30ish males and 60ish females, that means the votes for females are split more ways. It is NOT a fair comparison.**
To put another way, imagine you asked 100 players to name their favorite traveler, and 50 said Aether and 50 said Lumine. Then you asked the same 100 players to name their favorite archon, and Furina is in the lead with 30 votes. Would you then combine the lists and say that Aether is more popular than Furina?
And even if the gender ratio were 50/50, it would still not be a valid list. For example maybe Zhongli is my favorite male but my 30th favorite overall character.
**The only way to combine the results is to have combined the POLL.**

Ngl I like skirk but idk how people can vote her to 3 when all she has is essentially a small cameo in a archon quest and a character story quest and that’s it??? Like she’s had such little story time and only really had hype cause of childe and being super good looking and badass…. Ok I can kinda understand now but come on 😭

Votes are separated by gender and males have less options.
Not the best indicator maybe, but it’s 60k members with 10k posts for Nefer, and 132k members with 25k posts for Flins which is around that 2.5x ballpark
It's not even Nefer's circumstances, but the conviction and resolve she developed along with her internal disbelief because she doesn't want to be the person she became. She was clearly a damaged and hurt person even while she was getting revenge.
She feels to be always walking a tightrope and it makes her banter with Lauma so good since I get the sense that Lauma is the only person she feels emotionally safe with.
Nefer is a terrifying but simultaneously deeply vulnerable person and her vulnerability based in distrust, trauma and disbelief is just relatable as hell for most people.
I definelty do think she was alot more detailed than everyone else.
Neuvillette's number dropped by a lot, damn. Thanks to that, Zhongli reclaimed the throne for male character.
Furina and Arlecchino stayed at the same spots.
Flins is no surprise but Durin being 2nd is kinda surprising (he's adorable while simultaneously being badass though so i get it)
It makes her relationship with Lauma so good with how she terrifies most people but folds instantly under barely any pressure from Lauma. I think she really respects Lauma for being the person she (Nefer) wanted to be while remaining "clean".
Nod Krai has given us a cast full of incredibly deep divable characters and it's just so good. I feel so immersed in this story because I feel this cast can easily step through the screen into real life and no one would bat an eye. Writing these super humans who remain grounded is so hard and I'm so impressed they pulled it off so well.

The only downside is that she needs Lauma to be great.
She is an interesting, complex character with plenty of screentime, makes perfect sense honestly

To me it's one of the most annoying characters even if I add his appearence in Nord-Krai story
maybe anti hero isn't even a correct word here. but he is certainly a unique character.
nefer is a pleasant surprise tho, her character got quite a good amount of screentime in the aq. people do love their badass women plus her dynamic with jahoda/lauma

Her ONE issue is that damage% is over saturated,
Because she's the one saturating it. She provides all the damage percent you need.
There's almost twice as many female characters than males, so those 10 votes are more spread out.

The runner ups for the female pole were Lauma, Citlali, and Jahoda.
Of course the male characters do have a fanbase but you cannot make assumptions about their popularity compared to the females based on this image.
I thought maybe Flins or Durin would be first due to recency bias
Althought this might just mean that because there are so many female characters, the votes are split among a lot of them.
Recency bias is a hell of a drug.

Male characters are also my favorites. I'm an Alhaitham main. But Alhaitham wouldn't sit for bad statistics and bad survey methods. He'd design a correct study with correct methodology.
