Mondstadt lore is way darker than the region feels
Mondstadt looks bright and carefree on the surface, but the more you dig into its lore, the darker it actually gets.
Between Decarabian’s rule, the rebellion, Venti’s origins, the Lawrence clan, and Durin’s corruption, a lot of Mondstadt’s history is built on oppression, sacrifice, and loss. It’s kind of wild how that contrast exists with how peaceful and cozy the region feels today.

Kinda like how pokemon games did it
From war crimes to schnitzel and beer festivals
I can also confirm as a German-Speaker that it‘s actual, comprehensible German spoken by people fluent in it
