Yeah it needs a ton of hydro application. Maybe only Childe can meet that type of requirement alone. You prob still need Furina or a second hydro
nlopnlipa2026-01-21 18:26
>Maybe only Childe can meet that type of requirement alone
Do you really believe that or is it bait?
Impossible_Lock11722026-01-21 18:40
Lemme fill the people’s hearts with the seed of the foul… Plus I saw a crazy Skirk clear where he was the bulk of the hydro application 😂
shre32932026-01-21 18:28
its not about hydro app per se, its mainly about high hydro dmg, the dmg you do to small crabs is transferred to the main boss. that's why Mualani can clear it.

You should clear that boss
Use Mona on-field and use her normals + alternate sprint to apply hydro to small crabs, go to town with Skirk once big boss' horns are down

Not really, you can even put her on a budget TOTM piece. You just want her to bring down the crabs fast.

20% ATK bonus. Same deal as Noblesse.
shre32932026-01-21 18:52
sorry, I honestly don't know, maybe some strategies will come out in a few days.
Darcula042026-01-21 22:02
So if you have no sources of high hydro damage it's just cooked? Makes sense why my friend and I couldn't clear it in coop with a skirk team.
PrayingSlays2026-01-21 22:02
mualani can? I was skeptical about using her since she doesnt apply that much hydro. might try it tomorrow
shre32932026-01-21 22:05
she can but its kinda tough, as there is shit ton of rng.
Outside_Patient_24062026-01-21 23:02
She has high damage and the small crabs mean free vapes for Mualani (and Furina).
babangelsin2026-01-21 18:38
You don't need ton of hydro **application**, you need ton of hydro **damage** and preferably in AoE
pzlama3332026-01-21 18:50
There are Neuvillette solo.
Fall0fReach-jOnYx-NA2026-01-21 18:24
It’s hard but i did it with childe, furina, yelan, and bennett.
ThatEmoSprite2026-01-21 20:48
I have all of them at good investment and I really wanna clear fearless for the first time ever. Do you mind explaining how you did it 👉👈 their builds and perhaps a brief rundown of your rotation?
watercat222026-01-21 20:55
Also interested in your rotation. Why Bennet? He only buffs Childe who is not the main damage dealer right?
Xc4lib3r2026-01-21 21:23
For Furina overhealing buff. Bennett iirc has pretty high healing amount per tick so you can stack Furina buff faster.
Jaystrike72026-01-22 11:50
Were they all C0? What was the rotation.
I wanna try this
peerawitppr2026-01-21 18:43
I first tried completed the other two, but stuck at the crab for 30 minutes.
Finally cleared with Furina, Yelan, Xingqiu, and Escoffier, and that was very tedious.

peerawitppr2026-01-21 18:56
Yelan C1 not sure how impactful extra E is.
Xingqiu on Jade cutter, likely improves his dps decently over R0.
Edit: forgot I changed Escoffier's weapon to Fav, nvm.
NotTwitchy2026-01-21 20:07
I think Yelan c1 might be insane in SO. More energy, smooths out those early rotations since you start with 0
lnfine2026-01-22 04:10
I did it with c0r0 Skirk (her on finale, rest on favs). Mona as the 4th slot.
Took an hour of malding though to get a good rotation. Burst into skill on crab down is pretty much mandatory. Twice.

Esco on GT, Furina on TotM, Mona I forgor. Most likely on noblesse.
I also forgor TTDS exists. But using it in this fight is a mess anyway.
There is a video f a Skirk clear with this team on YT, I got some pointers from there.
Good-Commission11872026-01-21 18:53
i dunno this game is so annoying in this regard
90 lvl boss is like 15 sec fight and 105 lvl boss is just rape my ass
Princess_Moe2026-01-21 19:38
lvl 90 is Hard diff; lvl 105 is Fearless
and yess, the stat gap between lvl 90 and lvl 105 is bigger than the gap between lvl 1 and lvl 85
not to mention the mechanical differences between both difficulties (like shields needing more gauge units to break, doing certain moves earlier, etc)
cym1042026-01-21 23:42
That's just generic rpg logic at work. Before long they'll have you fighting lv 120 spectre herds with billions of hp.
Frost_Niflheim2026-01-21 18:57
I did a dual DPS with C4 Childe, Furina, Skirk and Escoffier. Childe would deal with most of the pyro shield and crabs thanks to riptides (C4 they deal DoT) and just when the shield was about to break, Furina Q, Escoffier E Q, and Skirk Q or E>NA, then Childe NA on the boss Bow Q on the newly spawned Crabs to apply Riptide marks, and repeat.
KingLollipopJR2026-01-21 19:11
wants u pull a certain hydro character in a few weeks ;)
KrzyDankus2026-01-21 19:13
might be the worst boss in stygian since 5.7 and its simply cus i dont have fraudvillette
WhooooCares2026-01-21 19:15
Stop it. There are tons of videos of low investment clears with Neuvillette. Don't do this.
Pale_Sell11222026-01-21 20:40
I said without Neuv. Of course you will clear with the shill character with enough investment
GeekNoy2026-01-21 19:19
Indeed. I made it with Furina, Kokomi, Esco, and Ayaka. I think it's Kokomi who pulled me through with her AOE hydro after being unsuccessful with Yelan/XQ.
sikuaqisnotslovenian2026-01-21 21:20
PLEASE tell me how you did it, i have c2 ayaka and i'm still only able to knock down around 70%
StanTheWoz2026-01-21 19:33
I am legitimately struggling to clear it on Fearless with c0r1 Skirk...this is a mess. I don't know what the fuck they expected you to do if you don't have Neuvillette. I don't remember any of the previous bosses being that horrible without one specific character, there were always at least a couple options.
NotTwitchy2026-01-21 20:06
>I don’t know what the fuck they expected you to do if you don’t have Neuvillette.
They expect you to pull for him. Not defending it, just saying that’s 100% what they want. Why buff old characters when you can just adjust a boss to require them?
StanTheWoz2026-01-21 20:29
Sure, but almost all of the previous shill bosses at least have multiple options or at the bare minimum don't require a specific on-fielder. Like you can run a lunar charged or lunar bloom team for any of the lunar stuff, none of them specifically require Flins or Nefer. You could use Skirk or some jank Mavuika teams for the electro turtle, overload or burning for the lava dragon, any solid pyro dps worked for the tulpa and it was technically also doable with hyperbloom, other electrocharge teams work for the shock trooper as well as a few that aren't EC, etc.
Maybe I'm just missing something, I should probably check back in a couple days to see what guide-makers are recommending, but this is miserable. I have a decently invested account otherwise and I'm struggling to find anything I can use for this.
K6fan2026-01-22 00:16
I managed to push through with my C0R1 Skirk but it was kinda tough (118/120). I used Furina, XQ and Esco. The only actual tip I have (although I presume you've tried this already) is roided rotation with Burst into NA combo
StanTheWoz2026-01-22 01:27
Yeah I'm at probably 10+ attempts with that exact team, and I tried that on some of them. Having a real hard time consistently getting the crab down at the right point in the rotation on top of everything else, but even when I do get lucky and get it I'm still a bit of dps short.
StevenGuyPierce2026-01-22 03:47
Have you got Mualani instead of XQ? She helped me get through. Less hydro application but more crab absorption damage pushes me over the edge. Basically use furina and Mualani to target the smaller crab shields whilst switching to skirk and Esco on occasion to use skills and charge their bursts so you can unload just before the big crab’s shield breaks.
StanTheWoz2026-01-22 18:48
I was able to eventually get it with Xingqiu after maybe 20 attempts, with maybe 2 seconds to spare. I think there's a lot of RNG with the small crabs...getting lucky with their grouping and death timing. I definitely could not replicate it.
No, I don't have Mualani. I don't really have a hydro DPS at all. The small crabs pass on hydro damage to the big crab much more than all the other elements, which I think is the main problem I was having (60% for hydro vs. 10% for the rest). Wish that were a bit more fair.
Kukimeku2026-01-21 19:52
I can't even clear with neuv c0r0 Furina C2 I really must be doing something wrong
BlaCoiso2026-01-22 01:09
I cleared with Neuvi C0R0 and Furina C2; team was Neuvillette (C0, Prototype Amber R1, 4pc mare), Furina (C2, Pipe R5, 4pc GT), Kachina (C6, craftable DEF% polearm at R1, 4pc scroll), Charlotte (C2, some ER catalyst from an event, 4pc blizzard lmao)
_LFKrebs_2026-01-22 00:25
I've been trying with Childe, Yelan, Xingqiu and either Kazuha / Citlali and the fucking crab always lives with like 5% hp, I feel like it's doable, but everything has to go perfectly, annoying af boss, don't have Neuv / Furina / Skirk / Escoff, can't think of anyone else I have left after 1st and 2nd bosses that would be better for that honestly lol
Snackbar882026-01-22 01:00
I managed to take down on fearless, but good riddance, it was terrible: Citlali (c2), childe (c6), escoffier c0 and not well built Columbina c0 (lvl 6 talents) in golden troupe set. The group needs optimal er for constant ultimate rotation to kill the small crabs. Childe helps a lot espedially when the second wave crabs jumping on you, you can kill them together with one charged attack.
JoeHaydn2026-01-22 01:02
I eventually managed to get a good run with Yelan, Furina, Citlali and Escoffier. Was a bit tight though, I had like 5 seconds left. But they all manage to do a good amount of damage to the crabs, break the shields reasonably fast and buff the shit out of each other. Not to mention Citlali's shield, which made this one hell of a lot more bearable...
Ultimately, no matter which team you go for, try to build up a bit of energy in the first seconds, then as soon as the adds spawn, run to the one near you and wait for the others. They jump in pretty quickly and by doing that you don't waste any CDs on a single crab when you could hit all three at once. Generally focus on the adds rather than the boss, it can get a bit convoluted later in the fight. But take them out one by one if you must, because they're practically the only way to reliably break the Emperor's shield and deal some damage.
hieudinh10112026-01-22 02:13
the hard one's the dog, the rest can kinda easy.
1st Team: Nefer - Lauma - Bina - Nilou, i need Nilou for faster shield break, clear in 119s
2nd Team: Varessa Overload, very easy
3rd Team: Skirk - Furina - Esco - Cilali, Skirk have C1 and Jade cutter, clear in 80s
All my char is C0R0
Ill_Syllabub_20352026-01-22 02:58
I cant even clear it on menace. I really need help
StevenGuyPierce2026-01-22 03:44
If it helps I did it twice without Neuvilette. Both had C0R1 Skirk, C0 Escoffier, C2 Furina, and the last slot I did with C0 Mualani and again with C1 Ayato. Let me know if you want me rotations.
MuscleDue1702026-01-22 03:56
skirk - coffee - yelan - xingqui worked for me
Pale_Sell11222026-01-22 18:19
I don't have Yelan, Can Furina or c6 Mona work?
Is your skirk and Escoffier c0r0?
MuscleDue1702026-01-23 02:51
furina is better, unfortunately my skirk is c2r1 but with furina and clean rotation, i think u can do it. Just try a lot and stop when ur too stressed, its just a reroll feather
ryuzeeey2026-01-22 06:29
I hate this Neuv shilling
rekage992026-01-22 07:23
I tried so many comps for the crab because i was trying to use furina in my skirk team for shock trooper. I came close with a couple and possibly could’ve if i wanted to keep retrying, but it becomes tedious.
So i was basically forced to run neuvillette and furina for crab, i couldn’t clear it without them together. The other two spots are a little more flexible and i can clear it with multiple setups. But the fastest clear was with citlali and kokomi. Kokomi turned out to be very useful since her and furina allowed me to almost passively kill off the little crabs.
Aside from them, some contenders were ayato and ganyu simply for their massive aoe helping kill the little ones.
The hardest part of this stygian was the combination of bosses. You need hydro on every one of them and two of them want lunar reactions. If the shock trooper or crab were lets say, the lava dragon, this cycle would’ve been *way* easier.
Hoyo knows what they are doing. They want you to feel bad and have a poor experience if you don’t have particular characters. I’m fairly certain they dislike the playerbase at this point. They craft bosses and boss lineups to shill and push specific teams and want you to suffer if you didn’t so you feel compelled to pull for more characters.
KeiraFenyx2026-01-22 08:00
I did it with C0 Neuvi, C0 Furina, C0 Escoffier, and C0R1 Citlali. Pretty premium but it still took me a few tries to get a hang of the mechanics
Wastable2026-01-22 09:28
I ran a Skirk/Kokomi team. Onfield kokomi and when the crab’d shield is down, I switch to Skirk
AsideImpossible66222026-01-24 18:12
omgg please share how you did it
AsideImpossible66222026-01-24 18:58
heey nevermind but thankss you really opened my eyes to use kokomi even though it took me many tries TT
Wastable2026-01-25 13:38
Hey! Glad you managed to do it! Didnt see your comment until now.
It also took me many tries before I did it and even then it was super close
Spiral14072026-01-22 10:31
Because guess who's on the banner next
DownerMouse2026-01-22 10:41
I managed after a few tries with, Mualani, Furina, Venti (for grouping) and Xilonen. Just keep targeting the small crabs until big boy is down. The short damage window is quite good because you want the small crabs back often for Mualani.
DaSpood2026-01-24 14:01
Managed it with Neuvi, Escoffier, Citlali and Kokomi. My Furina was busy on the fatui boss so I had to default to freeze hoping Neuvi would do enough.
With Neuvi it's tough but doable, you mainly have to try to get as many crabs as you can in your charge attack's radius. I didn't read the mechanic but I'm pretty sure it works a little bit like the dendro crab in Nod Krai where defeating the mini things deals extra damage to the boss. This is really a Neuvi shill boss because of that, the game doesn't have many characters with big AoE hydro application, if you have no Neuvi and no Furina it's going to be a rough one to beat.
