middle scroll wheel should still work, but by holding alt, you can freely move the cursor around and press it manually

KuboPlays202026-01-21 23:25

The middle scroll wheel doesn't work, and if i look into the settings and controls, there isn't a single control for Elemental Vision. Was the function just forgotten by the devs? I remember in the early game u have to use it quite often but now... I lit forgot what it was and what it was for.

Frozenmagicaster2026-01-21 23:27

you are holding it down right, as m3, not scroll up / scroll down?

KuboPlays202026-01-22 07:14

Yes, holding it down. I love how im getting downvoted for saying that it doesnt work for me LOL. Reddit moment

Because it's part of default game controls that you are literally unable to change. If it doesn't work for you - it might be that your mouse itself broke.

As an alternative, you can hold alt to activate a mouse cursor, and click on that thing directly. Just don't move while you're using it, moving disables elemental vision.

Tried 3 different mice, not a single one of them activates elemental sight with middle scroll wheel click. And the thing is, even if you cant change em, they should be in the controls menu so you know what to press if you want to activate it.

Medyanka2026-01-22 09:01

The thing is - it IS in the controls. You just can't change it, but it is there. Scroll down in key bindings, it's a 5th from the bottom.

Are you sure that there is no script that blocks or reassign middle button? Like ahk, or something?

KuboPlays202026-01-22 09:02

Nope, checked already. And it isn't in the controls. Like it ISNT. Im verifying game files atm. I hope that fixes it.

Is it different for you?

KuboPlays202026-01-22 09:07

Yes. I didn't have that setting there. I thought I was just blind so i read through all of them about 10 times. File verification is almost complete. I rlly hope that fixes it

DarkAlatreon2026-01-21 23:28

It's a you issue, it works perfectly for most players.

Linoren2026-01-21 23:30

Hold middle mouse button not just click but hold

Petter17892026-01-22 02:12

It should be listed in the controls, but you cannot rebind it

SnooChipmunks1252026-01-23 15:15

I use it alot in exploring, chests light up in elemental vision.

Fleur_Hiiroluvr2026-01-21 23:25

pressing scroll wheel is the default button for it so unless you changed it, it should still work. You should be able to see in your keybind settings if it doesn't work.

Spy_co2026-01-22 01:13

You can't change it afaik. Only key that can't be changed.

Petter17892026-01-22 02:20

Which is really annoying because I don't have a middle mouse button. Why is it almost always the features bound to potentially troublesome buttons that end up not being rebindable?!

Ryuunoru2026-01-22 12:55

"potentially troublesome buttons"

Bruh, 99.99% of mice have this button.

Petter17892026-01-22 12:58

And 99,99% of modern laptops have a single "button" that counts as either the left or right mouse button based on vibes.

Ryuunoru2026-01-22 13:44

Yikes.

Buy a proper mouse dude.

Petter17892026-01-22 13:51

Yikes indeed. To both the moronic trend within laptop design AND the stupid decision to leave random features without the ability to rebind.

Ryuunoru2026-01-22 14:01

Get a mouse.

Edit: Sure, block me, saves a spot on my side for someone else. Anyway, the conclusion remains the same: Get a proper mouse. This one is entirely on you. If *you* don't have proper hardware to run the game (which you should have known before installing it), it's on *you* to solve that issue.

Petter17892026-01-22 14:07

Sure. Let's not complain about objectively bad decisions just because a workaround exists.

_ironhearted_2026-01-21 23:43

It's the middle scroll button. Hold it down (and don't scroll obv). You could check if your mouse is busted since the same thing happened to me and it was because the scroll wheel button stopped responding.

astasli2026-01-21 23:56

Did you remap your scroll wheel press button to be something other than Mouse3?

KuboPlays202026-01-22 07:14

No.

ArtiBlanco2026-01-22 00:06

hold alt to bring up your mouse and you can click on it

Spy_co2026-01-22 01:14

Press and hold the middle mouse button.

TommDX2026-01-22 04:38

now that I realize, elemental sight really has fallen off in utility

powerXtrme2026-01-22 14:14

It used to work on my gaming mouse, now it doesn't
