Out of all teams, my lunar one can't handle the lunar shield. [SO Menacing]
Lunar DMG not enough. My max is 1/4 remaining dog shield.

Lol i also could not clear the battlefield 1. I don't have Lauma/Nefer, so it's even harder for me, and i used Bina/Flins for battlefield 2 due to lack of good electro characters.
False-Pickle-86932026-01-22 10:08
Try overload on the 2nd! one electro like fischl is enough on that. did it with arle fischl benny durin
fat_mothra2026-01-22 10:49
If you have Ineffa, you can try Ineffa/Aino on second and Bina/Flins of first
stormwalker1242026-01-22 22:16
I was able to clear the 2nd guy on fearless with Ineffa + Fischl + Xingqiu + Sucrose quickswap, but I do have those 4\*s C6... it might help you out though!
ryansgoose2026-01-24 17:10
omg I was stuck on not being able to beat the first boss without flins but I thought I needed Flins for the second boss, now I tried your team for the second boss and made it and so could use Flins for the first boss and beat him too THANK YOU!!
Livid_Boysenberry_582026-01-22 08:45
The problem is you don't have an on fielder.
Columbina and Lauma are great sub dpses, but they don't do damage often enough to get through the shield in time
uspdd2026-01-22 09:02
Isn't Columbina a good on-fielder with her CAs?
The real problem is that Ineffa doesn't work with Lauma+Nahida. Columbina's skill as the only hydro app won't be able to remove such strong dendro aura and you won't trigger lunar charge.
Livid_Boysenberry_582026-01-22 09:04
In my opinion, they don't do nearly enough.
You're correct about the dendro, though. Replacing Nahida with a second hydro will help.
nlopnlipa2026-01-22 10:16
DPS Columbina is Skirk level at C0R0 and better than Flins/Nefer at R1, that‘s definitely not nothing.
Huge-Expression80562026-01-22 10:40
Edit : Bruh she's not an on-field dps guys, she's her self-driver for lunar reactions, which fill-up her gravity ring, and while on-field with a certain build and team, yeah she buffs herself. But that's it, her CA spam is only to max her buffs as fast as possible, they don't do that much by their own when compared to the whole team damage. Her damage STILL comes from lunar reactions, her skill and burst, not by "being on-field". Needed to explain cause some people her think her damage comes from her CA, while not true, she's a dps anyway (being off-field or on-field).
She's not...BUT she can be kinda ok as a quickswap dps depending which C she has.
My main team for now is :
Columbina C3R1 on unveiling
Nahida C2R2 on gilded (yeah she should be on deepwood but I'm lazy to change her nearly perfect gilded build)
Yelan C0R1 on emblem
Ineffa C0R0 on silken
My Columbina's stats when maxed-up with buffs are :
45k HP / 90%CR / 300%CD / 600 EM (thx Nahida and Ineffa) and no need of ER that much when on-field
2 hydro (resonance) and at least 1 dendro is needed for Columbina CA on-field in any lunar team, I also use 1 electro in this team because of Nahida's C2 but you might not want to bring one, it depends. (If your team is full dendro/hydro, Nilou is your best 4th slot)
Nahida is not that good before C2 in this team, Lauma is way better. But if you have neither of them, good luck for your Columbina on-field team, no dendro chars provide as much buffs and damage than Lauma and Nahida C2, even if you could try with Yaoyao maybe.
Ineffa can be replaced with Shinobu, and only her as you don't want to quicken often, so Fischl is too much, and Ororon off-field would not trigger because of dendro.
Yelan can be replaced with XQ if Ineffa's shield is not enough and Columbina's not with P. Amber. But keep in mind you'll need to replace her with Aino if you don't have Ineffa nor Lauma.
You just, Columbina EQ, Ineffa EQ, Nahida EQ, Yelan EQ, then [1NA1CAd] spam with Columbina until her skill is ready, and you can even switch for Nahida at any time to E if needed
But at C0R0 I would absolutly NOT advise anyone to on-field Columbina, except if they really want to of course. Even if mine obliterate any local legend before then can move.
Admiral_Axe2026-01-22 08:45
Don't mix lunar types.
You have part lunar charged and part lunar bloom.
Your lauma and nahida will only buff lunar bloom, but your ineffa will deal more lunar reactions than lauma and nahida, yhat will switch the damage type of Columbina to lunar charged and thay will make your lauma useless since now she won't buff anything.
Either switch ineffa for hydro or dendro, or switch lauma and nahida for electro and hydro.
Easiest should be fischl and sucrose, both are quite strong with their hex buffs in thay team.
nlopnlipa2026-01-22 10:14
No? You do more Lunar-Bloom dmg than Lunar-Charged since Columbina does Lunar-Bloom damage. Her best DPS team includes Ineffa, this is just wtong advice.
PandiTati2026-01-22 10:20
This advice is half right, the team does need adjustments. There's so much dendro from Lauma and Nahida combined, you simply spend all Columbina's hydro on bloom and no LC is triggered, you trigger only spread with Ineffa. The only wrong point is to focus on either since you actually can play both Bloom and LC with Columbina on-field.
But Columbina DPS team includes Aino (or Yelan, or any other Hydro) for a reason. You want dendro and Electro to be triggered over hydro to maintain both reactions simultaneously than having not enough hydro on both
nlopnlipa2026-01-22 10:21
Yes ik, my point was mainly that „Don‘t mix lunar reactions“ is horrible advice.
PandiTati2026-01-22 10:26
With this I totally agree
thwrlsgenshin2026-01-22 10:21
Better advice is use both teams on test dummy DPS on miliastra and see which one really does more dmg.
PandiTati2026-01-22 10:26
Columbina DPS team *does* include both Lunar-bloom and Lunar-charged, but the best team is double hydro + Lauma and Ineffa so they trigger their respective reactions over hydro application.
In this exact team Nahida simply applies too much dendro to allow any LC to trigger and switching her Aino or another Hydro would be a better choice.
You are wrong about focusing on one reaction but you're not wrong about the team needing adjustments
SkullCrackerJr2026-01-22 14:48
This wrong advice is why you should look up what a character's kit does and not just take team building advice at face value. Ideally yes, you would want a team that fully utilizes either lunar bloom or lunar charged, but on field DPS Columbina herself has a kit that does both (well, deals lunar bloom and enables lunar charged) so the buffs/debuffs you are looking for are actually to both.
Admiral_Axe2026-01-22 15:21
The only way that team deals more damage than going pure Lunar Charged is if you have c6 aino, and if you have c6 aino you most likely just have flins already and would just use a flins team
SkullCrackerJr2026-01-22 16:23
Your previous comment shows you haven't even tested or seen tests of the team in OP's image. Ineffa alone is not enough to override Columbina's skill procs so they still are all lunar bloom, I know because I tested this team both with Nahida and with Aino. Also all calcs of on-field Columbina include Lauma, even the more Lunar-Charged heavy one so I don't know where you got this idea of going fully on either reaction.
GuideBusy31022026-01-22 08:55
Crazy how the other 2 are easy but the dog is too hard it's not even close for my clear 😭
ShinyGrezz2026-01-22 15:03
Dog, I can do with a better rotation (Nefer, Lauma, Nahida, Furina). Or if I can figure out how to beat Shock Trooper without Columbina.
Shock Trooper, literally falls over (C2R1 Columbina, Ineffa, anyone else)
I have no idea how you’re meant to beat Emperor without Neuvillette. Even looking at this I simply don’t understand how OP beat it. Using Yelan and Xingqiu it takes me a minute to even get the shield down, then I get ten seconds to damage it.
YellowGetRekt2026-01-22 15:16
Clorinde is pretty good against it iirc
GuideBusy31022026-01-22 15:31
Yeahh I had neuvillete Furina xilonen team...
But for the dog I have only flins . No ineffa no Columbina ( trying to get her).
za3koun2026-01-22 15:41
Clorinde overload clears the trooper
Bronzemarkian2026-01-22 17:14
How do you break the shield with clorinde overload though? Just have enough damage to outmuscle it even on fearless?
Velocity1112026-01-22 16:08
Notably OP is doing Menacing and not Fearless/Dire, the Menacing crab is a lot easier to take down
ShinyGrezz2026-01-22 16:11
Oh yeah I can do Menacing pretty easily, it’s Fearless that’s kicking my ass.
eklatea2026-01-22 17:18
Menacing crab is kicking my ass :(
DigiAirship2026-01-22 19:00
Does menacing still have those small crabs? Focus on them as much as possible, only go for the boss when it's stunned.
eklatea2026-01-22 19:03
No, menacing doesn't have the little crabs, you have remove the shield from the boss itself
DigiAirship2026-01-22 19:48
Does this ironically make the fight harder on Menacing? At least Neuvillette is not nearly as good when he can't take advantage of his aoe to hit all the crabs at once.
Velterian2026-01-22 18:07
For the crab the trick is to mostly ignore the big crab and focus entirely on killing the small ones. They all transfer a portion of their dmg taken to the boss when they die, and since they're permanently affected by pyro, you can vape and melt everything on them.
I initially barely beat it with Furina Neuvi Escoffier Skirk, then switched to Citlali Escoffier Furina Mualani and beat it with 30s to spare (citlali C2R1, all other C0R0).
Honest_Milk_82742026-01-22 18:25
You don't attack the Crab Emperor, you attack the adds. Everytime you destroy their shield, they will damage the Emperor.
Neuvellette is better just because he can attack everything at the same time (remember when people were saying AoE was bad in SO? 😅)
Anyways, this is completely doable by any team that has enough hydro applications.
As for the Trooper, you only need electrocharge, not Lunarcharged. You can also brute force with Skirk. I used Arlechinno+Bennett+Ineffa+Yelan for this.
DigiAirship2026-01-22 18:59
Can't you just swap Columbina and Furina if the shock trooper is so easy? Ineffa alone should be enough, I did it with Skirk.
Cocoatrice2026-01-22 16:55
Dog is easy, if you are fighting it right. Although it's confusing, because you are *not* supposed to kill birds.
Little_Pool_18292026-01-22 09:00
Ineffa ain't doing much in that team especially with 2 Dendro characters. Nahida especially has a very strong Dendro app that is hard to override. You ain't getting any Lunar-Charged with that. ~~You either have to stick to Lunar-Bloom or stick to Lunar-Charged.~~
I cleared fearless with Columbina, Ineffa, Sucrose, and Fischl so you can definitely do Menacing.
Edit: Apparently, as what others said, you just need to replace Nahida with another Hydro.
PandiTati2026-01-22 10:37
Please look at [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Columbina_Mains/s/LP6fdnObu8) and [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Columbina_Mains/s/IhoGWAnpZt). Mixing Lunar-charged and Lunar-bloom is the best Columbina on-field team sitting on around 130-135k DPS. The only difference between disaster team and best team is running double hydro so Lauma and Ineffa triggered their reactions over it, and didn't compete for limited hydro application from Columbina. If OP switches Nahida to Aino they are good
Little_Pool_18292026-01-22 10:39
Thanks for the correction.
Gargooner2026-01-22 13:04
The damage isn't the issue here tho?
It's more so that you lose consistent Lunar Damage in favor of more DPS, Lunar Bloom (Not Lunar Bloom Damage) with Columbina would be slower than just keep proccing Lunar Charged.
Medyanka2026-01-22 15:44
The damage is exactly the problem here. Lunar damage here IS dps.
The problem here is that ineffa needs lunar-charged cloud on the field in order to deal majority of her damage, but with nahida on the team - no amount of hydro from a single character would be able to overpower dendro aura on enemy, and you can't trigger lunar-charged with dendro on the enemy.
That's why you need a second hydro instead, so hydto+electro will be on enemy, and dendro will be a trigger - not the other way around. Otherwise, ineffa here deals as much damage as kuki.
alvenestthol2026-01-22 15:27
I ran C5 Noblesse Mona over my piddly C1 Instructors Aino, and it was a remarkable DPS increase for me that allowed the team to finally break the shield
None of Mona's constellation buffs (except C4) are actually hexerei-gated, even though she can't extend Omen beyond the base 5s (not that the DMG% from Omen affects Lunar teams anyway), she still adds an additional 24% Dmg bonus to Ineffa's Lunar charged for 8+5s, 80 EM to the whole team for 12s, as well as 15% Crit rate for 5s (during the Omen) plus 20% Atk for 12s from Noblesse.
Meanwhile, C1 Aino just has 15s of 80 EM and 8s of 120 EM, plus slightly more consistent Hydro application.
PandiTati2026-01-22 15:34
Happy you found the optimal set-up for you, but you're supposed to put Deepwood of SMS on Aino in Columbina DPS team, why would she wear instructor
survivorr123_2026-01-22 12:10
> you can definitely do Menacing.
on menacing you don't get energy and i feel like you also have a bit less time to break the shield, it's deadass harder with certain teams than fearless
Little_Pool_18292026-01-22 12:57
What do you mean you don't get energy in Menacing? Is there a separate mechanic in Menacing that is not in Fearless? And "feel" a bit less time is such a subjective take. How much more time do you have in Fearless to break the boss's shield compared to Menacing?
To be clear, I meant this as a genuine question since I haven't looked at Menacing at all. I do really wonder if they have different mechanics.
survivorr123_2026-01-22 13:13
in fearless you get 36 clear energy after triggering 1 lunar reaction which is enough to fill all your bursts most of the time, in menacing you dont get any energy,
in menacing shield explodes at 1:33, in fearless it explodes at 1:23,
so in fearless you get energy + have more time, in menacing even if you manage to get energy the shield phase is over before your burst animations end
Little_Pool_18292026-01-22 13:26
I see. Thanks for the heads up. I always assumed the mechanics in Fearless and Menacing were the same.
SkullCrackerJr2026-01-22 14:41
Not only do you not get energy in fearless but the time window to break it is shorter. Way too short imo because you get 10 seconds in menacing with NO energy but 20 in fearless, so you actually have 50% of the time to do 56% of the HP you would in fearless but with no energy.
Square_Definition_352026-01-22 14:47
Who would be the on fielder in that team? I build all of them as support so nobody has levelled NA lol
Little_Pool_18292026-01-22 15:00
Much like in traditional Taser teams, I just on-field Sucrose most of the time to drive Fischl's C6 and A4 passive while easily maintaining VV uptime.
DarkAlatreon2026-01-22 09:10
I'm having trouble even with a Nefer, C1 Lauma, C2 Nilou, Nahida team, clearing several seconds from the limit.
IamAlwaysOk2026-01-22 09:13
That team should be able clear to Menacing Wild Hunt Lord, are you talking about Fearless?
DarkAlatreon2026-01-22 09:18
Ah yes, sorry, fearless
axhng2026-01-22 09:15
like another poster mentioned, mixing lunar type doesn't help. I tried this team (low cost C0 only) too and couldn't break the shield in time. but switching to sucrose and aino did it for me.
BlackTemplarKNB2026-01-22 09:17
team should be either lunar charge or lunar bloom, they conflict and cannibalize each other reactions.
Far-Law4112026-01-22 09:56
you can def run 2 lunar reactions, esp binas best team being lauma/ineffa/aino, its just that here nahidas dendro makes it impossible for lunar charge to proc hence ineffa is doing no dmg
-average-reddit-user2026-01-22 09:18
Your first team has too much Dendro which is likely preventing Ineffa from creating Thunderclouds and actually dealing Lunar-Charged DMG to deal with the boss
MonkeyRexo2026-01-22 09:23
I cleared this with Columbina, Lauma, Nahida, Shinobu.
Columbina has to be on field charged attack spamming to get lunar blooms off. Dash cancelling the charged attacks was also important since Columbina gets interrupted too easily.
I focused only on the boss, ignoring the mobs since they were too spread out and you really need to break the shield fast.
1aUhrensohn2026-01-22 15:15
Everyone C0R0? I'm struggling with this boss and only have Lauma and Columbina.
Environmental-Belt492026-01-22 09:24
others clear it with arlecchino or mavuika with a crowd control preferably kazuha. focus on the chickens when they are around. they deplete the shield when they get killed before the charge up is complete.
Akito992026-01-22 10:15
Yep, the trick is to group the chickens close to the dog so your non-lunar reaction main dps can hit both groups at the same time for faster shield break. Each of those damn bird has 2.3M hp(!) even at fearless so your main dps better be well-built or has constellations.
For lunar reaction teams you just ignore the chickens and go to town on the dog and avoid taking too much damage from the laser beams.
TargetOk40322026-01-22 09:33
U r better of swapping Nahida and Lauma with Sucrose and Fischel. I don't think u r doing much lunar charge because hydro is consumed by Luma and Nahida's dendro. So you are creating a hyper loom team with ineffa triggering the dendro core. Since you have more than one Nod Krai characters, you lost Lauma's buff on bloom dmg.
fairy-wale2026-01-22 09:58
Remove lauma and the radish.
And make a lunar charged focused team.
Put a electro or hydro main dps, add sucrose.
And you should be able to easily clear this boss at this level.
Y-tap2026-01-22 09:59
Okay wtf, what did you feed your ayaka with to kill this mf in 80 sec
jrsdelatorre2026-01-22 11:29
3 Favonius teammates, and spam Ayaka's burst and CA.
Destroys the shield ASAP with cryo application.
_brickwizard_2026-01-22 10:02
Focus on lunar charged don't use lauma and Nahida
KGB_cutony2026-01-22 10:04
Oh you're not supposed to be hitting the birds, hit the dog itself with lunar reactions. The birds are there for non lunar teams
UnknownMyoux2026-01-22 11:26
Oh my...I am a fool
TooShyMightCry2026-01-22 11:27
Everyone throwing out team comp advice, when THIS is the actual issue, the same issue I had (DPSbina, Ineffa, Lauma, Aino)
Hit the boss, not the minions. Also despite what I said, maybe switch Nahida to Aino if you have her.
Upbeat_Sham2026-01-22 12:05
Yosh, i only have ineffa bina with craftable weapons.
What should their artifact sets be?
They'll be doing most of the dmg ehile chasca, nuvi Arle etc will just be drivers.
Aubade on both? But some say better to just put silken on Bina as the total dmg of ineffa will still be higher.
TooShyMightCry2026-01-22 12:15
Bina on SMS, Ineffa on the new lunar set.
Upbeat_Sham2026-01-22 12:25
But if both are on Aubade(new set) wouldn't it be better, both get the 60 percent dmg bonus and boost Bina sub dos as well.
Silken is good for ER and EM buff 20 percent dmg bonus only.
Anyone tested in Millistra?
IchHeisse_EehTsay2026-01-22 19:52
THANK YOU! i feel so vindicated. co-op players have such a hard time grasping this when we're lunar comping. i get straight up ignored when i say we need to target the boss. pride is a helluva drug😭
mamamiamarcelIo2026-01-22 23:26
I have Furina, C0 aino, yelan and nahida, who to choose as the 4th member?
Ryuunoru2026-01-22 12:26
> The birds are there for non lunar teams
The birds were there to bear witness to the horrors I would unleash upon those who dare to defy me.
Lunar reactions? Hah, more like brute force murder
OrwellianNight2026-01-23 00:36
This is so... fedora coded.
cartercr2026-01-22 13:25
But… but… Lunar shill! How dare you imply that there be other ways of dealing with it!
I’m glad there are people like you actually taking the time to understand the boss mechanics rather than just bitching about Lunar teams.
ProfessionalTalk4822026-01-22 14:42
That boss is still a fuckin bitch tho
Kingofmanga2026-01-22 15:01
It is a luna shill i have completed fearless with mavuika kazuha bennet citlali. It required with a well built team perfect rotations and comboing. I watched a friend just spam colombina ineffa and won first try
Wolfsilver012026-01-22 14:00
Yeah i made the error too, i felt dumb when i remember that..
avrafrost2026-01-22 14:16
100% correct. Even with a team of Nefer, Lauma, bina, and zhongli it was a struggle to break the shield and only possible hitting only the boss. Premium Flins team could do it the other way easily but he’s needed elsewhere.
smilingcube2026-01-22 15:24
Oooooooohhhhhhhh.........
Thanks a lot.
dranke19172026-01-22 17:16
Bruh
Firethorn342026-01-22 17:35
I cant kill a single one of the birds on menacing with my best team
Local-Criticism43532026-01-22 18:10
WHAT ?? I was supposed to hit the dog ??? I have to try again !
Fullpotentialk2026-01-22 19:49
If you have a strong as hell hypercarry!
Biarfm2026-01-22 21:23
Well that explains a lot. With my weak ass teams I couldn’t even kill 3 birbs on hard before it got to do its own burst.
SecyaDenali2026-01-22 10:32
Take out Nahida for Sucrose and run Lauma on ER sands and 2pc 2pc EM. Nahida has way too much dendro and isnt better than Sucrose at all in fact worse in a longer scenario.
vermillion-orange2026-01-22 10:34
For teams that output lunar reactions, hit the mother dog directly
Non-lunar ones, hit the chicks
scrayla2026-01-22 10:38
Menacing is doable for me with flins aino ineffa and sucrose. Fearless though. Fearless is a whole nother beast. Still cant kill it always left with 5% HP. Hopefully i manage to get columbina before her banner ends 😭 surely ineffa bina with 2 other strong dps can do it
proxy19c2026-01-22 10:50
Swap Ayaka and Columbina teams and you should be fine, if your Ayaka managed to clear that guy, she probably is capable enough for the doggo, although personally I used Skirk team for the dog. Also try Kazuha/Sucrose instead of Nahida, VV set obviously
jrsdelatorre2026-01-22 11:26
Update: Cleared the dog with Columbina-Ineffa-Fischl-Durin.
1. I think hyperbloom was ruining the application;
2. Yes, I know. Targeting the dog for Lunar teams, and the summons for non-Lunar teams. Did not work for me, my lunar damage is not enough. There's always around 1/4 remaining shield.
wandering-warbler2026-01-22 18:29
thanks for the update. How'd you come up with Durin as the slot? I guess Hex teammate - does the pyro get in the way at all?
HorribleDat2026-01-22 21:07
Nahida was probably applying too much dendro that you weren't getting consistent thundercloud which ruined Ineffa's lunar output.
jrsdelatorre2026-01-23 04:50
Yes. Thanks to the comments, I found and resolved the issue.
MagnusBaechus2026-01-22 11:32
swap nahida and lauma for fichl and sucrose dawg
RadRelCaroman2026-01-22 11:47
With 2 dendro ineffa can't get any work done she can't lunar charge
Salt-Sheepherd2026-01-22 11:58
swap Nahida for a Hydro character; mine was Nilou and i cleared Fearless, u got this 🫡
Last-Marsupial92412026-01-22 12:03
I had to brute force. My c2r1 columbina + c2 nah ida, c1r1 Nefer and c0 Lauma struggled.
It’s crazy! This was tough man. Specially cuz this boss and minions run a lot, get away from your attacks and the gravity ring.
I literally brute forced it and still was tough.
Chuunine2026-01-22 12:46
Funny how we can have so many ways to show how much shield an enemy have but not with our characters. All we have is visual whether it is there or not lol
Azelais2026-01-22 16:52
Fr, this fucking kills me. They’ve been doing better at having UI elements that portray how much/many of something we have (e.g. the little thing by the health bar showing how many seeds Nefer has absorbed), but god what I wouldn’t do for a shield meter or other trackers like how many mirrors Alhaitham has.
JDBCool2026-01-22 17:35
Seeing bond of life mechanic.....
Wtf do you mean that isn't the shield bar?!
EliSan-2026-01-22 12:49
From my experience this Boss is best delt with lunar crystallise. I tried different options and simply adding a geo char helped a ton. I did this stage with instructor Shilonen/Bina/ineffa/Sucrose but I’m positive literally any geo char will do. Obviously Zibai will be the best
MihirPagar102026-01-22 13:59
I do hope you are hitting the boss rather than the dogs
shikoov2026-01-22 14:09
Reading is always the most menacing thing in Stygian
PEAceDeath14252026-01-22 14:36
Why are your teams for 2nd and 3rd fight swapped?
Fishiste2026-01-22 14:52
Didn’t manage to success with the same team but changed Ineffa for Shinobu and it went so much well (and it made Ineffa available for the boss 2)

You need to make sure you’re not wasting any of Lauma’s quills on normal Blooms.
Try: Bina E > Lauma N1s until a LBloom proc > Ineffa E > Nahida hE > Lauma hEQ > Bina Q > Bina 6CA > Ineffa Q > Nahida EQ > Lauma hEQ > Bina E6CA
That should get through the shield.
Btw you do kinda want another Hydro instead of Nahida in teams with Lauma + Ineffa as just Binas app isn’t enough, so could put Furina in and put Aino in your Ayaka team. Just replace Nahida’s Es here with Furina’s (also don’t burst on Furina)
5255andrew2026-01-22 15:10
This team I couldn’t even beat with my Luna squad lol (Sucrose, Fischl, Yelan, Bina). I had to use a mavuika team (Mavuika, Xilonen, Bennet, and Kazuha to group the birds together). And I barely won with that team on menacing 🤣 I didn’t even try to do fearless after that.
makoblade2026-01-22 16:53
Wouldn't Citlali be better than Xilonen here? You're basically mono-pyroing with Mavuika which seems like it'd be way worse than having the cryo.
5255andrew2026-01-22 17:33
I’m not good at Mav combos and can’t maintain the cryo status so half the time I’m not procing melt anyways. My main issue was being unable to kill the birds. So for consistent damage, I sent Citlali to my Neuv team and kept Xilonen.
voidlockdragon12026-01-22 15:13
If you are running Lunar Reaction Pure Damage team aka premium Nefer/Flins team against the first boss, you don't go for the chickens, you go for the boss itself.
Lunar reaction damage against the boss with the shield takes greatly increased lunar reaction damage, so you can chew through that shield in around 15-20 seconds if your team is good. For non-Lunar reaction teams, you would need to group up the chickens with Anemo character than go DPS mode on the chickens to take out the boss's shield.
You would want either a Nefer/Flins with their premium supports since they deal raw Lunar Reaction Damage as their DPS. A Columbina/Lauma/Ineffa team don't deal the Lunar Reaction Damage as quickly as Nefer/Flins team, so the boss's shield won't break fast enough.
For the original poster, I recommend taking out Nahida for Sucrose and killing the chickens instead. You would probably be able to take out the chickens faster than the boss's shield with your current team setup. The chickens if properly grouped with Sucrose's Burst can be killed pretty quickly, much faster than the boss's shield since you lack pure Lunar Reaction damage.
QualityShort2026-01-22 15:19
I’m sure there are many comments saying the same thing, but put all focus on the main boss. You’ll see big changes
AlaindeshoGT2026-01-22 15:34
I was so confident with my lunar characters going into this stygian, just to be rejected and humilliated by this damn dog. Best i was able to do he still has 25% of his health, so not even close.
I don't have Lauma, so most likely just putting her there would do it, but for now i just gave up
HARThorne2026-01-22 15:44
I did fearless with Ineffa, Varessa, Columbina, and Sucrose so that I'd have Flins/Aino for the trooper, was pretty tight but it worked
E-Lazy2026-01-22 15:53
No lunar characters (except Bina)
No elecro characters (except Shogun on deepeood)
It was truly the first time I didn’t do an endgame content
JulianoRamirez2026-01-23 04:06
I just got a 23s clear on hard, gimme my primos and I'm out this month. No way I'm pulling just for shill mechanics.
Watsons-Butler2026-01-22 16:22
Is it possible that with both Lauma and Ineffa in there you might be creating aggravate reactions instead of the lunar reactions you need? I’d try swapping ineffa for another hydro.
JunWasHere2026-01-22 16:53
That's not the issue at all.
* Lunar Charged doesn't prevent Lunar Blooms.
* Dendro doesn't prevent Lunar Charged from happening.
* Quicken reactions actually just contribute a bit of damage.
Columbina+Lauma+Ineffa's kits are extremely synergistic.
The issue is that big stupid chicken's shield is just a big fat sponge even for Lunar teams. If they lack one of the hypercarries (Flins/Ineffa), even they will struggle.
MarkAntonyRs2026-01-22 16:58
Try bringing a dps.
KPmine12026-01-22 16:59
I ended up switching my dps on that first boss to chasca, than added bin, furina, and raiden for luna and it only took 90s on the hard or whatever difficulty
CEO_Cheese2026-01-22 16:59
I’m at 80ish seconds for Trooper and Emperor, and barely cleared Fearless on the Dog. Target the main body, and get as many individual Lunar reactions as possible. The team I took it on was Clorinde Columbina Ineffa Jahoda
Top-Attention74502026-01-22 16:59
I can do 1st and 3rd but not 2nd of menacing. I have never completed a menacing as a whole before😔
Just doesn't have good dps. And that stupid shield.
dwspartan2026-01-22 17:30
Pick lunar electrocute or lunar bloom, don't go both, they interfere with each other's reactions. Lunar bloom needs Nefer for single target DPS. Lunar electrocute is good for this, Bina Ineffa Fischl Sucrose is a very good and budget friendly build.
OloivoFRUIT2026-01-22 18:00
What difficulty is this? I want to try to clear the crab with my Clorinde
CRZIFY2026-01-22 18:05
I had the same problem… then i stopped using the lunar one and instead put durin mav and kazuha…. Coeared it in 80seconds. The trick is to kill the birds. Kazuha hold E groups them up and mavuika can easily finish them off. When they’re dead its easy as pie
BonusroosterJr2026-01-22 19:01
Its not easy as pie brotha, its the tankiest boss theyve released in SO. If we’re talking fearless i assume youre mav is c2, no?
Pikagreg2026-01-22 19:13
How was Clorinde with the crab? I am having huge trouble with the crab personally. I could get close with Skirk but it is giving me a huge headache.
Frost_Niflheim2026-01-22 19:14
Too much dendro. Switch Nahida out for a Hydro or anemo
Real_Emergency2026-01-22 19:32
The shield takes more lunar damage. This is essentially hyperbloom team with columbina lunar bloom damage here and there. Remove 1 dendro and add hydro or remove dendro all together and add a buffer for lunar charge to clear the shield faster.
reikrit2026-01-22 19:40
I used Kinich team on that. Just facetank the nuke with Bennett then beat the hell out of it in between. 😅
dried-membrane2026-01-22 20:41
for some reason i found fearless easier than menacing because in fearless the dog gives energy when u hit shield with lunar dmg and the crab spawns the mini crabs
jimusah2026-01-22 21:11
are you hitting the right targets? i did the dog on fearless using c2r0 bina / c0r0 lauma / c0r0 raiden / c0r0 aino with pretty mid builds and it wasn't super close. i just full focused the boss and positioned in ways where i was hitting everything
DeerParticular51542026-01-22 22:19
I tried a similar team like yours , but it was way less damage than lunar crystallize. I used em crit Zhong li, columbina, ineffa, and for the finals slot sucrose, and at work very well. Maybe other off field geo might replace zhongli
jetkser2026-01-22 22:51
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDg5t3MsA2E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDg5t3MsA2E) I did it with Mavuika, Sucrose, Iansan, and Citlali. I’m very satisfied.
TropicalSkiFly2026-01-23 00:57
Due to the fact I had to put my Ineffa and Columbina to fight the first boss, it really nerfed my Flins team. Found out that what helped me barely beat it was this team:
- Sucrose, Aino, Flins, and Ororon
My Ororon is level 70 and not even built. I had to quickly maintain lunar-charged constantly while also doing damage with Flins.
Maintained it with Aino and Ororon’s bursts.
——————
3rd boss, I brute forced with my Skirk team. 1st boss was a bit unorthodoxed. I used:
- Xilonen, Columbina, Varesa, and Ineffa
This allowed me to efficiently trigger lunar-charged and lunar-crystallize, while also getting my burst back faster with electro resonance. Xilonen also helped with res shredding hydro and electro while healing.
Suspicious_Smol_24882026-01-23 01:44
You're having the same problem as me. Only the difference is that I use Flins, Ineffa, Columbina, and Sucrose. I can't clear all the devil chickens then I realized I suddenly damaged the Boss shield even all chickens are alive. That's when I realized that if you are running a Lunar DPS hit the Boss directly. It's easier that way. The chickens are for other DPS that can crowd control and burst them.
theksjlife2026-01-23 02:05
trying to group the mini dogs is self-sabotage
embrace the big dog fight for lunar shill
Fast-Ad-24152026-01-24 23:11
Well, you use wrong Lunar DMG.. Lauma and Nahida together with Ineffa is just not optimal, you will want to go Lunar CHARGE only agaisnt the dog, so use Columbina, Ineffa, Flins and Yelan if possible and switch out Yelan at the crab for Neuvilette, when you can. or replace Nahida if possible with Nefer, then youd defientely have enough DPS
You have too much Lunar Reaction overload with Lunar Charge and Lunar Bloom together rivaling for your minimal Hydro Application, that is coming only form Columbina. You will want to have constant Hydro Application with Hydro resonance for the 25% more HP for Columbina which scale massively with HP, all of her DPS scales with HP... its a classic fail of not understanding how too much Reactions and too less required application of one Element lead to too less DPS, compared to a more focused team build, that uses only 1 single Reaction (Luanr Charge) and has for both required Elements enough application to keep that one neccessary Reaction conastantly happening, instead of lettign it rival with an other Reqaction, that isn' that effective agaisnt the shield.. cause despite both beign lunar damag, only the Lunar Charge is effective agaisst the Shield, not Lunar Bloom, which scales us lesser in DMG and does therefore more hits. But what you need agaisnt the Shield, is RAW POWER, not hits
Thats also the sole reason why other people, which don't have the fitting Lunar Reaction Characters basically brute force this battle on even higher difficulty settings than you, with teams like: Mavuika, Xilonen, Kazuha and Furina/Citlali.
I'm pretty sure you have what it takes to beat that boss fast enough, but the key to your goal here is either Mavuika, or a pure Lunar Charge Team. Bloom is counter productive here, unless you have Nefer and Lauma together with a very good built Nefer, because then you'd have likely with Columbina together the neccessary DPS to break the shield fast enough. Nahida is too weak/slow for that role
Commentaires
Columbina and Lauma are great sub dpses, but they don't do damage often enough to get through the shield in time
The real problem is that Ineffa doesn't work with Lauma+Nahida. Columbina's skill as the only hydro app won't be able to remove such strong dendro aura and you won't trigger lunar charge.
You're correct about the dendro, though. Replacing Nahida with a second hydro will help.
But Columbina DPS team includes Aino (or Yelan, or any other Hydro) for a reason. You want dendro and Electro to be triggered over hydro to maintain both reactions simultaneously than having not enough hydro on both
In this exact team Nahida simply applies too much dendro to allow any LC to trigger and switching her Aino or another Hydro would be a better choice.
You are wrong about focusing on one reaction but you're not wrong about the team needing adjustments
But for the dog I have only flins . No ineffa no Columbina ( trying to get her).
I initially barely beat it with Furina Neuvi Escoffier Skirk, then switched to Citlali Escoffier Furina Mualani and beat it with 30s to spare (citlali C2R1, all other C0R0).
I cleared fearless with Columbina, Ineffa, Sucrose, and Fischl so you can definitely do Menacing.
Edit: Apparently, as what others said, you just need to replace Nahida with another Hydro.
It's more so that you lose consistent Lunar Damage in favor of more DPS, Lunar Bloom (Not Lunar Bloom Damage) with Columbina would be slower than just keep proccing Lunar Charged.
Meanwhile, C1 Aino just has 15s of 80 EM and 8s of 120 EM, plus slightly more consistent Hydro application.
on menacing you don't get energy and i feel like you also have a bit less time to break the shield, it's deadass harder with certain teams than fearless
To be clear, I meant this as a genuine question since I haven't looked at Menacing at all. I do really wonder if they have different mechanics.
in menacing shield explodes at 1:33, in fearless it explodes at 1:23,
so in fearless you get energy + have more time, in menacing even if you manage to get energy the shield phase is over before your burst animations end
Columbina has to be on field charged attack spamming to get lunar blooms off. Dash cancelling the charged attacks was also important since Columbina gets interrupted too easily.
I focused only on the boss, ignoring the mobs since they were too spread out and you really need to break the shield fast.
For lunar reaction teams you just ignore the chickens and go to town on the dog and avoid taking too much damage from the laser beams.
And make a lunar charged focused team.
Put a electro or hydro main dps, add sucrose.
And you should be able to easily clear this boss at this level.
Destroys the shield ASAP with cryo application.
Hit the boss, not the minions. Also despite what I said, maybe switch Nahida to Aino if you have her.
What should their artifact sets be?
They'll be doing most of the dmg ehile chasca, nuvi Arle etc will just be drivers.
Aubade on both? But some say better to just put silken on Bina as the total dmg of ineffa will still be higher.
Silken is good for ER and EM buff 20 percent dmg bonus only.
Anyone tested in Millistra?
The birds were there to bear witness to the horrors I would unleash upon those who dare to defy me.
Lunar reactions? Hah, more like brute force murder
I’m glad there are people like you actually taking the time to understand the boss mechanics rather than just bitching about Lunar teams.
Thanks a lot.
Non-lunar ones, hit the chicks
1. I think hyperbloom was ruining the application;
2. Yes, I know. Targeting the dog for Lunar teams, and the summons for non-Lunar teams. Did not work for me, my lunar damage is not enough. There's always around 1/4 remaining shield.
It’s crazy! This was tough man. Specially cuz this boss and minions run a lot, get away from your attacks and the gravity ring.
I literally brute forced it and still was tough.
Wtf do you mean that isn't the shield bar?!
