I think Ray voluntarily redid the entire 4.0 script for Neuvillette when he got to the final scene and realized he misunderstood the character. Man is a legend.

Short answer: it's the voice director's fault

Long answer: the voice director didn't direct Ray Chase well enough about what Neuvillette's normal attack does and even if they've already recorded the lines and learned more when the visuals were now available, the director still decided to keep them despite Ray Chase offering to rerecord them.

Neuvillette's voice is perfect as it is. It's just the lines of the "normal attacks" that really feel unmatching with the character. What has the Studio even thought?
