Genuine question. I’m doing the start of the Nod krai missions, and I just don’t like Sandarone. She didn’t deserve to die, but she is, in my own opinion, an abomination between man and machine.
Can’t, it really is just dragging.Questing is boring.

lmao
lmfao even
Pristine-Pop19672026-01-22 15:32
So what was the basis for your question? Why bother asking if you're not interested in the story?
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-22 15:34
My basis for the question is the fact I’m asking: how does someone get attached to an abomination between man and machine? And how can you even STAND these archon quests, they boring as hell.
tyjz73_2026-01-22 15:37
How come you say you like the game in your bio then? If the game is that boring to you?
How is she any more of an "abomination" than Ineffa, or Scaramouche, or even Albedo? Being mechanical isn't an abomination.
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-22 15:39
They’re abominations too. THEY’RE ALL ABOMINATIONS. That’s what people don’t seem to understand. With me, an abomination ranges from a Servitor from 40K, all the way down to clockwork machinery.
tyjz73_2026-01-22 15:47
So origin defines moral worth? How is one full moral agent different from another? That's a slippery slope to go down. Especially since the majority of Genshin characters are not human.
I could somewhat understand the position if they lacked agency and personhood, but that's not the case in Genshin.
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-23 00:35
I don’t have an issue with characters that aren’t human. I have an issue with any of the other characters. Specifically the puppets. One of my favorite characters in all of fiction is probably the Eldari from 40K. I have no problems for people without morals, what I dislike is Sandarone. Dottore is a machine, yes, but he’s what I’d expect from a robot.
Pristine-Pop19672026-01-22 15:58
That's a bold accusation to make. What's your evidence to say that people do not understand? Your made up definition of an abomination?
Here is what AI has to say about the common definition:
An abomination is something or someone considered vile, disgusting, hateful, or extremely offensive, representing intense moral revulsion or horror, often used in religious contexts for sin but also in everyday language for terrible acts like cruelty. It signifies something that inspires deep loathing, often described as a terrible or loathsome thing/person.
Key meanings of abomination:
Intense Disgust/Hatred: An act, object, or person that causes extreme revulsion, like cruelty to animals or war.
Sinful/Wicked: In religious texts, it translates Hebrew words for things considered exceptionally hateful or sinful, like idolatry or specific forbidden acts.
Repellent Being: Can refer to a person so horrifying or unnatural they are barely considered human.
Examples in context:
"Cruelty to animals is an abomination."
A Puritan might view theatre as an abomination.
In fiction, the Marvel character Emil Blonsky becomes the villain Abomination.
Synonyms: Abhorrence, detestation, loathing, execration, anathema.
...which means you may also be an abomination, right?
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-23 00:29
Yup. I hear that a lot.
Pristine-Pop19672026-01-22 15:43
1. How did you arrive at the conclusion that she is an abomination? She is a puppet of clockwork nature. This sets her apart from Wanderer, another puppet of irminsul wood, and Ineffa, a robot made from dragon technology. People are attached to Wanderer and Ineffa, so why are you questioning about Sandrone?
2. The mere curiosity because I want to know the facts of the story to understand where other players come from when they say they like certain characters. Sounds similar to your question, right? Don't play the story if you find it boring. Don't ask about the story if you find it boring. You're just baiting people into an empty and baseless discussion.
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-22 15:45
I have a very one-set mind, if you will: machine shows emotions = they’re abominations that deserve to burn. Basically, I prefer Dottore to Sandarone. :|
Pristine-Pop19672026-01-22 15:49
Well, Alain made Sandrone with a fully functional emotion module. Why? Perhaps that was a projection because he was a cold brother to his sister in life. But Alain is already dead so the player has to read between the lines to reach that conclusion.
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-23 00:32
I don’t think you understand how little I care about that. I dislike the fact she’s entirely clockwork. And also, gear and steel can be repaired.
tyjz73_2026-01-22 15:50
You do know that the Dottore we met is also a machine? The way he survived for hundreds of years is by placing his consciousness at different ages inside of mechanical puppets (a technique he learnt from studying Scaramouche).
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-23 00:30
…. Yeah. He too, is an abomination that shouldn’t have been made-
LeiciaY2026-01-22 15:27
Maybe come back and post again after you finish all the Main quests.
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-23 00:31
At stage 4 of the quest, still don’t like her.
Pristine-Pop19672026-01-22 15:28
What do you mean by abomination? Isn't she full clockwork?
Apprehensive-Car13922026-01-22 15:35
That’s why she’s an abomination. A clockwork abomination with the fees of a man but the functions of a machine.
tyjz73_2026-01-22 15:28
Well if you'd do the quests you'd understand why most people like her as a character.
Own_Skin_14512026-01-22 15:29
to many speculation that Sandrone will come alive again and knowing Genshin where no playable character die I don't really care tbh. I would care if Sandrone is dead permanently like capitano/signora. (I kinda forgot if capitano is dead or just in a "coma" state.)
