Skirk vs. Dainsleif
Those two are among my favourite Genshin characters and I cannot help myself but trying to imagine how their encounter went.
As far as I'm aware, there are two elements which give hints about their encounter: the *Star Odyssey* short video, and Skirk's voice-overs. Thanks to those elements, we know that:
* Dainsleif recognized Skirk's bladework as having heavily been influenced by Surtalogi's teachings
* In the short video, Dainsleif's face is seen in a reflection from a blade and Skirk is seen rushing forward after Dainsleif interrogates her, which hints at a physical confrontation.
* The encounter went awry enough for Skirk to declare that she does not want to meet Dainsleif again.
This leaves me with several questions, the most important being: how did their suggested duel end? Was one able to overpower the other, for instance causing Skirk to retreat through an abyssal gateway? Or did they fight for a while before realizing it was a waste of time and energy since they had no business in being enemies? Or did they not truly fight at all and Skirk just retreated as soon as she noticed Dainsleif's agitated behaviour?
Also, I'm wondering what caused them to meet in the first place. As in, what were the circumstances that allowed Dainsleif to witness Skirk's swordmanship? Did he stumble upon her by chance as she was slaying a creature whose remains she wanted to sell? Did they somehow meet in the Abyss (I doubt that though given Dainsleif's hatred for anything Abyss-related)?
What about you? What do you think, and do you think that despite Skirk's reluctance those two are bound to meet again (especially through their shared connection with the Traveler ; as it happened, they actually both were in Nod-Krai approximately at the same time)?
