Losing 50/50 Sucks
Losing the 50/50’s suck. Especially for a FTP player. For whales, yes it sucks but here’s another hundred and boom, you got what you wanted. FTP? Another fire unit gone bc of 50/50 gods. I just lost the Ineffa 50/50 to qiqi, and am devastated. I have barely enough time to hit pity again and had no opportunities to farm primos. I have all regions 100%, including Natlan and the small little ones in other nations, so I have nothin but dailies and events to look forward to. I’ve missed out on Lauma, Mavuika twice, Arle three times now, and now Ineffa. Which, might not seem a lot but for a FTP player who always hits pity around 76 pulls, it is a lot. Great units I’ve missed bc I had to lose. Honestly, does anyone know how to cope? I am ftp who spends lightly, maybe a welkin here and there and maybe a bundle if I get lucky. This is probably a sappy post and most of people will probably just think, “WAH WAH it’s just a game” but as someone who puts hours into farming primogems this really sucks over and over again. Guess I’ll continue trying to farm for ineffa these next 12 days. Wish me luck everyone

I've adapted this mindset 4 years ago, like i only pull when i have at least 30k+ primos and never pull weapon banner unless absolutely needed... I have mavuika, citlali xilonen from natlan, skirk premium with furina escoffi and only have ineffa columbina for nodkrai.... Only have nahida as my sole sumeru unit and furina arlechino as my fontaine unit and all excess gems for 1-2 years goes to natlan and skirk... Completely F2P since 4 years ago
That means skipping a lot i know but ensures the char always goes home
If theres a char i like while not having the required jades on release i skip completely. ( ineffa😭)
Edit ( i used zzz terms so changed that ) haha
P.S. if jahoda was a 5 star that probably would have been too hard to resist
Personally I wouldn't spend the next 12 days farming unless you think you can 100% secure the unit. Will burn yourself out further otherwise.
Also best not too get too attach to units you can't secure. FPS goals should be to get a select few units every region, don't wager on the gamble. If you don't you run the risk of starting an addiction and emotions get played. It's the predatory nature of gacha games, and how they make their money.
Yep, best way to think about it! Can secure yourself Mav since she should be the next archon to rerun.
Anyways, wish you the best.
I haven't spent anything in Genshin for 2 years now, and yeah, it's so much more difficult. But I was still able to get everyone I *really* wanted by just not getting the characters where I thought "might be nice to have". When I really want someone, I skip other characters. I always assume it takes at least 150-160 pulls to get a character. And I never prefarm unless I'm certain I can get someone.
I'm not defending the gacha system, just trying to tell you what I do not to be too disappointed when you lose the 50:50. I'm still disappointed whenever I lose though, haha. xD
If you don't have enough and still want to try getting someone, just accept that it might not work out. And save for the rerun. I had to do that many times. Save, and always keep enough primogems to get that character instead of using all for the next one. That's why I often calculate my pulls.
If losing a 50/50 depresses you, don't roll at all unless you have enough wishes to guarantee the character even if you lose. When you have under 180 wishes in reserve, go into saving mode. Ignore all banners - no matter HOW tempting they might be! - until you bring your reserves up to 180 or more wishes. Once you have those wishes in hand, start planning out which 5-stars you'd like to have.
Having those wishes in-hand also preps you for "surprise" banners like Chronicles, in which you have too little warning to work up to a guarantee from nothing.
After the first time building up a 180-wish reserve, future build-ups become easier because it never ACTUALLY takes 180 wishes to get a character. You'll always have some leftover to start your next reserve - and if you actually win the 50/50, you're more than halfway there already.
If you do decide you're going to roll on a banner with too few wishes, assume that you're going to lose. You're rolling for a Standard 5-star, not the banner character. Never hold out hope, or tell yourself, "Surely I can't be unlucky forever?" Yes. Yes you can.
Assume the worst, prepare for the worst - and the worst can't touch you.
Getting characters and weapons is gambling, like every other gacha game.
Like every other gacha game, if you don't have enough pulls to get a pity guarantee, then you don't have that character.
Like every other gacha game, you will never get all the characters you want, because gacha games paywall content in the form of characters.
