The question is akin to "what are these strange structures", whereby the response "that's where the spaceship is" doesn't actually answer what these structures are.
Incredibly saddening this even has to be explained. Here's a simpler analogy for the smoothbrains: "Why is the grass green?" "Oh that's where my dog took a shit"

It could just be lighting + texture. If you look at the crater directly to the right you can see a similar "wrinkly" texture around the edge

No idea what this is, specifically, but yes, there's structures on the moon. We do see some ruins next to the ship, after all.
[Someone also went through the trouble ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Lore/comments/1oyqkxf/3d_model_of_the_megastructure_in_the_colors_out/)to extract the models seen in the Colors Out of Space quest, which seem to be [very much on some moon](https://imgur.com/gxbOtqa) and also contain a large, [unidentifed round structure](https://imgur.com/zDWPmUE).
So maybe there's a connection here.

Fun fact, the Colors Out of Space ruins area can be found under the map still! It's beautiful but so aggravating to get around in because once you land somewhere jump, skill, and burst go away and you only have normal attack. Visitors in your world can apparently still skill. But it is fun getting a look at the structure again.
There's also a vortex under the map that lets you do the fly-through all over again. You come out of it in a fall loop in the void, but you have plenty of time to open the map and teleport. And visitors can't go through it so no buddy flights. It is, however, funny to see a guest standing on the vortex while you get sucked through it.
