Help with planning

I am a free to play casual genshin enjoyed and would like some advise on how to save my pulls. My want list is C0 Varka and maybe his weapon at R0, 1 copy of Raiden to get mine to C2 (I currently have her at C1), with 1 copy of her weapon at R0, and a C0 Shenhu.

I really want Varka and maybe his weapon but I don't know much about it yet. Ive heard that Raiden is good at C2 but her weapon is a something I would really like. Ive not pulled on a weapon banner before and I can't share the Catch between her and xiangling as they are on the same team.

I'm guessing with Lantern Rite coming they will have a Liyue thing to get Shenhu on. I want her for my Ayaka freeze team and since she is on the daily commission thing I can eventually get her to C6 for free.

Main Question:
How many wishes do I need to get all of these things? I currently have 200 wishes at 30 pity after losing the last 50/50. I'm not really good at figuring this stuff out so any advice is really appreciated, thanks!

We already know who's going to be on the Lantern Rite banners and it's Zibai and Neuvillette. I wouldn't expect to see Shenhe.

I haven't seen anybody expecting to get Raiden soon though I suppose it can be assumed that since the archon trek has begun with Venti last patch and Columbina (archon adjacent) this patch, I'd imagine Zhongli would be next patch, then Raiden in the one following but that's just me spitballing.

So really that gives you plenty of time to use your pulls on Varka (assuming he's coming in the upcoming patch) and his weapon and save the rest for the future.

Oh okay okay. I got Raiden coming because I believe she had a rerun in 5.4 last year and didn't realize i made that assumption again. I figured Shenhu would be on the Chronical banner for Lantern Rite and not on the Limited banner. I couldn't remember the banner name. But it sounds like you are in the know so thank you for clearing things up for me.

Hoyo would have announced a Chronicled Wish already for this patch if they were going to do it and they have not so there's no telling when they'll do one again, much less for Liyue.

Oh okay I see. I thought Chronicaled wish happened at Lantern Rite. Man, im really outside the loop on this one. I avoid leaks and stuff because I don't want spoilers. I'm a slow player and don't progress to the next nation until I 100% everything in the previous nation. I'm currently making my way through Sumeru. Thanks for all of the info and insight!

Nope! So far Chronicled Wish has sort of happened at unpredictable intervals, it seems to me. It's not a Lantern Rite only thing. You might be getting it confused with the thing that lets you pick any Liyue 4\* you want to have.

your sorely mistaken on many counts. first of all the free liyue 4 STAR selector won’t include shenhe, she’s a 5 star. also you cannot select the same 5 star more than once on the free constellation selector and it won’t last long enough for her to be c6’d. also having one of a certain weapon means it is r1, so if I have one widsith my widsith is r1. not r0. also to guarantee all those things you need 610 pulls to guarantee all those things (if you count shenhe now that you know she isn’t free. not including shenhe is 530. you’d need 60 to get your first limited. 180 to guarantee the next. 160 pulls to guarantee one signature, 160 for the other and then another 90 or so for shenhe.

Oh I see. I thought the chronicled wish was Lantern Rite. Also, I didn't know about the weapon refinement so thank you for explaining that as well. Thank you for breaking down the numbers for me. I don't pull on characters much. Based on your numbers, I'm almost half way there without Shenhe! Now I have a number in mind to grind for. I do have one more question for you. The constellation selector is a permanent feature right? You get 1 copy per rotation and then can select that same character after it resets to eventually get to C6, or is it just temporary and will go away? Thanks again for breaking things down for me. I'm not really good at video games.

although I’m a newer player, I know this is the first time this event has happened. whether it’ll happen on genshin anniversary next year or not is uncertain for now but according to the timer on the event tab it’ll go away in 31 days, so a month.
