The length people go to blame Genshin for everything lol....

Game that was in development hell releases and it’s bad? Can’t be its own fault, gotta blame someone else!
SF-UberMan2026-01-23 04:26
Development hell? What happened there apart from the Paypal disaster?
Frostgaurdian02026-01-23 04:53
People are still unhappy with pull cost.
Daeths2026-01-23 05:10
Idk, but I heard more about how long it was taking then about the game its self on the gatcha subs
sosen72026-01-23 04:28
But Genshin exist so clearly every bad game is Genshin's fault /s
Flimsy-Writer602026-01-23 04:40
NOOOOOOOOOO YOU DON'T GET IT! IT'S ALL GENSHIN'S FAULT! EVERYTHING IS GENSHIN'S FAULT! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE //Ignored that HG just used their old gacha system with some tweak lamo.
NoOne2152026-01-23 04:41
Goddamn Genshin is behind this somehow.
Chance-Range28552026-01-23 04:41
Development hell? It wasnt even that long when it was first announced no?
Daeths2026-01-23 05:11
Idk, I never followed too closely, but all the “fans” kept complaining about how long it was taking. I think they had stopped posting updates for a while and maybe people over reacted?

Gotta blame somebody, otherwise it's all my fault. Fuck that.

Bold of you to assume they actually spend their time playing, and not complaining on reddit based on what they've heard from others
Izanagi322026-01-23 04:51
I feel like people came into the game with the wrong expectations, from what I’ve seen its main niche will be people who like base building like clash of clans than actual combat junkies

Apart from very good optimization, fantastic 3d arts and somewhat good voice acting, everything about this game deserves some amount of criticism.
demongodslyer2026-01-23 04:40
Soo... Everything about the game, except the gameplay is good
Endergamer333002026-01-23 04:26
Can you elaborate, i have no idea of their gacha system and prodadly won't be playing due to storage issues
SirColonelSanders2026-01-23 04:28
From my memory it's:
- 80 pulls to trigger 50/50
- 120 pulls to trigger guarantee
- Any pulls past the 80 mark does not transfer between banner changes.
goens7772026-01-23 04:31
In short, there are 2 separate pity systems:
- 50/50 at 80 pulls, no guarantee, carries over
- 120 pulls guarantee, no carry over
People are mad because the game's pull distribution is so dispersed such that it feels bad to accumulate pulls. This is further exacerbated by the fact that banners only last 2,5 weeks and the fact that guaranteed pity doesn't carry over.
So, you can't just try your luck unlike the Hoyo games and WW.
PandaBlueDance2026-01-23 04:42
Wait, do you mean at 80 or below pulls you are never guaranteed the featured unit? How much does 80 pulls cost roughly?
Rogalicus2026-01-23 04:47
You're never guaranteed until 120 pulls and it doesn't carry over. You can lose 50/50 indefinitely.
Derpywurmpie2026-01-23 04:49
10 pulls cost 4000 of those gems so about 32,000 and 120 about 48,000.
YannFrost2026-01-23 05:03
As someone who play Stella Sora. It depends on 2 things. Economy and rates.
Stella Sora also have 2 pity system
1. Anytime you hit a 5\* (6\* Equivalent) you get a 50/50 chance of getting limited. Can lose multiple time until you hit 160 pulls for guarantee. Carries over
2. 120 Pulls guarantee, no carry over. First time only.
Rates are 2% with a banner lasting 3 weeks. With character pulls giving you some weapon pulls (Which doesn't matter because dev give free 5\* max weapons every 3 weeks). And you get about a 140 pulls per 6 weeks.
So At worse case scenario you get about a little less than 2 limited character per 6 weeks (Which is a patch cycle)
So I suspect Endfield would be like about 2 characters per patch cycle. However, because there is not guarantee for the 80 pulls there is only guarantee for 1 limited and not 2 like Stella Sora. Which is about the same as the big 4 gacha games.
I don't play Endfield, so I am curious about the rates. Is it 2% or is it somewhere like .6%?
goens7772026-01-23 05:04
It's 0.8% iirc
based_mafty2026-01-23 04:41
I would add that you can earn weapon gacha ticket from pulling. And for character gacha at 30 pull the game would refund you 10 pull. But that 10 doesn't count toward pity. On top of that at 60 pull the game would give you 10 pull for next banner. But it's only for next banner and if you don't spend it the pull expire. It's overtly complicated gachas for no reason.
irsyada0072026-01-23 04:29
yeah, they stick with there original Arknight Gacha System
instead of modeling it to follow the market trend
IncomeStraight85012026-01-23 04:46
That is worth shitting on tbh, from the amount needed for a character to also weapons is crazy.

if anything happened, even WW3, it's genshin's player's fault. Even if they play like 3 gacha games, it's always genshin.
Far_Championship21112026-01-23 04:30
Yet somehow the pros that genshin brought to the gacha scene is missing ... God knows my experience with ToF is what keep me away from Endfield but Im still into wuwa.
Zealousideal_Two42722026-01-23 04:35
Wuwa is goated to me, the storylines are good, fighting feels good, and the insane amount of random things you can do while exploring and gimmicks it has is new.
bakachanbaka2026-01-23 04:42
Wuwa having a good storyline is a first
Out of curiosity what do u mean random things? And which gimmicks?
Zealousideal_Two42722026-01-23 04:44
Becoming an ice cube for a chest to fit a pattern, doing the block rolling game for the new zone, motorcycles, flying, jusy a ton of random stuff that is at least entertaining, and you might be right abt it not having a great overall storyline but I have liked their main quests so far, cartetheyia quest was fun and felt well made, storekeeper one was pretty random to be put at the end but still felt important.
LameSillyHero2026-01-23 04:50
Wuwa 1.0 story was rough but with 2.0 it has done much better with it's story and 3.0 is pretty good too.
Albireookami2026-01-23 04:40
Even genshin has worst systems then its other hoyo games. I would say zzz is creeping up on the more generous game.
app082026-01-23 04:49
More generous, but the powercreep is horrendous. Each new character feels as if they become useless after two patches. It just makes me not want to pull.
Albireookami2026-01-23 04:50
No nearly the case imo. There is rotating weaknesses and flavor that favors the newest unit but I'm still using teams from a year ago, and they are buffing a ton of old units each patch.
DepressedAndAwake2026-01-23 04:50
It's not. It has the worse in terms of comfort creep, and is visibly trying and failing to kill off use of a single character that causes issues with the wider roster and doesn't even hit her as much. It also does 2 new a patch, and has since launch, so the pull income has to be counted with that in mind.
Albireookami2026-01-23 04:55
the higher unit release can be counter acted by research and pulling teams instead of every unit, that's something all Gatcha focus on, and more so even Genshin recently with its forced new synergies you need to not have a headache against the new bosses in the endgame.
I would say genshin is the absolute worst in the "need X unit" for endgame than any of the 3 hoyo games.
Yea Miyabi was a problem and they don't want to make her the instant "I win" but that really doesn't affect much unless you have her, and even then you need 4-5 full teams to max out all the endgame modes so she is hardly a factor in the overall scheme.
DepressedAndAwake2026-01-23 05:00
>I would say genshin is the absolute worst in the "need X unit" for endgame than any of the 3 hoyo games.
Which happens much less frequently than the others. ZZZ literally is known for the shill bosses in endgame that want the newest character to beat or help beat. It's been a pretty big problem, basically since Miyabi released. The current Shiyu and DA are bosses that all lean towards specific shills, and this is an easy cycle for both.
>the higher unit release can be counter acted by research and pulling teams instead of every unit, that's something all Gatcha focus on
The issue is that this doesn't last nearly as long. Look at Ju Fufu for example, getting crept out of her spot in 4 patches by Dailyn, only saving grace for her is the new DA allows her some use, because Dailyn is on a different team.
The rate of rollout also makes creep more likely, because there is only so many niches they can cover in such a short time without overwhelming the players with mechanics.
Albireookami2026-01-23 05:04
>Which happens much less frequently than the others. ZZZ literally is known for the shill bosses in endgame that want the newest character to beat or help beat. It's been a pretty big problem, basically since Miyabi released. The current Shiyu and DA are bosses that all lean towards specific shills, and this is an easy cycle for both.
As long as you have a brain and can hit weakness and mechanics your team doesn't much matter, Fire weakness I use Ellen, Lighting weakness Sanby, I now have a fire and ether team, only thing that I have to watch out for is an anomoly focused boss as I don't have a team for that just quite yet.
>Look at Ju Fufu for example, getting crept out of her spot in 4 patches by Dailyn
AGAIN, you need 5 teams my man, Ju Fufu is still going to be used with Yixuan 9/10 if the person also has Ye Shunguang because only one Dialyn exists, so you have to spread your units out.
Even then you still want to have multiple of the same type to spread them out to teams. There is a reason they created a 5 team endgame mode and spread out mechanics, because you will need multiple teams, so no one is really "power crept out"
DepressedAndAwake2026-01-23 05:29
>AGAIN, you need 5 teams my man
You need 6 total, idk where you are getting 5. Of which, they are possibly the same, so you only need 3. 3 for Shiyu, 3 for DA. There is no endgame mode that needs 5 total teams.
And again, HP inflation, DA buffs and shill mechanics make those still variable for the common player, and that ceiling is getting higher. The fact that some characters have been buffed 2 to 3 times is a sign that the games design is not ok, and that it has become something else now. Look at characters like Caeser, whom players are begging to be buffed, because she went from a top support on her launch and some patches after, to being borderline useless, due to the game mechanic focus changing away from her hard.
Albireookami2026-01-23 05:37
Shows how much your keeping tabs on the game, You forgot Threshold Simulation, the mode that has you needing up to 5 teams , it resets a lot less, because it takes more time to fully clear.
[In case you forgot the final fight does need 5 for easy score, but can use 4](https://imgur.com/a/q5ISHAj)
DepressedAndAwake2026-01-23 05:40
Oh yeah, I did forget that, because I straight up did not care about it. Because it resets like, once every 2 months. I cleared it, and have yet to return. Meanwhile, Shiyu and DA reset every 2 or 3 weeks, thus putting more focus on them molding the state of endgame.
This doesn't mean the game doesn't do shill endgame more often, as all of that, is in DA and Shiyu, which refer back to the previously mentioned reset timeframe.
Albireookami2026-01-23 05:50
You not caring or paying it any attention does not make it not count as an endgame mode.
Andastari2026-01-23 04:30
Games nothing like genshin why is it even being compared? It's not open world, the combat system is completely different and it centers around the factory gameplay to the point where even the maps need you to make a network of pylons to power them and make zip lines to get around
scorchingnova2026-01-23 04:45
It's almost like these people have no idea what theyre talking about.
Frostgaurdian02026-01-23 04:54
Because they really have no idea. It's just like when people that play miyazaki games (aka soul fans) try other games and say souls like and complain when those games aren't 1:1 copy or made by miyazaki.
LameSillyHero2026-01-23 04:48
The only thing it has that is Genshin-like is the "reactions" characters can do to trigger combos with other characters.
Izanagi322026-01-23 04:56
my thoughts exactly lol, weren’t most cc’s saying that the exploration wouldn’t be the main gameplay loop compared to building your own factory? I feel like its similar to clash of clans than other gacha games
NeoZen_772026-01-23 04:31
As we know, Hoyo strictly follows Gabe Newell's philosophy of doing nothing and letting your competition shoot themselves in the foot
So yeah, It's clearly Hoyo's fault. I don't know why people question this
FewInstance72772026-01-23 04:33
As someone who actually played ark nights I can confirm that the UI looks nothing like Genshin's and the only similarity in the combat is that they have elemental reactions, that's it
DepressedAndAwake2026-01-23 04:51
Tbh, the reactions are closer to ZZZ than Genshin anyway, with how disorder works in that and elemental effects works in Endfield
DeadenCicle2026-01-23 04:33
Genshin’s combat has a lot of depth, but the depth comes mostly from the amount of characters you can mix in teams, the reactions, and enemy mechanics/traits.
ghostpetni2026-01-23 04:34
got downvoted in endfield sub for commenting this.
DeadenCicle2026-01-23 04:38
People often judge things they don’t have much knowledge about, and brainlessly downvote you for having an informed opinion instead of conforming to the ignorant majority.

Metalguy20102026-01-23 04:34
Genshin is the reason why COD is in the state that it's in.
I saw a leak once where the main character did a thing without powerups. This made the player think with strategy, with conviction, and other postive things. But because Genshin has powerups, it has ruined Call of Duty. /s

Like obviously Genshin has a bunch of issues, but some of these issues aren't really Genshin's 😅 But if you defend Genshin or enjoy anything abt it you immediately get called a "Hoyot*rd" so it's a lose-lose.
fat_mothra2026-01-23 04:36
Hoyo is just chilling and all the competitors just keep bombing their launch and then their fans blame it on Genshin and repeat the same speech "doomposting astroturfing blah blah blah"
Otakumilitia2026-01-23 04:36
"Covid-19 lockdown and its consequences"
And people complain why its always Genshin that be mentioned
Cultural-Cucumber4012026-01-23 04:37
Genshin has been a punching bag for all gacha problems for a long time now so its no surprise.
AverageCapybas2026-01-23 04:37
They added dodge, so its clear that they're copying Genshin!
No other game ever had this! Also, really good strategy to not dodge and actively avoid attacks... Hope every game follow the idea of that beta. (Necessary /s)
Also, how adding dodge would limit any of the other aspects? lmao they could have kept outlined and windup attacks. Its a dev choice, and you can be sure it isn't a Genshin dev either.
All I heard until now is that the game has bad story, bad economy, bad gender ratio, bad this and bad that... the only good thing I've heard is good graphics. If anything the Arknights/Endfield community is the one thing keeping me away from testing this game this weekend to see if I like it.
Dramatic_endjingu2026-01-23 04:37
The game is good? = Watch this Genshin, your competition is soooooo much better, Genshin players love eating slops so they won’t understand the greatness of this game.
The game is bad? = Genshin players were behind it, the devs want Genshin money that’s why the game is bad.
For all its faults Genshin had a very strong start with the introduction to the world and game systems. The first story was also serviceable. EF isn’tbad at all though and I enjoyed my time with it but having so many systems in the game can be hard for some people who just want to go about it casually. I like the factory system and stuff tho so I’m excited to play more.
Saveonion2026-01-23 04:37
Thanks Genshin is the new Thanks Obama
LegendaryW2026-01-23 04:40
TLDR: Stupid people acting stupid. My genuine review down below.
It is especially funny, because people complained that game factory mode is confusing. It is despite the fact that it's already had decent tutorial.
Now devs made tutorial explaining as much as possible and now they are complaining that's they are getting handholded.
UI is fine, there's a lot of menu on first glance, but most important ones are accessible by pressing a single hot key and other ones are not even appearing on the screen unless you open the main menu.
Combat is not worse than Genshin. I would say that it is basically the same one, except you have an actual Dodge and instead of cooldown on skills you have to manage a shared resource. Personally, I like it more but it have some downsides since you kinda want to have characters that can help regenerate resource. (Fought few bosses, difference between having SP battery and don't is VERY noticeable. Also I like combo system, very neat).
Basically beginning of the story is introductory and just like every gacha game that had it: You go around, help locals, learn the world and gets your footing before actual big stuff appears. It is classic way to start a story and so far, I don't see any problems with it, especially due prologue being quite good one if you know Arknights lore.
Also, saying that this game copies Genshin is like saying WuWa copies the Genshin.
Sure you can pinpoint some similarities very easily (HUD, some basic systems), but when you actually play the game, you get completely different feel and vibe. Well, those people would have noticed it as well, if they actually played the game instead of arguing on X. But alas.
lovinpiee2026-01-23 04:41

Genshin actually created life, death, time and Space. We all had it wrong. And Btw the game is nothing like genshin, I see no climbing so clearly they listen to the wrong genshin players.
StreetWatercress86092026-01-23 04:42
i have played GI(still playing) wuwa hsr and zzz and now I'm trying endfield and from my experience GI is the least handholdy of them and will never ever take control of your curser
genshin impact tutorial have alwys been 3 or 4 picture you can go through them and never bother you again
and some of these devs need to learn that espeisailyespecially the endfield devs because OMG it is a horrible experience
FlameDragoon9332026-01-23 04:43
"player feedback ruined the game"
if devs listened to the wrong feedback, that's absolutely on them. maybe try having artistic integrity and not buckle at the slightest pushback.
ZZZ had this issue too with TV mode, and I blame the devs for buckling, not with the players who disliked TV mode.
AppUnwrapper12026-01-23 04:43

Chances are these are the ones who got gaslit by the famous band of clout drama CCs who have since jumped from game to game to prove that Genshin could never.
Nicolu_112026-01-23 04:46
It's a correct assesment though. I wouldn't say it's bad because of genshin, but it got "modernized" compared to the beta test to resemble new gen gacha combat. Endfield's beta tests' combat was way less action packed than launch one and it can be easy to guess that it's to follow on modern 3D open world gachas (i.e, genshin) footsteps.
hansQQ2026-01-23 04:47
Imo the worst offender of AKE's faults, is the character designs. I just quit the game after i did my pulls and i just did not want to play with any of them. Goofy ah ears on every single unit and disgusting lizard men and pandas with leather jackets.. ☠️
Izanagi322026-01-23 04:49
Genshin haters always sound like bitter ex’s that haven’t gotten over their break up 😂. Everybody who’s played more than 1 gacha game that it doesn’t start getting REALLY good until first anni
Frostgaurdian02026-01-23 04:52
The combat is system is nothing like genshin. It is more like xenoblade if that what i understand. Like you use a skill and it applies a debuff.
grumpykruppy2026-01-23 05:01
I mean, I've been playing Endfield, and it's... not that bad? Definitely not perfect, and there's a lot that's simply "okay," but it's got a lot of good points as well. The tutorials are often extremely handholdy, but God knows that something like the AiC system needs it - they're incorporating base building and resource management as a core feature, 90% of gacha players will be screwed. And there's actually even MORE tutorials that the game *doesn't* strictly require, though it does stick a notification on them to get you to take a look.
Visually speaking, it's both beautiful and well optimized, so it's got that going for it. The world isn't anywhere near as interesting as Genshin's nowadays to explore, but it's fairly comparable to the likes of Mondstadt, or to early WuWa, albeit lacking wings, gliding, or generally any aerial movement except for the ziplines.
Combat is indeed simplistic, though, and needs some improvement. Things rarely feel punchy enough, and it's weirdly samey for having such varied character designs and multiple niches. A lot of kits have different animations, but *feel* similar to play.
Gacha isn't great, but it isn't as bad as, say, Umamusume, so the impression kind of depends on what your expectations were and how many rewards they give going forward.
Story is 100% setup (for obvious reasons), but it isn't as good as the original Arknights, IMO. A little too safe and feels risk-free (for the characters, not just the writers), a beloved band of... industrialists... bringing technology to the new frontier (boy, it's a good thing the world was conveniently uninhabited beforehand, or we could definitely be the villains from a certain point of view). It really lacks the feeling of genuine struggle that Arknights had, being the leader of a medical organization/safehouse for people with an incurable, virtually always fatal disease that rendered them outcasts. It's a stark switch-up from "idealism meets harsh reality but the goal remains" to "just idealism," unless there's something major that I haven't gotten to yet or that will come in future patches, and Endfield Industries has basically everything it could conceivably need at the drop of a hat - in short, it feels like the good guys have the upper hand, so the stakes are vague at best.
Far-Letterhead49452026-01-23 06:07
Despite its fault... I Don't think the combat was ever considered bad. You have so many options and create so many teams to tackle the same boss!!

Yea Miyabi was a problem and they don't want to make her the instant "I win" but that really doesn't affect much unless you have her, and even then you need 4-5 full teams to max out all the endgame modes so she is hardly a factor in the overall scheme.
There is a reason they created a 5 team endgame mode and spread out mechanics, because you will need multiple teams, so no one is really "power crept out"
You need 6 total, idk where you are getting 5.
[In case you forgot the final fight does need 5 for easy score, but can use 4](https://imgur.com/a/q5ISHAj)
This doesn't mean the game doesn't do shill endgame more often, as all of that, is in DA and Shiyu, which refer back to the previously mentioned reset timeframe.
So yeah, It's clearly Hoyo's fault. I don't know why people question this
And in a single sentence, you have summed up the last like, decade of internet discourse.
I saw a leak once where the main character did a thing without powerups. This made the player think with strategy, with conviction, and other postive things. But because Genshin has powerups, it has ruined Call of Duty. /s
And people complain why its always Genshin that be mentioned
But alas.
genshin impact tutorial have alwys been 3 or 4 picture you can go through them and never bother you again
and some of these devs need to learn that espeisailyespecially the endfield devs because OMG it is a horrible experience
if devs listened to the wrong feedback, that's absolutely on them. maybe try having artistic integrity and not buckle at the slightest pushback.
ZZZ had this issue too with TV mode, and I blame the devs for buckling, not with the players who disliked TV mode.
