hey guys! who do you think, in your opinion, is the most powerful (politically speaking) charachter of every region? it doesnt matter if there an pc or npc. i wanna hear your thoughts. and if you have time, why do you think these character will the most power in these regions. again, npc are included if they are powerful.

I sometimes forget that Yae was in every practical sense the Inazuman archon for five Centuries. She kept everything running with Shogunator as a figurehead until Ei suddenly came up with the Sakoku decree at the start of the game.

I guess that's why she so easily played every factions like her puppets in the Archon quest. From the Fatui to the resistance to the tricommission to traveler, they were all basically dancing to her tune, all so she can enter Ei.

The game tells you word for word how governance in inazuma works. Tricommission reports to the shogun -> Shogun processes the information -> she gives out orders -> Tricommission implements them. Miko doesn't have much of a power in that, heck she couldn't even stop the tricommission from betraying the shogun and colluding with the fatui, that's how little influence she has.

Yeah and the houses of Britain report and are technically subjects of the Royal family too. It doesn't change the fact that they are figureheads. The entire point of a figurehead is they have the power but doesn't practically exercise it.

Shogun's orders were always to maintain eternity aka stasis. Sheer didn't hold the gnosis. GNS is the one behind the running of the social and civil fabric of the nation for five centuries.

There is no evidence until VHD to show that Shogunator actively governed, the Tricommission came up with proposals and Shogun signed off on them. They mainly stayed in line because they all fear the Shogun.

Also Yae didn't stop the Fatui plot because she used the unrest as a means to reach her goal of getting Ei to come back out at which point the exitant issues solve themselves.

For both Mondstadt and Liyue I think the archons would hold the most sway if they chose to appear. Ignoring that I think Varka has a lot of sway to be able to send most of their knights on expedition, although being away for so long it may be Jean now. In Liyue I think it’s Ningguang. In Inazuma Ei/the Shogun holds the highest political power, except in Watatsumi where I think Kokomi is the most powerful. In Sumeru I think it was Azar and then Nahida. In Fontaine I think it’s currently Neuvillette. Mavuika in Natlan. In the Frost-Moon Scions I think it’s technically Columbina, but she doesn’t want that role so in practice it’s actually Lauma. Nod-Krai is difficult since it doesn’t have a government, but the head of the Voynich guild might be it.

Edit: in Simulanka it’s King Navia as long as none of the goddesses show up

Morax didn't control the wealth, he just minted the money that kept track of the wealth. There was no way for him to interfere with its circulation -- unless he prevented his own nation from engaging in trade, which would have been antithetical to him. Practically speaking, he didn't interfere in Liyue's affairs at all, making his appearance in the Rite of Descension only once a year. If he wandered around in the guise of Zhongli, to all appearances he was a consultant for Wangsheng Funeral Parlor with no apparent political influence at all.

Inazuma: kamisato ayato since he control the yashiro commission which is the only entity in inazuma untainted by the fatui and the vision hunt decree since this is the only commission that looks after the people, the people of inazuma has full support on them. Essencially ayato already have the sway of the civilians because of the soft power of its clan also ayato control the intelligence network of the nation.

Sumeru: nahida since she is the current dendro archon that has actively participated on the running of the nation

Fontaine: neuvillette no doubt since he is the Iudex the highest position on fontaine

Natlan: mavuika since she is the pyro archon

Nod krai: technically it should be Nikita the leader of the light keepers since the lightkeepers are the one who are protecting nod krai from the abyss and they are the one who act as a law enforcement of the region also the tsaritsa gave the light keepers her blessing of giving nod krai some autonomy from snezhnaya in exchange of protecting nod krai but given the lightkeepers is in its weakest, they no longer have the same authority as the once had during their early years.

Not really because Kujou’s head was replaced by Ei. All the commissions are incharge of different things and the military is still under Kujou, while Yashiori mainly handles cultural events. Yae or the Narukami Shrine is not part of the tri-commission anyway, and has more say in matters concerning Inazuma. She is only next to Shogun in power.

Never really bother to analyze the argument dont you? Did i say that the shrine was control by the yashiro? No, all i say that both of them work closely together because they do the same purpose in mind. Regarding desertion and loyalty, all im saying that the tenryou commission army has not that kind loyalty the same as the shuumatsuban to the yashiro, and loyalty is important in maintaining your power, the fact that ayato manage to reduce the power held by the two commission says alot about the power he held. And i did not contradict the lore to defend my so called "headcannon" i based my decision on the current situation of inazuma after the vision hunt degree as two of the commission lost quite alot of political power after the civil war leaving only the yashiro commission intact and even increased its power after the war and people clearly chose the yashiro over the tenryou, yes it is clear that the tenryou is powerful since they control the shogun army but the yashiro is by far more powerful politcally since they have the sway over the people of inazuma. Yes yae has the second power over raiden but the same can be said to ayato as he has more of a hands on control on the administrative side of the nation while yae has a close connection to the shogun its the same as that of the adepti and the qixing. Also i based on the assumption that the shuumatsuban is better than that of the tenryou because of thier undying loyalty to the yashiro as opposed to the shogun army who had a high desertion than that of the shuumatsuban.

You can keep making up excuses, it won’t change the lore. “Same can be said about Ayato” Not even close, you are comparing the current head of Yashiori commission to someone who has had influence over Inazuma for more than 500 years and is part of the divine bloodline because Hakushin was quite literally a god. Yae freely interacts with Ei who is the head of the state while Ayato would have to even schedule a meeting with her, and even takes decisions on her behalf sometimes. Half of Inazuma is Youkai who Yae looks after and has worked for several centuries to integrate them into human society. Ayato himself listens to Yae and is basically following Yae’s orders most of the times. Kamisato clan is quite literally doing Yae’s bidding most of the time because she quite literally saved them.

I think in political terms, as of now, Ayato is more powerful, his commission seems to be the most competent right now, he has a high influence on the other two commissions. He is in charge of foreign policy, he commands his own loyal interal security forces (although Shuumatsuban is aldo dependent on Grand Narukami Shrine). He has no less behind-the-scenes connections than Yae (thanks to Thoma in particular). If the Electro Archon is gone, it's unclear who will seize the power in Inazuma. But since Grand Narukami Shrine and Yashiro Commission are too closely connected, feud between them is unlikely, e.g. declining public trust in religious institutions of Inazuma will harm both the Shrine and Yashiro Commission.

That was not a public declaration. It's not unheard of when the appointed successor fail to seize the power (Yae is not even the official appointed successor AFAIK). Mortals overthrowing the divine is not unheard of in Teyvat. Sorry, if Nahida is gone, Arama or Arabalika would lose in a power strugle with Cyno or Alhaitham, despite being Dendro Archon's familiars. I know the example is exaggerating and out of character, but you give little examples of Yae's political power (although she definitely has it). Her power, semi-divine status and lineage definitely contribute to her political power, but it's not enough, even Focalors (appointed heir btw) had problems with legitimacy in eyes of both supernatural creatures such as Oceanids and the people of Fontaine (after the creation of Furina).

Literally excuses when the archon herself is declaring that Yae will handle the nation in her absence. “It was not official” she going to PoE was also not official and still Yae handled everything for the last 500 years from integrating Youkai in society and making them closer to humans. “Not examples of her power” there is if you actually fucking read the lore. Inazuma’s most important place is the Narukami shrine, the one that has literally existed since before the archon war and the familiar of the archon guards it, and it’s no secret in Inazuma that Sacred Sakura is the most important tree. I discussed the situation where the Electro Archon is gone, otherwise our dispute is meaningless as the Electro Archon is the most politically powerful person. When the Electro Archon disappears. Yae's closeness to her means less. People do not know that Raiden declared Yae to handle the nation although she'd be one of the contenders by analogy with Saiguu who handled Inazuma when Ei departed for Khaenriah IIRC. Every nation has an important tree and religious institute, it doesn't stop people from doubting it, even though Inazuma is the most devoted nation, it didn't stop its people from rebellion against their ruler and god despite their most important place being this god's temple (even if Yae kinda maintained neutrality and IIRC the rebellion never declared their goal to overthrow the Electro Archon, it doesn't matter, see: Wagner mutiny). Kokomi also dealed with Kujou Sara and had a full-fledged cooperation wih Yashiro via a dummy company. Screen time means nothing.

Your point that “Yae’s closeness means less” is quite literally debunked because when Ei left for Khaenri’ah in a hurry after finding out that Makoto went there, Inazuma was handled by Saiguu in her absence and she was the one who was incharge, not the commissions.

Mondstadt: Jean rn, but Varka overall. They are effectively the head of state and oversee almost everything. Seamus (Barbara and Jean’s father) as the head of the church also holds immense influence.

Liyue: The Qixing. According to the lore they are equal in rank. Ningguang holds authority over the law so probably her. Uncle Tian holds authority over policymaking but he isn’t known by the public.

Inazuma: Either Yae Miko or the Tri-Commission Leaders. That being said, 2/3 leaders of the Tri-Commission left after the events of the Inazuma Archon quest so Yae and Ayato probably have much more influence than the others.

Sumeru: Probably Nahida currently. There’s no Grand Sage atm and Alhaitham does not enjoy being in leadership. Aaru Village Chief Uncle Anpu probably has the most power in Aaru village.

Fontaine: Neuvillette to some extent, although his need for impartiality does constrain him on some level. We can’t really see how exactly the state of Fontaine is run.

Natlan: Mavuika, and it’s not particularly close. Each Tribe Chief also holds a large amount of power in their tribes. Iansan is highly respected in the CoP as the Head Fitness Coach. Citlali could be the centre of the MoNW if she tried.

Nod-Krai: There is none, that’s kinda the point. Every faction is fighting for power and none of them have complete power.

Jean for Monstadt. You can make a case for Varka or Diluc but keep in mind that when the Fatui can't knocking she was the one that organized the resistance against both Dvalin and the Fatui.

Liyue is Ningguang, she is technically the same rank as the other Qixing but she is the richest, has a literal floating Nuke, lead two Liyue defenses, and has become the de facto human contact for the Adepti.

Inazuma is Yae Miko. She is practically the Archon for the past five hundred years serving as the shadow ruler with Shogun as a figurehead. She practically controls Inazuma's culture via the Yae publishing house, she is like 90% of Inazuma's soft power. That combined with Ei being very inexperienced at actually ruling (she never ruled before Makoto died and then went into POE to meditate), her finding her footing as a ruler over civilian matters, her tendencies to defer to Yae on policy, and Yae's ability to control every factions in the nation's borders makes Yae undeniable.

Nahida is Sumeru's political center after the Archon quest. While Dori is the richest, Sumerians defer primarily to knowledge and not wealth like Liyueans. Nahida really began flexing her rank after she lost her inferiority complex after forgetting get predecessor. Sumerians gained massive admiration and deference to her, she is exerting her influence over the akademiya and gets involved with a lot of the day to day issues.

Fontaine's political centre would be Navia. She has been shown to have her fingers on the pulse of Fontaine on the ground. She shows up already pushing through a plan of some sort during literally every major Fontaine event, investigation or altercation, from the trial to the missing women's case to the Melusine threat letter case, missing women's case, etc. She can organize riots even at the opera epiclese, she gets her people to just pull suspects out from hiding multiple times in the story, plus she owns the nation's transport network and she has a working relationship with the house of the hearth. She's seen as the people's champion (they are sustained on donations rather than organized crime).

I can make a strong case for Arlecchino too though but I don't think the HOH is as extensive or embedded in the populace as the Spina.

Natlan's political centre is Mavuika she's low key kind of a Mary Sue. She united the tribes 500 years ago, is the strongest. In the modern day she is still respected by the entire nation as miss perfect and people don't even blink when she asks them to fight.

Nod Krai's political centre is Nefer. She is similar to Navia except she's said to be very ruthless at leveraging her information. She runs the northern information Network too.

Although for Nod Krai, no one person is powerful everywhere unlike the other nations. Nefer isn't powerful in the research center or Hiisii Island where Sandrone and Lauma are in control.

It's interesting if you think about head control and also diplomatics, ot the person people go to when they go to the region.

For example, Mondstadt has the church as political power and KoF as defensive power acting together. We don't know the head of the church and what they do for real, so for now the diplomatic power in Mondstadt is Varka. Diluc controls the money but he does not have much influence himself on the governing of the nation. Archon is AFK.

Liyue is the Qixing. The Tianquan is the face of them, so yeah, lady Tianquan is the most influential person, not talking about monetary power. Archon is dead.

Inazuma has a head in the Shogun but the Shogun is merely the face. No one comes to the shogun from the outside, so it's the tri commission. Tenryou and Yashiro are the ones that deal with foreigners, one on diplomacy and other on trading, so hard to say. Archon is out of reach, Miko leads the nation behind the curtains.

Sumeru is basically controlled by the Akademya, and the grand sage has a lot of power, but now Nahida is back. The archon and Akademya controls affairs inside, the eremites work as individual parts, we have Aaru village as the face of the desert and Lord Sangehma Bay as the most influential trader.

Fontaine is ruled by Palais Marmonia, and the ultimate voice is the Iudex. Archon position got transfered to the Iudex.

Natlan is a separate state of many tribes which all recognize the archon as the ultimate authority. Archon is alive and punching.

Nod Krai has many factions, and currently they made a council joining all of them. We know Curatorium of Secrets and Voinich Guild are the most influential ones, hard to say which one has more political power. Nefer deals with information and Voinich Guild deals with all other tasks. Moon Goddess just returned, but has no political power.

Sneznaya replies to the tsaritsa, but it seens Pulcinella is the one with more political power around, while Pantalooney has the monetary power. Seens both of them control Sneznaya.

Mondstadt - easily Jean. Varka has been gone for several years and Jean has picked up the slack ever since. Jean is the closest thing to a ruler in Mondstadt (who technically doesn’t have one). You could also throw in the Church of Favonius and therefore Dahlia/Barbara as the Deacon/ness (they are the same rank). Seamus would be included but he hasn’t returned to the main city yet. Diluc is notable though because Mondstadters cannot function without their alcohol and Diluc has a monopoly over the industry lmao.

Liyue - The Qixing are collectively the governing body in Liyue. This includes Ningguang and Keqing (who are equal in political power; I see a lot of people who misinterpret Ningguang as the de facto leader). Uncle Tian is the only other Qixing member we’ve met.

Inazuma - Excluding Raiden who is the active ruler, it’s probably Yae Miko. The Tri-Commission are the governing body in Inazuma, but the Narukami Shrine is an independent entity and Yae Miko is the leader of it, and has political leverage equal to all three of the Commissions combined.

Sumeru - Excluding Nahida who is the active ruler, I’d say it is the 6 sages of the Akademiya. A current member being Naphis (Tighnari’s mentor). Fontaine - Neuvillette. There really isn’t anyone else that comes close. He is basically the government lol. You could technically say Wriothesley, but the Fortress of Meropide is an independent entity that technically is not part of Fontaine’s political ruling body (it is related though and works together with the law enforcement).

Natlan - Like Fontaine, there isn’t much to go off of. It’s just Mavuika and the 6 tribe leaders. Citlali also has some say in things because of her just being around for a long time. The 6 heroes also have some influence.

Nod Krai - technically lacks a governing body. After the events of the AQ, Nod Krai has formed a council, which I assume hold equal powers in “governing” Nod Krai. So if you really wanted to name people, some of those members would be >!Nefer, Lauma, Illuga, and hilariously Aino!<.
