I just restarted back my game after 2.5 years break
So about this event, does this mean that I won't qualify for the constellation since I need 8 weeks to complete all of them?

Don't worry, the event will come back 2 more times this year, so you'll have an opportunity to get at least 2 free constellations. (I'm assuming it'll also be here yearly from now on, but idk. Maybe next year we'll have more characters too)
