What is the co-op meta right now?

Talk about either 2 people in Co-op or 4

for lack of a better explanation, which conceivable team would do the most damage in a coop setting? assume it's not against any shill bosses or anything.

I'll go first

2 person teams

>!Varka!< Durin + Venti Bennett

Neuvillette Furina + Skirk Escoffier

Varesa Durin + Mauvika Cheveruse

Nefer Lauma + Columbina Nahida?

4 person teams

Nilou Kaveh Columbina Lauma?

If you are looking to carry team mates, then lunar wheelchair - Ineffa + Columbina

Black hole - C1 Venti + Durin

Mav - Citali + Mav

In most of these cases, the other characters don’t even matter, your team mates can even afk.

The highest damage ceiling team right now is nefer premium, so C6 Nefer, C6 Lauma, C6 Columbina, C6 Nilou.

Meta characters are so affected by constellations just one C6 can potentially beat out a whole team of C2s.

It's supposed to be a conversation about field time, so in this team Columbina and Nefer are doing charged attacks, Lauma is constantly refreshing her buffs, and Nilou is not doing much

So Nilou Columbina + Nefer Lauma is perfect

But that team isn't meta (probably) in 4 player, because Lauma and Nilou are wastes of being 100% on field. You might want a Mona who can get huge uptime on her buff with normal attacks, or neuvillette to do his own damage.

Do you understand what I mean by co-op now? Maybe the post was confusing a bit

I see what you mean, but having high field time or in your case “actions” doesn’t equate to more damage. A 4P phys dps team like Eula, Freminet, Fischl, Zhongli would all be constantly attacking, so no time is ever wasted, but doesn’t mean it’s good. Due to ICD and elemental application, sometimes having a character like nilou just stand there with her ring active is much more useful than damage buffs Mona can bring.

I don't see why the 4 being active at the same time would change the team's dps. Nearly all good teams have support characters who have basically no field time.

But teams without support characters are much worse, even if they can be on field at the same time.

On-fielder A - Useful off-fielder for on-fielder A / On-fielder B - Useful off-fielder for on-fielder B

Bonus points if the off-fielders are also useful for the other person's on-fielder
