I need Wanderer name suggestions, please and thank you
I'm almost done with Sumeru and I'm so close to the Interlude chapter where you can give Wanderer a name, now the problem is I'm both extremely picky about a name and it's meaning, as well as rather indecisive (it takes me a literal month to decide what I want for Christmas and my birthday) so I would like to see what other people named him and the meaning behind the name mainly because I have this really weird desire to give him the perfect name
Also, just so I don't get disappointed when I get to that quest, do the genshin interlude chapters unlock after the other? Like do I need the "Perilous Trial" one to unlock the one where you can give Wanderer a name?

i named mine a random japanese word: tenma because im a huge fan of monster
yes what I have done is very boring.
My Wanderer name is pretty boring tbh. I just went with Scara since I'd been calling him that since his first appearance back in 1.1. One of my friends went with Scarawhoosh and another went with BabyGirl (this one was pretty popular among Scara fans back then for some reason). And my bf went with Kafka because "I like Kafka." I've seen some people look up Japanese names or names of Japanese gods for thunder/electricity or wind if you want something with more meaning.
version 3.3 in EN is called "all SENSES clear, all existence void"
.
.
for the word i capitalize in above sentence, indonesian translation uses the word "indra"
and since indra is also sankrit god of sky and said deity has "anemo-y" feel to it, i named my wanderer indra
Because he's a puppet
Because he's a puppet
Because he's a puppet
named mine Shinzou because he doesnt have one yet gained one.
or mr grumpy. xD
He's with Nahida, so I figured that name is perfect and fits
There is NPC named Fujin in World Quest in Chenyu Vale but I don't care.
He once made a bet with Yae Miko on who could eat more ramen, he won but was bedridden for a month as the ramen contained tofu (which is made out of beans)
I don't think it has been confirmed how much she ate, but she can go pretty far to troll people so it wouldn't really surprise me if she ate almost as much. Also would not surprise me if she knew Itto would be allergic to it
This makes more sense. I bet Yae ate like maybe 2 bowls, went "I'm good", and just sat back while Itto ate a metric fuckton of ramen
You can imagine why I thought it was a fitting name for him lol
So in the light of the only friend he ever had in his life as Wanderer I named him Niwa so he can always carry his friend with him wherever he goes
Juanderer
But you do get an item that lets you change it later so you can pick one that works well enough and then change it when you find something you really like. That's what I did.
since he historically *has* actualized his shit and is searching for something new, i thought itd be a nice way to immortalize him. naming him a buddhist (sumeran) word that frames his past in a more neutral way and gives him flexibility in how he approaches his future.
my other option was figaro. like from bohemian rhapsody. but i figured he kinda outgrew his shit by the time he erased himself.
1) The literal meaning: In Greek, Aeolus means "Changeable" or "Quick-moving." It’s the perfect reference to how much his nature changed after our fight. He’s no longer a fixed puppet bound by fate but a shifting free spirit who can finally define himself
2) The mythology of the "Keeper": Aeolus wasn't born a god. He was a mortal king who earned Zeus's favor and was made "Keeper of the Winds". This mirrors Wanderer’s journey perfectly. A mortal creation who earned his Anemo Vision and mastery over the elements through his own trials
3) The "Wind Bag" Connection: In myth, Aeolus is famous for carrying a large bag to contain the world’s winds. This is a direct Western parallel to the Japanese wind god Fujin (who Wanderer’s design is based on) who is always shown carrying a massive wind bag on his back
4) The Floating Island: In Greek myth, Aeolus lived on the floating island of Aeolia. I thought this connects to Wanderer’s unique gameplay as he is permanently hovering
5) The Linguistic Fit: The game already uses Greek/Latin names like Venti (Latin for "The Winds"), Boreas (Greek for the "North Wind"), and Cyno (Greek for "Dog"). Aeolus (The King of Winds) fits right into that official naming scheme
1. He was created by the Shogun, who is an archon (which I guess she is a diety?)
2. His element his anemo
3. His JP va is the same as Jin Kisaragi/Hakumen from Blazblue, so the "Jin" part is a reminder of who his va also voices. Also imo, both Hakumen and Wander had a similar path on some point.
Oh and..
4. It was from a Yu-gi-oh! Card
Me i named him “CycloneRider”
i forgot i named him that and the first time he was mentioned again in the story, i was so confused and thought, “who the fuck is pellegrino?” 😂
