what are your thoughts and ideas about lunar freeze

My thoughts are that it doesn't exist.
Killer_Klee2026-01-23 16:53
You could say it's development is lunar frozen.
HuTaosTwinTails2026-01-23 16:53
It doesn't exist so I have no thoughts. It's clear at this point that only lunar charge, bloom and crystalize exist.
Asplomer2026-01-23 16:53
We won't get lunar cryo reactions at all, cause they are leaving the cryo buffs for next region. I think
Neospanner2026-01-23 19:23
Eh, not impossible we'll see others. They'll just add them to Columbina's kit as they arrive.
There's precedent for elemental reactions to just suddenly be around as though they've always been around, as was the case with every Dendro reaction apart from Burning.

It felt like such a tease calling her the "Frostmoon Goddess" but have no lunar freeze. I do hope freeze and superconduct gets an upgrade/sidegrade in Snezhnaya. Skirk+Coffee+hydro is a strong team but it doesn't really do anything special with freeze.
That said, catalyze also needs an upgrade. Catalyze-based teams are just so far behind everything else now.

It should do nothing but enable Lunar Shatter.

I don't know, but I think there is a reason why lunar does not have reaction with pyro and cryo. Those 2 and maybe anemo would introduce a new reaction
Glum_Truck_7242026-01-27 00:08
I made a post (that got no interactions LMFAO) where I theorized that similarly to how the lunar reactions buffs weak hydro reactions, we will get a buff to weak pyro reactions under the name “solar.” The missing reactions that are in need of a dire buff are overload and burning, and then to mirror the lunar geo buff a, pyro swirl reaction. I specifically think something like this will get implemented with the introduction of Khaenriah due to the whole celestial body themes (and the fact that it is right under the desert where it’s the hottest and dryest).
This leaves only superconduct, which we already know will have some attention given when Sandrone is playable, and probably snezhnaya. Maybe 7.x will introduce a cryo x dendro reaction too?

It doesnt exist and it wont exist because of how huge the powercreep it would bring would be. Imagine Skirk was able to do lunar damage on top of what she already does now.
Lunar-swirl would make sense in my opinion but I dont think we will be getting any more lunar reactions at all.
MeowjestyMeowgician2026-01-23 18:05
Uhh Skirk won't be able to do lunar freeze dmg tho even if lunar freeze becomes real. Just like no electro, dendro or geo character can do lunar dmg other than nod krai 5 stars.
dnzgn2026-01-23 18:21
Non nod-krai characters can do lunar damage with Nod-Krai characters together. And the damage calculations take both characters' damage to mind.
MeowjestyMeowgician2026-01-23 20:58
Non nod krai characters don't do lunar dmg by themselves, they can only trigger lunar reactions with columbina, not other nod krai characters iirc. Only nod krai units trigger lunar reactions in non columbina teams. Dmg calcs do take the characters with the highest CD that triggers the reactions tho.

Well, even though it won't be real, it doesn't harm me to have a fun thought since I am able to think as a human being. It's a community of a game anyway. We can just have fun instead of being super serious and always try to win over strangers all the times.
Once contact with Hydro and Cryo, there will be a crack meter applied to the enemy (somehow to not make it too annoying to look at when there are many enemies). Attack the enemy will fill the meter, heavy attack like plunge or claymore will fill it faster. Once the meter is filled up to 100%, deal one Super Massive Lunar Cryo Damage to the enemy, ignoring its DEF.
If they can change Crystalization to deal multiple hit damage, then it wouldn't harm to have some mechanic that has to stack up damage to deal one huge damage. Oh wait... I just steal it from Eula! Ehe~☆
There can be another like dealing Damage Over Time, but that's more like Melt (edited: I mean Burning) so... I prefer the Eula one.
The_Great_Ravioli2026-01-23 17:31
I would rather Hoyo give access to lunar reactions without needing a specific 5-star. Either make a weapon or 4-star character.
vampzireael2026-01-23 17:33
Why are Cryo and Pyro left out?
Pomegranate-Basic2026-01-23 17:46
Do remember some reels about Cryo lunar reactions, some thorn branches will pop up like the geo crystallise and do Cryo lunar dmg but it was during some 5.6/7 update and never Heard anything about it after that

Lunar Frostbite, how I'd call it just needs to work different, than normal Freeze, that alone would solve many issues.
* Doesn't stop enemy movement like normal Freeze, but reduces Enemy Movement/Attack Speed by 50% and causes Cryo DMG over time while the enemy performs actions/moves, so as long you have constant Hydro Application, Lunar Frostbite sustains itself permanently as long the Enemy just does something, only if the enemy theoretically would stay still for a longer while, it will stop.
* After receiving enough Cryo Damage over time, causing Critical DMG to frostbitten targets increases with the amount of Cryo Damage Hits taken by +2% each Cryo DMG/Hit received, thus the longer the Lunar Frostbite lasts on an enemy, the more Damage will you become able to deal over time to the target, as the permafrost basically corrodes the enemy's ability to defend themself
* Lunar Frostbite affected Targets become able to suffer under Lunar Mist (when hit by Pyro, which ends then also the Frostbite Effect), which is the alternative form of Melt, which causes 2x DMG Multiplier, and creates a Mist Effect, which is basically a warm Steam Cloud, which when you enter it, you gain Stealth Mode, becoming temporarely invisible for enemies. Enemies, which had Aggro on you, will lose it and when you attack Enemies out of Stealth Mode, you perform Surprise Attacks, which will be 100% guaranteed Critical Hits with a Bonus of 50% Crit DMG. Was the Surprise Attack a Charge Shot, then you have 100% additional Crit DMG. Was a Weak Spot hitted, then it increases to 150% Bonus Crit DMG. Stealth ends after performing a Surprise Attack, or after it's duration of 10 seconds has ended.
* Lunar Mist increases in Stealth Mode your Movement Speed by 20% and you regain Stamina faster.

Next region we'll get tundra melt, tundra swirl and tundra freeze, don't worry.
