just hopped on after who knows how many years, what happened

Considering you have kazuha, you may have been around for the release of Inazuma. Since then, 4 other nations have been released Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Nod Krai (technically part of Snezhnaya). 2 new endgame modes released in Stygian Onslaught and Imaginarium Theatre, which makes three along with Spiral Abyss.

Obviously, new characters released along with the element of Dendro. Team design has changed a lot. Bennett and Kazuha are still very usable, but Childe is pretty difficult to utilize outside of regular world content. DPS characters are now designed around having Premium Teams built around them which can consist of 2-4 5-star characters. They started releasing team traits that give additional bonuses when 2 or more characters in your team share that trait. It only exists on nod krai and certain mondstadt (hexenzirkel) characters right now but is likely to continue.

Several QOL were added and outside tools/resources are pretty helpful. Other than that, feel free to ask specific questions.

Assuming Yoimiya is your latest character, that clocks you in at 4th quarter of 2021. A little over 4 years.

SO MANY THINGS has happened since then. Good luck catching up, and as always, have fun!

DAMNNN you're cooked.

lots has happened since the start of Inazuma, I'd say just hop in and check it out, but to be brief, several map expansions have happened, Dendro characters happened with dendro reactions, lots of QoL, a TCG mode, A rhythm game mode, a Custom level builder and Custom game mode, and lots more.
