Who to pull for?

Hi! I'm trying to pull more for meta lately because I'm struggling with abyss/end game generally after taking a break during Natlan.

Current situation:

* Recently pulled Columbina and Ineffa,
* 0 pity, not guaranteed,
* 83 wishes saved,
* Can't buy pulls, so I'm stuck with one choice if I even win the 50/50.

I was considering Neuvi since he used to be extremely strong, I have no good hydro main dps, and I already have Furina + Kazuha, but I've seen a lot of people say he's fallen off hard with Natlan / Nod-krai. On the other hand, Zibai is being talked about as the new meta, but I've also seen opinions that she won't age well or isn't very universal.

So I'm torn:

* Pull Neuvi?
* Pull Zibai?
* Or save for **L**auma instead??

I've attached screenshots of my character archive + constellations.

P.S. Any advice on what teams I should focus on building would be super appreciated!

Currently I mostly use:

* Flins / Bina / Ineffa / Sucrose
* Varesa / Durin/ Chev / Iansan

I think the genuine answer is wait till we know next patch. Neiv is easy but he isn't top dps, never has been :(

Flins is currently the highest DPS without insane Mav combos, but you can also just get mav + citlani

It's also a good idea to pull Escoffiers for your skirk. She's not highest damage meta but some bosses want freeze heavily so she's the best cheese pick and your halfway there

Zibai is also gonna be top damage but she's gonna take your columbina from flins so it's a case of completion

You have durin so you can also grab mualani who's great currently ( sucrose, mualani, durin, mona)

Why I'm saying this, well it depends who even runs next patch. Wait for the livestream. If Escoffier runs get her. If citlani/Mav together get both. If Luama runs gets her. If none run get zibai

Or wait to see if varkas good

Oh and teams
Your best options are a mix of

Flins, ineffa, columbina, sucrose

Tao, ineffa, columbina, yelan

Varesa, durin, iansan, cheveruse

Durin on field, mona, furina, C6 bennet

Skirk, get Escoffier, furina, yelan

Kinich, Emilie, durin, iansan

A few teams just use a combination of albedo, durin and columbina

You kinda just pick based on the boss

Yeah! I also sometimes used Skirk, Charlotte, Furina and Layla (to shield for Skirks Calamity of Eshu, Dahlia felt too clunky) and Kinich with Emilie, Durin/Xiangling and Benny/Iansan. I honestly never thought of some of the other teams you mentioned though! I'll definitely try them out. Thanks so much for the help <3

Pulling exclusively for clearing Abyss is crazy because you're spending up to 180 rolls (worst case) for a roll and half a month. Just pull for whoever you like. It's not worth chasing meta for that meager amount.

Thanks for the response! I do agree that pulling purely for meta can feel wasteful. In my case, though, I already own most of the characters I really like, and nothing upcoming is a huge must-pull for me, so I was more curious about which character would be the most generally useful for my account, kinda like how Kazuha ended up being crazy good for a long time.

Also, I should've probably mentioned that I can fully clear Abyss rn (at least this patch), but even the menacing Stygian level is a struggle, which is why I started thinking more about overall account value (even though I know that mode is pretty whale-oriented).

Then in your case I would say getting Escoffier for Skirk would be the most important pull since you already have a Bineffa wheelchair and Flins. Citlali could be good for Arlecchino Melt but she isn't meta, just still very good it's just a matter of if you like Arlecchino enough to pull for her best support.

If you don't want to do either, I would just save your pulls since Zibai will want Columbina which takes away from your Flins team, same with Lauma being a support Columbina main DPS (im guessing that's the reason you want Lauma for?) which is worse than Flins premium in meta department.

As for Stygian, Menacing and above difficulties are just a matter of do you have the right team or enough X DPS to clear the shilled boss(es). Which is mostly fine because the primogem rewards are in Hard mode which is overworld equivalent difficulty anyway. I would consider sub-180 Dire a whale territory, any difficulty below that is just having the best shilled C0 team.

That makes sense, thanks for explaining it so clearly! Escoffier for Skirk does sound like the cleanest upgrade given what I already have.

As for Lauma, I'll admit part of the reason I was considering her is that she fits into a lot of newer teams, and one of my friends who got me into pulling meta uses her LOADS in Stygian. I could always look at Nefer for her later as well, assuming she holds up decently over time. I've also wanted Citlali for Arlecchino for a loooong time. The numbers they put out are (or used to be, lol) really impressive to me, so that could also work!

And true Stygian is literally a "you must pull the newest units every single time" kinda thing, which is totally bollocks BTW.. But anyway I'll probably just stick to Menacing when I can and skip Dire. Really appreciate the insight!!
