it's the timing of Yelan's burst eating your pyro aura tick when arle's pyro tick from her E applied. arle's E pyro tick triggers every 5s.
tho in your case it was Yelan's hydro aura that got taken by Bennett's burst. best to just burst first then E on bennet to guaranteed pyro aura.

Arle's skill shares an ICD with the initial hit and the DoT, and it's every-other-hit. So the Skill applies Pyro, the first DoT tick at 5s doesn't, then the 2nd (and final) DoT tick at 10s applies Pyro. Note how the tracker doesn't list Arle getting another Vape

Although you are partially right this isn't the real reason behind both clips.
Lan Yan, just like Kazuha, can self-infuse elements to swirl.
In the 1st clip u/fsociety19 swaps to Lan Yan and instantly used skill before Bennett's circle infused her with Pyro so the skill didn't swirl it.
On the 2nd clip you can see there's a little bit more of a delay before OP used LanYan's skill which allowed her to infuse herself with Pyro and swirl it.
In other words, OP needs to delay a second after switching to Lan Yan before using her skill. (Pay attention to the aura above your character HP bar)
I think Lanyan needs Bennett's self-Pyro to Swirl with? It's hard to tell, in both cases you're mid skill animation when you get Bennett's Pyro aura, but in the second time you're still charging towards the enemy, whereas the first one you were already bouncing backwards.

You can't swirl pyro and hydro at the same time, as soon as both are applied vape happens and cancels both, choose one to swirl. Also can I suggest to not lose time NAing with Lan Yan, as soon as you swirl, put Arle back and go nuts.

Just look at the DPS breakdown, Yelan is still doing 20-25% of the team DPS, so getting VV on her isn't useless. Plus it gives her burst buff more time to ramp up before Arle's biggest hits.

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding you but Bennett's field doesn't apply Pyro to enemies after the initial cast, it only continuously applies to characters

Ye sorry that doesn't happen in this team with Benny alone, I was thinking of another comp. Still, doubt how worth it is to wait to swirl hydro too and waste seconds of 2 different buffs, there's no try in this vod where op goes back to arle asap after the swirl to check that rotation's dps.

Bennett's buff lasts long enough for 3 N5D combos on Arle anyway, which is all she needs to reset skill CD and start the next rotation.
Also, as the other person said, you're misunderstanding Bennett's burst.

basically just wait until lanyan gets the bennet buff before pressing E (also gives you a tankier shield since her shield snapshots the buff)

If you want to swirl Pyro, let your Yelan to be your last pick on your rotation, Arlecchino's skill takes 3 second to apply Pyro and you just vape it on Yelan's skill and then burst so that's it, case solved.

Then what if you put Yelan first, then Arle & Bennett, and lastly Lan Yan? It sounds working since Arlecchino has lower time and also on the peak of Bonus DMG from Yelan as long as her rotation is depleting her Skill's CD.

Lan Yan can self-infuse elements; meaning she can swirl the element that is applied on her.
Bennett's Circle gives a pyro aura to your character after standing on it for a very short while (there's a slight delay though).
When you switch from Bennett to Lan Yan it's possible to do her skill too fast before the pyro aura is applied to her so she won't swirl pyro. To combat this you have to wait half a second or so after swapping to make sure she gets infused with pyro.
