Something i haven't seen people talk about.
It's also worth noting, Sandrones' death, and the death of the people part of Dottores' experiments after he became a God lie in the Travelers' hands. He could have negotiated. Dottore gave the Traveler like 20 chances, even until the end. Instead of Dottore giving the Traveler his sibling, he could have opted for Dottore to end the pointless blood shed, because as a god of creation, he could have made his own life forms to experiment on, the conditions the Traveler could have imposed was probably something like, "stop the pointless killing, you can create your own life forms to experiment on, and let me finish my journey, and i will join you". As we know, Dottore isn't unreasonable. He was backed into a corner, man got 5 v 1, and Sandrone lost her life. She, too, had a chance. Plus, he could have been much more cruel. He could have healed Sandrone the moment she died and killed her over and over again to torment the Traveler. He can, he clearly states he can mess with souls and stuff. Also, it's easier to heal and revive Sandrone, who is a machine, than it is a real human.

Just because the Traveler didn't agree to work with Dottore doesn't mean that the deaths of all those people lie with the Traveler. Dottore was the one who caused their deaths and he didn't have to do so, he chose to do so.
It seems like your misinterpreting how compliant Dottore can be.
>Dottore wouldn't have found some way to keep doing whatever the hell he wants no matter what agreement he makes with the Traveler.
You couldn't be more wrong. Throw back to that time with Nahida, he didn't have to complie with her terms but did so anyway. Then there is also the fact that the Traveler is his valued, most esteemed research guest who has absolute freedom to walk away. And the traveler did, Dottore let him escape with Wanderer lol.
>Sandrones' death, and the death of the people part of Dottores' experiments after he became a God lie in the Travelers' hands.
Dottore complied with Nahida's terms because he didn't care about keeping his other segments and, as he told her, he could just make more anyway.
But if he decides that the deaths of people will serve his interests even after he makes a hypothetical deal with the Traveler, I would not at all be surprised if he finds some way to justify it: "Our deal was only about *those* subjects, Traveler, not future experiments." For instance.
If Wanderer had not shown up, Dottore showed no sign of letting the Traveler just walk away. But the fact that a "new face" showed up and was able to break into his dome and snatch the Traveler out from under him was also probably intriguing enough to him that he didn't mind seeing what would happen next in order to learn more about Wanderer. Dottore had to realize, also, that it's not like the Traveler was going to leave Nod-Krai so he still had time/ability to work on the Traveler as we see him trying to do during the boss fight.
Well, i also remember him say how much of a pain in the ass it is to make a clone, i don't know about you, but even if you knew the method, its probably a bitch and a half to even make one.
And you go ahead and ignore the fact that he can create his own forms of life that are exactly the same, if not better than humans... but ok.
They were kind of free to, just like they were free to backstabe Dottore. When Dottore captured the Traveler , Traveler was definitely free to leave whenever he wanted to. Sure, Dottore wouldn't have let him, but that's only because he was still speaking. Plus, from the Travelers' perspective and walking straight into Dottore’s traps without context. In other words, staying was the rational choice, even if technically they weren’t chained.
Did you seriously say that Albedo shares responsibility in the deaths of others for something that happened before he was born and could have had no direct hand in? Similarly to this situation, that was all Rhinedottir's doing.
>And you go ahead and ignore the fact that he can create his own forms of life that are exactly the same, if not better than humans... but ok.
Well, then if they're exactly the same as humans, he's creating sentient life and then choosing to murder it which...really isn't that much more moral than if he just kept doing what he already was doing. I don't think this is the gotcha you seem to think it is.
Then why mention that he'll just go around killing people behind the Travelers back?
>But if he decides that the deaths of people will serve his interests even after he makes a hypothetical deal with the Traveler, I would not at all be surprised if he finds some way to justify it: "Our deal was only about *those* subjects, Traveler, not future experiments." For instance.
Besides, all life is sentient, and yet real life humans have cut up countless animals for experimenting, the reason why we have good medicine today is due to animal experimention.
It is the "gotcha", because he can't create them however he wants, without pain receptors, with them, without a consciousness, with a consciousness. Some human, some not so human. Even still, he's creating his own life as a God. I don't see people scrambling around calling Bible God a mass murderer.
I didn't say he'd just go around killing people behind the Traveler's back. I said if it suited his aims, he'd still kill people with some other justification to do it while still following the letter of his "deal" with the Traveler. Which you helpfully quoted me saying so thanks.
Anyway, we obviously aren't going to agree and I both need to go to bed and have said everything I intend to say on the matter so goodnight!
The God of the Bible IS a mass murderer lmao. The only ones denying it are the deluded followers with cognitive dissonance that blamed it on human's sin or Statan or any other bullshit to pretend it's not their god's fault. Wow, kind of like what you're doing right now, pinning his crimes on the traveler.
Lemme give you a short refresher
>Dottore: Lesser Lord Kusanali, you're an intelligent archon. I'm sure you understand the disparity in our combat abilities at this time... Besides, you have no way to use that Electro Gnosis in battle.
>Nahida: Didn't you say you were here to negotiate with me? Somehow it's starting to seem like you intend to take it by force now
>Doctor: I am merely stating a fact. After all, I am also a scholar. Naturally, I hope to show proper respect and dignity to the God of Wisdom.
His dealing with Nahida is an outlier not the status Quo. He made a deal with her out of hubris and Nahida used that to bluff her way into making him delete his segments.
You can't possibly look at one time he acted with some semblance of honor and ignored 99 times he backstabbed everyone he made a deal with.
Doctor is by all means a manipulative sick son of a bitch. If he tells you the sky is blue, you need to look outside and determine that and even then there is a chance he is lying.
You don't get chased out of his home town with pitchfork and clubs because you're a saint.
Thoth literally had to bullshit him to ensure Zandik didn't kill the companion that came with him.
He did human experimentation and aided in child experimentations.
He killed Sohreh.
Dottore caused the Inazuma Chernobyl.
Dottore orchestrated the Murder that eventually led Scaramouche to join the Fatui.
Left Scaramouche as he was being defeated because he was observing the experiment.
Dottore has on many occasions murdered people in cold blood for his own benefits.
There are many hints in the game that alluded to many of the shit shows in Sumeru, Inazuma and Mondstadt being orchestrated by him.
Dottore has an intensive record of putting his own interest above everything else.
Trusting him is like trusting a wolf to look after the chicken. I don't know why Dottore mains are hell bent on acting like he is some honorable scholar who will uphold his end of the bargain when he has a history of literally fuckin over his partners every single time.

You do realize thats not what it means to backstabe right? The only thing here that vaguely represents a backstabe is probably Scaramouche. But even then, its less of a backstabe and more of a manipulation.
I think your misinterpreting, Dottore is evil yes, but the overglazed hate is absolutely wild. Just because his evil most of the time, doesn't mean he can't be trusted, fuck look at arlecchino and Sandrone, all Fatui are equally as bad, yet its somehow an issue when Dottore is the center of it all? Crazy.
Man you deadass have no idea about his lore do you?
Thoth kept him from backstabbing. He backstabbed Sohreh and covered it up as an accident.
He killed Niwa after working with him.
He backstabbed him own segement.
I am forgetting more but he has done some more shit.
>Just because his evil most of the time, doesn't mean he can't be trusted,
If a game tells you that he will backstab you 9/10 times, chances are he will backstab you again.
>fuck look at arlecchino and Sandrone, all Fatui are equally as bad, yet its somehow an issue when Dottore is the center of it all? Crazy.
It is an issue because he is a villain. Not just an antagonist.
Do you know the difference between the two? Sandrone and Arlechino are antagonists but not villainous. But Dottore is.
I could start bringing up the Archons, but I've made my point. Dottore is starting to feel a little less evil now, but no ones comfortable with this fact.
He also wanted the traveler to kill 2 guys to get him/her used to killing stuff, so I don't think he planned to stay docile for much longer.
And yes he could have tormented the traveler but honestly he didn't really have a reason to do that, he still wanted the traveler to join him in the end, the power of a decender would have been far too useful to him so there wasn't a real reason to kill her (idk how to spell her name lmao) over and over again.
dottore claimed himself as god of creation, and said he could do a lot of things, but can he actually do it?
Why not he just create another descender? He could not, that why he so desperate to get traveler to join his side.
Even columbina, with her trilunar authority cannot revive sandrone, which means dottore also cannot revive the dead.
even archons and gods are affected by fate and irminsul. columbina still doesn’t know who wanderer is.
there is limit to gods‘ power, even heavenly principle, the most powerful in lore, can get weaken and now asleep.
even istaroth that has been living for a long time, and govern time, cannot just reverse time, and maybe prevent and the calamity that had happened in teyvat.
all the archons has lost someone close to them, zhongli also knew about the border world between living and dead. in natlan, the soul of the remain in night kingdom. but the dead still remian dead, even ronova, that govern dead, can also revive xbalanque soul for a very limited time.
so, if alain already prepared backup, and sandrone was revived, doesn’t that mean alain more powerful than god?
if there any possibility that sandrone get revived, it probably get something to do with pulonia. pulonia is alain latest invention, but for some reason built with less functionality than sandrone.
btw, did you avoiding the question ‘why the all powerful dottore not just create another descender?’
No, i just didn't want to type. Descenders are external to Teyvat’s system. They’re not just powerful beings they’re ontologically foreign. So expecting Dottore, who literally just ascended to casually fabricate one, is like saying:
“If you understand physics, why not invent a new universe?”
That’s not a power limitation, it’s a category limitation. And yes, this is exactly why the Traveler mattered. Not because Dottore is weak. But because Descenders are irreplaceable anomalies
Columbina profile story "Tri-Lunar Convergence"
> After acquiring tri-lunar authority, Columbina naturally had some questions:
> Could this power really do everything? What should she use it for?
> She felt that the things she wanted to do were almost all within the reach of the three moons' power: Moving freely between the moon and Teyvat, effortlessly transporting herself and other objects, making flowers bloom more brilliantly, causing fruits to grow fuller...
> She even tried to wake Sandrone up. But that was one of the few things this trilunar power could not accomplish for her.
A human will always be a human.
No matter how much borrowed power you give yourself access to, you will never change your inherent nature and fallabilities.
Also Dottore is evil and a self serving liar. Never bother listening to him because he does not speak truth. Everything he does is purely on the service of himself. Just kill him, capture his soul, shred it to pieces and move on.
Nothing the traveller can negotiate with this madman. He's only interested in the traveller's status as the Descender and wants to do experiment with it, hence why he tried his best to make the Traveller agree with him. Once he got his way there is not stopping him from killing everyone else, maybe even all Teyvat
