Stygian crab boss

I geniunenly don’t know who to use to clear the crab boss. I’ve tried everything I could. The closest team to clear was Yelan, Xq, Xilo and Fischl, but even then I had \~15% of the boss’ hp left. Please help.

Could try replacing xilo for kazuha maybe - he can group small crabs and his anemo hits the shields to help a bit. It can also swirl pyro off the boss to allow few vapes.

Kokomi is niche but in case you do have her on good damage build her skill can reliably hit the big crab horns + she can weave charged attacks in for faster shield breaks. But I don't know if this strategy would still be viable without Furina.

Would Neuvillette work if I decide to pull for him? What teams would I be able to slot him in?

Boss is made to shill Neuv and he trivializes the encounter. I think it is very foolish to make a pull solely for a single SO season though.

I’ve been wanting Neuvillette for a while, so it’s a win-win if I pull him. However I don’t know if I have any viable teams for him.

You don't want high hydro application with low damage or non-hydro damage on mini-crabs. They transfer the hydro damage taken to the main boss, killing them by depleting their shields will significantly reduce that damage.

Have you tried replacing Fischl with Raiden, or Fischl Xilonen with Varesa Xianyun?

You still have Yelan and XQ in the team. That is the same amount of hydro application as before.

You don't attack the boss directly, you kill the mini-crabs with Yelan&XQ while dealing as much hydro damage as possible. This will both deplete the boss shield and transfer 60% of the hydro damage taken from the mini-crabs to the boss as true damage. Raiden's energy refund will let you run Yelan&XQ on lower ER and higher DPS builds.

Boss itself has very high resistances while its horn is up. You want to avoid the boss entirely until the horns are gone.

You can also run Mavuika Citlali Yelan XQ, use Citlali for hydro shred and kill crabs, switch to Mavuika when horns are down for melt nuke. However your Mav seems to be low level which tells me that you might have not properly built her for this.

Thank you! My mavuika was used as a scroll trigger for varesa, but I have a dps build I can put on her. Does leveling her to 90 really matter though?

It doesn't, I just figured you might not have built her properly (maxxed talents, etc.)

Also funnily enough, one of your better options if you have Varesa's sig and a LNO set, is to put all of that on Barbara instead and just vape plunge with Xianyun Citlali Xilonen/Mavuika

Update: Thank you all for your wonderful tips, though they’ve certainly gotten me closer to clearing the crab, I still couldn’t clear it. It looks like I’ll have to take the L for now.
