Signora and Capitano seem to indicate that they are willing to create amazing character designs and not monetize them
DottoresPet2026-01-24 09:17
Capitano isn't completely dead and has a playable model, he might return whenever Hoyo decides they want to release him
Frozenmagicaster2026-01-24 09:11
>!old thing saying claymore in data, def going to be some random segment though!<
Perfect_Increase87922026-01-24 09:11
Maybe if hoyoverse is generous like there can be legitimate evidence that he could be one but in the end of the day hoyo decided who's playable or not
Lyciana2026-01-24 09:13
With the way he was written, I genuinely hope he won't.
DottoresPet2026-01-24 09:17
Don't like = don't pull
Mysterious_Evening92026-01-24 09:18
Genshin community is unhinged. We don’t need to see devs get assassinated.
Lyciana2026-01-24 09:20
It's not just about me not liking him. I love how Dottore was written, he's a fantastic villain. Making him playable would weaken Dottore's writing and make him a less effective villain.
DottoresPet2026-01-24 09:22
No it wouldn't. Genshin already had playable villains
That's extremely funny after the massive lengths Hoyo has gone to sanitize and whitewash each one of them (except Dori who is a gag character rather than a villain)
You are making the guy's point
DottoresPet2026-01-24 09:49
None of them changed personality wise, they still have what their fans wanted. Dottore will too.
babangelsin2026-01-24 09:51
All of their "villain" properties were in their backstory and was never a part of their actual personality. If someone enjoys the portrayal of a character as an actual villain the last thing they would want is Hoyo making them playable.
In Dottore's case this would probably be a "good segment" situation like a lot of people already mentioned.
DottoresPet2026-01-24 09:59
Which is ok because every segment is Dottore
johnxinaboss2026-01-24 09:14
No
Mysterious_Evening92026-01-24 09:18
No, he’s a villain
Coconotwotor2026-01-24 09:25
That's fair but it would be cool to have a playable character that's also a villain :]
perfectchaos832026-01-24 09:41
Not until we team up with him for a common goal.
DottoresPet2026-01-24 11:55
> Some people prefer to have nuance in their story instead of every single character being a "misunderstood character that had the reasons to do what they did". That is not a *rich and complex backstory*, it is writing for a young audience so that they can feel better about shipping those characters. You wouldn't understand what complexity is if it dangled its balls in front of your face.
Plus-Theme-32832026-01-24 13:26
No or at least the chances are very low
NoMaize72132026-01-24 13:50
The way Genshin was made, every playable character is supposed to be friends with the Traveler. You have friendship points, you invite characters to your teapot, you invite them to Imaginarium Theater, you get birthday mails from them etc. I just don't see how all this could work with literal villains.
