There still needs to be one more Nod Krai map expansion, because you can't reach 100% when you have 100% in all NK regions. Nor can the Statue be upped fully (lv8 is the max with 0 oculi remaining).

Im mostly just sad that natlan had 2 less expansions compared to fontaine (and 1 less than sumeru), and nodkrai is shaping up the same way unless they do back to back exploration patches. But since 6.1 and 6.2 don’t have any exploration, im not sure they’ll do that.

Maybe both 6.5 and 6.6 have an expansion, and 6.8 as well. Who knows

We didn't get shit tho. Like 6.1 6.2 were empty. We have Fontaine port, dormant port, mare jivari. We ain't getting all those I'm sure since we have nod krai patch (statue of seven is not 100%). We got 3 expansions from natlan and 1 summer place. I don't think they have budget to do adjacenct patches. So best bet is we got 6.3 so 6.5/6.6 and 6.8 (assuming it will be like natlan so summer event is nod krai final expansion). We got like only for dormant port (since liben confirmed it). That Fontaine and mare jivari are not even playable. F. They could've easily gave us but they didn't.

It's fun because you are forced to pay attention and immerse yourself in the map, its landmarks, roads, where paths lead, where points of interest are located relative to each other. Even a glimpse of a map while you teleport somewhere else to farm materials for example could instantly 'spoil' you the surprise of discoveries. You feel how the world is connected with its parts, instead of just clearing zones "today I'll clear chests and puzzles in this area D1, tomorrow D2, etc".

I usually open map get the zone to close to 100% as possible (ie not doing wq, since some wq has chests and sealed areas). If i can't progress further start wq. If the wq goes to next zone, open next area repeat the process.

edit: it all started when i first saw liyue city while mindlessly exploring and remembered how much in awe I was back then. So, to emulate the same element of surprise and wonder, I started to explore the map blindly afterwards. You'd be amazed how much of your imagination works to fill in the gaps and find directions—the world felt bigger, different. It's a very novel experience, highly recommended.

edit 2: also i hated that natlan soft forces u to unlock the statues for an event

As exploration should look like at least from the beginning. It's stupid that Hoyo started to put statues right in front of everyone, but casuals are too stupid to explore without a map, so yeah, as always, fun ruined because of them.

I was exploring like that since the day I started playing the game. Map is constructed in a way that it's very easy to navigate without a map and you have better sense of wonder and discovery, since map art doesn't spoil you what's ahead.

That's one of my favorite parts, I like stumbling across teleport points instead of just bee-lining toward them. You're definitely right about the hidden ones though, once I've got most of the map explored and activate the statues, it's very helpful to see the last few places I didn't find.
