whats the best/cheapest way to handle to ps4 situation?
i have a ps4 that works great it’s my first and only gaming console and i’m very glad i have it. but ps4 is getting a bit out of date and a lot of my games, including genshin impact, aren’t supported on it anymore (or won’t in the future).
the goal is for me to buy a used ps5 for hopefully way cheaper and sell my ps4, but i’m not sure how well that’s gonna work. atm i have 200$ dollars set aside for a new console (yes ik it’s gonna be way more than that), but i font know what the cheapest option is for me right now.
i really love genshin, ive been playing it since 2021 and i dont want lack of platform to be the reason i have to stop following the storyline. in planning on getting a usb storage to be able to play it until ps4 not longer supports genshins updates, but that dates coming pretty soon. does anyone know the best way to handle this?

Unfortunately, I don't know if you'll be able to sell your PS4 for much. Everyone is dropping them due to tons of games ending support. As it is, good quality and condition PS4's were already going for only ~$100 two, three years ago, and the price has dipped since. All of the local ones I'm seeing on Facebook and Craiglist are going for around $70-80. It'll still help contribute to the PS5 fund though!
But one that still viable is handheld PC like a Steam deck/ROG Ally, mlre so if you're willing to buy used one you can get it for cheap.
look for Chinese brands like Xiaomi/Honor/Huawei. they have their elite and they have their budgets. genshin works fine with the cheaper options. it's always some holiday or new year there and they have decent things on their websites.
as for PS5. look into localised ads/ Facebook marketplace.
some mainstream websites will have cashback schemes or new customer codes you can use to make things even cheaper .
which country are you in so I could search better?
It'll be a pain in the ass, probably run like shit, but it'll be free. I think. I haven't looked at the jailbreaking process in any detail.
> the reason i have to stop following the storyline
I mean, if you only care about the story, you can just follow it on YouTube.
At that point, if you install a virus onto it, that's on you, the same as if you install a virus onto your computer.
If its relatively easy for you to save up every months like 30 dollar, then it should be easy for you to get within a year enough money to buy a PS5, when you successfulyl also sell your PS4 for like 100 Dollar or more eventually, based on how old it is and if its a Base Model, Slim, or a PS4 Pro
A new PS5 with disc drive currently costs 550 dollar, a digital one without disc drive, when its essential for you to save money and you have no problems with buying your games all digital only, then 500.
If you have already 200 dollar and you basically want to buy a used PS5, expect to need minimum 150 Dollar more, if you can save of 30 dollar per month, you need 5 months, the end of PS4 Support however is in April 2026
So you have basically only 3 Months left, if you don't want to lose out on time/progress and rewards from being forced of being inactive in the meantime, in which you can't play events and miss out some stuff/characters in that time likely and primos.
With 3 months left only for you, it means, you need to be able to save up minimum 50 Dollar either per month, if you cant get your PS4 sold quick enough, or lesser, depending on if you get it sold quickly, which reduces then significantly the amount of money you need to save up to get to the neccessary likely amount of money to buy you your used PS5 then.
But if your countries currency has basically a value of toilet paper compared to dollars, and it is very difficult for you to save up money over time, because even small amounts of dollars take you already alot of time to get together, then it becomes very problematic with just only 3 months left.
Then you have only 2 options basically - lend yourself money from others, that are willing to help you out (friends/family) and give it back to them, when you are again more liquid, after getting your PS5.. OR - as harsh as it may sound maybe, but its the truth in the end - work more, get yourself some kind of small side job that you can do for some months, like delivering letters/newspapers, going for some people with their dogs around the block for some small money, be babysitter, if you like kids and so on, you get the gist, with that you can temporarely earn more money without huge effort or personal impossible requirements, like having to learn something first, before being able to do the job.
also do not listen to the people telling you to get a phone or tablet, i've tried genshin on both and it is so bad, you could connect a controller or connect your phone to a bigger monitor but idk if the graphics would get better with that
