It's understandable why nibelung had a huge crashout
Get this, you leave your minecraft server to figure why server hosting providers are dying off and see if it affects yours only to come back finding your server's world is now entirely different, original players gone, mod list tampered, and the three AI models you handcrafted to manage your server allowed such a thing to happen. Makes sense why you'd try to take it down too.

'My fellow Americans... Illegal Immigrants taking jobs are like coming back to your Minecraft server and seeing Creepers blew up your house...'
Saurians are new world dragons, created from where the PO destroyed the holy soil and caused the old-world/vishap to devolve.
Heavenly Principle was the morning star
Absolute fraudulence
What's wrong with becoming an anime waifu? Letting your bro smash is the greatest show of friendship
Mad disrespect to hijack his OC waifus and mod them into something else.
Also, Nibelung didn't kill the dragons when he arrived, those that joined him however, ended up also being corrupted.
The Heavenly Principles brought law and order and ecological diversity to Teyvat. Yeah they had to smite some fools but some civilizations JUST CANNOT HELP messing with the Abyss.
Itd be more like if you left your Minecraft Server with nothing in it and then come back to see it better than before.. Yeah youd be upset but Im sure the world is better off without you.
A : Risk your life to try and find a solution to save your planet from the Abyss
B : Pray for a miracle or wait until your planet is eventually consumed by the Abyss.
Nibelung chose the first option and he failed. So technically he didn't do anything wrong, you could argue that when he returned he wasn't even the same person. If Xiuhcoatl could barely stay conscious, imagine what Nibelung had to endure when he got taken over by the abyss in its natural habitat.
OP is talking about his 'crashout' at finding the HP in charge of Teyvat being valid, as if his actions were understandable to a rational person were they put in the same situation, but his rage was likely heavily influenced by the madness caused by being infected by the Abyss. We have no way of knowing if he would have 'crashed out' in the same fashion if he'd been fully sane.
There's a possibility he wouldn't have ever imprisoned the Moon Sisters, he may have even tried a diplomatic approach with the HP - we have no idea. But while his rage could very possibly have just been anger at finding his home overtaken by a weird alien, it's also very possible - likely, even - that his rage was heavily influenced by an emotional instability caused by the Abyss.
So in other words, whether his 'crashout was valid' or not isn't really relevant, because I highly doubt he had much control over his actions at that point and was probably mostly a crazed beast.
That's the thing though. He never seeked out the power of the abyss. He accidentally fell into the abyss on his journey. And that's how he became corrupted. And I'm not talking about whether his crashout was valid or not. I'm saying that Nibelung didn't do anything wrong.
Like you've said, when he descended back to Teyvat, his mind was long gone and he was just a crazed beast. So was it really 'Nibelung' who crashed out? There was no trace of Nibelung's personality left inside that shell. To take examples from other media, is Sukuna massacring people all Yuji's fault?
Xiuhcoatl's mental state deteriorated so fast that he told Kukulkan that in a few more weeks, he'll lose his mind and become a twisted monster. Nibelung was battling Abyssal corruption for thousands of years all alone in space. It's obvious that Nibelung was long gone.
So Nibelung did infact do nothing wrong. He tried to save his kind and died in the process. What returned and started the Funerary war was not Nibelung. But an abyssal skinwalker version of him without his personality.
And ok - you can keep arguing that Nibelung was totally innocent in all this, but that wasn't the point I was making in my initial post, so I'm not really sure why you started a discussion about it here under my comment. I was only ever responding to the point the OP was making where they're implying that his crashout was valid and rational.
"So deep were those dark mists that even the light of a thousand stars could not escape their gravity.
To find the answer before this planet was also consumed, the great dragon embarked upon an arduous quest alone."
"On the third day, you forged a shuttle of moonlight. Your heart set on the daughter of stars, **but in your recklessness, you wandered into a fog drenched swamp and the forge of light was quenched** "
There was no reason for him to actively seek out abyss, when the main problem he faced was the abyss in the first place. The hymns of the far north tells us that the reason he set out was to find the Voyager, and ask her for a solution to save his planet.

I've started this because your original comment stated "People arguing that Nibelung did nothing wrong conveniently ignore the fact that he was on abyss juice". Because it's true, Nibelung did infact do nothing wrong. All the problems happened because of Abyss.
I just think it was a territory fight, and the strongest got the territory (and to live, too).
Edit: I want people to keep making them.
Minecraft analogy is quite an effective no-brainer.
I fucking love it. I want more things compared to having a Minecraft server.
Nibelung specifically left to find seutervoinen because her warning for destruction was too vague. He then returns bearing forbidden knowledge and entirely convinced it should beat HP. He genuinely cared for his lizard peeps.
So a griefer named Seuter_Boi9 contacted Nibby_Ender_Dragon and trolled him into believing his server will be destroyed. Seeing the state of the server hosting providers dying off, he believed them enough to the point that he led his player base to find ways to keep playing. So he left and searched for the griefer over discord to find out more, leaving 3 AI models to manage his server. He comes back finding his 3 AI models prompt-hacked to the point of replacing their avatars into anime models and completely complacent and obedient to the AI that took over his server, most of his players are permabanned and the ones who kept playing are severely restricted , the mod list changed beyond recognition into an Anime server.
While all that's happening, it's kind of hilarious Seuter\_Boi9 actually returned to the server, completely rendering Nibby\_Ender\_Dragon's search useless in the first place. Then he got derailed into a sidequest when he accidentally prompted an angel into falling for him. And now he's somewhere out there , brooding I guess.
Good thing That\_Girly\_Alice set it up for the new host though.
It just looks bad on all parties.
