This is yet another prime example why it’s a bad idea to reshape anything that has at least 2 rolls in your desired substats.
If artifact’s desired substat rolls <= 1, then reshape. Otherwise— too big a gamble, as you have unfortunately experienced.
Feel your pain, been here myself. Came to this realization from a place of shared experience. 😭

Elaborate please

I don’t have a screenshot — but I had a Crit Rate and Crit DMG sands that had 1 roll in Crit DMG and 1 in Crit Rate. The other 2 rolls were in ER and there were 0 in Flat ATK.
I used a feather on it, hoping to get 3 or more of the rolls in the Crit stats. But instead I got lower rolls for in Crit Rate and Crit DMG, and both other rolls went into Flat ATK.
A total waste of feathers for a significantly worse piece.
I will never waste a feather on an artifact that has 2 rolls in the substats I want. If the piece originally had its rolls in ER and Flat ATK — the reshape would have been worth it.
Hope that clarifies.

So you're saying that if an artifact has low roles in cr/cd and more rolls in other substat previously will roll good after reshaping and vice versa?
VaultOfTheSix2026-01-26 08:13
No. I am saying that if you already have 2 rolls in substats you want, using a feather to try and get more rolls in those substats, or better rolls is too much of a risk. The OP, and myself, have examples where it was either not an improvement overall, or a minor minor one, which isn’t worth the feather.
jinchuriki_host_2026-01-26 08:15
Then when should I reshape an artifact
VaultOfTheSix2026-01-26 08:18
When it has only 1 roll (or none) in substats you are looking for on the piece.
As you can see, everything went into Flat DEF with only 1 EM roll, but the other stats are all good in general and so this would be a prime piece to choose double crit for, because you will definitely see improvements. These are the types of pieces you want to reroll with the 2 guaranteed substat reshapes (regular reshape).
You can branch out to other pieces once you get the Advanced Reshape (3 guaranteed rolls), or Decreed Reshape (4 guaranteed rolls). You save Decreed for that one four liner you really want to minmax.
jinchuriki_host_2026-01-29 12:18
Sha'nt I decreed reroll 3 liners?
Ke5_Jun2026-01-29 12:36
Kind of a waste imo, but if you really want to you could. It’s just that you basically give up the chance at a good 5th roll.
jinchuriki_host_2026-01-29 12:37
Okie I'll keep it in mind...
Zuriel7012026-01-27 05:56
Different different but thesame
Andoran222026-01-28 14:48
I mean... Slightly higher crit rate roll?
Foerza2026-01-29 12:41
Bro, u are lucky. I'm pretty often getting worse stats
